Cute,but the dog was stressing the baby and could have hurt it or killed it. Why didn't you go and get the dog instead of letting it harass the fawn?? Did the mother come for it?
@Luna810 Deers are pretty hardy animals. I wouldn't stress yourself out about it. The little guy seemed tired from the playing but it obvously knew the dog was playing and was playing back. This is a great video.
@theravenweeps I wouldn't be too quick to say it was "obvious" the deer was playing. I'm not an animal behaviorist and I'd guess you aren't either. It could be playing. It could also be that the doe was acting in self defense, in whatever capacity deers defend themselves. It may very well have been stressed. It is a newborn and I'd guess its first encounter with a dog.
At the end, the dog looks up behind the fawn and the narrator says, "Oh!" - did the mama deer come to collect the baby? What happened?? Inquiring minds need to know! By the way, this is one of the cutest videos I've ever watched, thank you so much for sharing it!!
