@botman1 Thanks for the compliment, man! Unfortunately I don't have so much time to practice nowadays, but I usually play an hour or two everyday (not always practicing, but at least playing). For something like this solo, I usually practice a couple of hours for two or three days. I'm quite a slow learner, unfortunately. Now I'm spending most of my practice time transcribing, learning (and rehearsing) Andromeda songs on bass, so the guitar is suffering slightly...
@ttoussaint@ttoussaint Yeah, it's one of the best solos ever written. Marty Friedman is a real guitar hero!
The pinky nail is a funny story, actually. It all began as an experiment as I noticed that my nails grow unnaturally fast, so I wanted to see how long they could get – and the only finger I'm not using when I'm playing guitar or bass the pinky on my right hand, so I chose that. To stop it from breaking I started polishing it and yellow was the obvious choice since I love that color. =)
@MrGul Yeah! Marty is my favorite guitar player. I love everything he makes, even the newer 'japanese' like kinda stuff. Even if most of the Megadeth lovers can't swallow it. It is still very nice music full of melodic shredding. You just have to keep in mind that he is not living in the same culture and it is reflected in his newer music.
@ttoussaint That's very true! I can definitely appreciate some of the newer music he's made after Megadeth, but the Introduction album was unfortunately somewhat of a disappointment for me. I found it to be quite boring, actually. He's made a lot of other stuff that's awesome, though! He is definitely not living in the metal culture anymore and he has probably progressed further now than he would have if he had stayed in Megadeth.
How much guitar and how much bass do you practice every day man? It's ridiculous to see you shred on the guitar and bass...
