I think the photos weren't the right ones because if I were to do something like this I would have put photos of Sarajevo on Christmas eve during WWII the whole city was destroyed and there is a famous photo of a little girl dead still holding her teddy bear
Would have hit like, if it weren't for all the religious nonsense and imagery of war machines and starving children. I get your point but for the love of holidays, keep the spirit alive, dont crush it
I actually think it was inappropriate to show a starving African just to perpetuate stereotypes about the continent. Why did you choose that and not the California Christmas shooting? That would have been equally appropriate. Doing a quick google search I found plenty of beautiful Christmas displays in various African cities just as nice as the European/American ones you chose...
I donated to an African orphanage because the last images in this video were of starving black kids. Maybe I'm wrong, and he's actually a malnourished Nepali with a skin condition.
That aside, the African nations as a whole--as a whole, mind you--do have more problems than just about anywhere else in the world. Oppressive regimes, changes of government, overpopulation, disease, poverty, famine... they have it pretty bad.
...a good bet to give monthly is to go online to UNICEF and DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS and donate online, each and every month..been doing it 19 years....fast and easy...another way to help children is St Jude, also online.....they were folunded by Danny Thomas, to treat children with cancer and other diseases, free if they cannot pay
Always remember that christmas is a holiday that you need to keep in your heart the year around, the poor and starving do not have access to the wonders of the BLACK FRIDAY SALE. They are more interested in food and water. So whipe the smile off your face when you get the X-Box game for little jimmy, He at least has a full belly. I might add he could loose a few pounds and less PIZZA HUT. Remember others in our country that do not have.
Very nice what you did at the end. Show all the opulent and expensive Christmas images... then pictures of the people who are starving from the food that could have provided.
Excuse me. I have to go cry, and then donate to an African orphanage.
@KyleMorrison25 I'm sorry you feel that way, but I'm not gonna tell you to feel differently. It's just sometimes hard to watch people suffer while those who can afford to help them are spending every penny they have on more for themselves.....
@DJmaxYo It's not that simple. If you simply "give money" to the poor, you perpetuate their poverty. This is because you are essentially ruining their economy by decreasing demand for the produce of the few farmers that they do have, making the farmers even poorer. As for the meaning of Christmas, it was originally a pagan Roman holiday when indulgence was rampant and acceptable. And regarding your comment on the Harley, you do realize that this does create jobs for poor Americans, right?

Maybe this video shows why the world may end on November 12th 2012, according to the Inca, Apache and other early civilizations.

@OrionoftheStar
I agree...the true meaning of Christmas is being forgotten and the whole holiday is becoming obnoxious.
Here are starving families and people are spending money on big blow-up Santas on harleys?
How can people be so blind and not even realize? It's sad. :/
