  • i want one so badly. it's like a helicopter only faster and better

  • yeah... fuck that

  • i didn't think a osprey can do this type of stuff i guess i was dead wrong sweet video saved.

  • Cool

  • Do a barrel roll!!! XD

  • this thing deserves the old rusty MH 53 Pavelow :)

  • That awesome

  • that should not happen

  • Racial superiority.

  • So much bad info in these comments! True it cant autorotate but a helo needs speed/altitude to safely autorotate and with either of those this thing is def NOT in helo mode. With 1 engine it can easily fly to a safe landing. The engines are farther apart than a helo so battle damage is LESS likely to affect both engines. It flies at altitudes/speeds beyond the small arms threat...UNLIKE helos. 3x redundancy everywhere means if you are crashing the situation would have brought down ANY aircraft.

  • I bet the people inside were like OHHHH SHIIIIITTTTT!!!!!!

  • Bricks have been shat...

  • @ironroad18 Thats hilarious I would have dropped a serious duece in my shorts!

  • I saw 2 of these today flying over near a walmart and it was pretty freaking awesome and very epic. Say goodbye to helicopters :)

  • wtf!did it just do that?lol.i think they are in the service already, they had problems between the two engine (when it lands or tries to lift off, i think its solved cuz i saw one at the military base operating

  • this thing is the future... large payload and crew compartment, VTOL, more then twice the range and speed of conventional rotar craft, very robust... im surprised they havent already put these into full service

  • @101andrewj They are expensive... The Marines have a ton of them already though, they are rapidly replacing the CH-46.

  • but russian had first idea of some helicopter

  • @maik6189 actually leondaro da vinci did

  • @1airplane21 He was and is a big man

  • fucking awesome, lmao but i feel for the passengers in there rofl

  • i wonder how many deedle deedles popped up hahahahaha

  • my step dad works with the guy who first did this

it was an accident the first time

  • WOW, never thought the V-22 had this kind of mobility

  • You might want to hold on back there.....

  • the props on this thing are ridiculously huge for the size of the aircraft. such a waste of taxpayer dollars.

  • @r32adt3db are you kidding? you think the engineers say "Hey lets make oversized props so we can consume more taxpayer money." And this aircraft can save many more lives with it's cabalities of getting there fast, landing anywhere, and getting out fast however far away. Are you an aeronautical engineer? Or just some dude that watches a video and is automatically an expert in aerodynamics? Take a hike...

  • @r32adt3db you must not not anything about aircraft and the reason behind the size of components.

  • @r32adt3db Idiot Democrat.

  • @r32adt3db They are actually quite small for their intended purpose when performing VTOL operations. The disk loading is quite high. Can they auto-rotate or do you just kiss your ass good-bye if an engine fails?

  • @erkq kiss it goodbye. alot of pilots dont want to fly it because you cant auto rotate. Good news is it can still fly on only 1 of those 6000 HP Nacelles.

  • @buzzkilla82 So at least there's a mechanical connection between the nacelles, then. Well, that's good. But no autorotation... sheesh... I wouldn't want to even RIDE in it.

  • @erkq i know engine failures, are very common among v 22 ospreys.

  • @1airplane21 lies

  • @kcdantl it was sarcasm so ill forgive you

  • Can't auto-rotate a plane either

  • @r32adt3db they need to be huge to take off vertically you fucking retard

  • Not a barrel roll

  • Your baggage may have shifted during flight.

  • mmmmmmm.

    Vortex Ring State.

  • Shit, the Enclave can execute Barrel Rolls.

  • @GhostLink92 shit soon we will have deathclaws parachuting in fuck this man.

  • DO A BARREL ROLL

    (Press Z or R twice)

  • wow..that thing lost way to much altitude during one roll...

  • @neocons1345 That''s because its not a fighter jet, its a transport aircraft

  • Iam in love with this plane...

  • I wonder how it would do a dutch roll?

  • thats not a barrel roll.

  • That's awesome.

  • how fast was this thing going to be able to have the blades forward?

  • @Reznor13524 250 knots is full speed with nacelles forward. So I'm guessing it was aroin that

  • kinda looks like the ship serenity from firefly. love these things though

  • sick

  • If I was a soldier sitting in the back I wouldve shat my pants!

  • @TheLdsrules Nah you wouldn't... you would be knocked out cold when hitting your head on the roof when its upside down ;)

  • @TheLdsrules lol "looks like a little turbulence...OH GOD OH GOD!!"

  • that is the coolest thing ive ever seen

  • Ummm she works very well ........ They Have Developed a new version of CH53 .....

  • Those propellors are fuckin huge

  • @IamNOTdevon

That's because they have to be helicopter blades when it lands. I imagine that the designers of this aircraft would have made them larger if they could, but then the rotors would hit the fuselage when they tipped forward (like they are in this video).

  • Obligatory

    DO A BARREL ROLL!

  • Woooo! I want one!

That right there is the future of aviation.... Military terms.

  • Wow I can believe it can do that..it looks too big and clumsy...but It sure proved me wrong.

  • thats just fucking awesome.....for the pilots lol

  • AWSUM

  • Aren't there Marine paratroopers in there?

  • Maybe strapped in their seats?

  • yeah and they said "AGAIN AGAIN !"

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!!!

I didn't think it could do that... I'll favorite it.

  • i wonder how it would feel for the guys in the back

  • 40 tonn plane!

  • Нехуёво!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! class!!!!!

  • That was bad ass!

I never thought they could manuver like THAT!

I would like to have one, please.

  • Fuckin' sweet! Gives me inspiration to do it in a cessna! lol.

  • That must take some serious talent/training.

  • Comment removed

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!!

  • that was a barrel roll....

  • i am so hoping the ospreys take over the role of the c-2's

  • awesome!

  • 100' long helicopters can do barrel rolls and loops check out the ch53

  • Looks fun

  • do a barrel roll

  • This is not a COPY of that it has some characteristics from it and maybe some hull designs but there greatly different. Such as verticle engines on this and its not a 4 rotor Vtol.

  • u talking bullshit google Bell XV-3 the bell was build 1955

  • and the ka-22 based on the british Fairey Rotodyne

  • They look nothing alike, whereas Osprey looks exactly like ka-22.

  • @Pseudologic

everybody who says the US steals technology from russia has no fucking idea of anything that belongs to military the KA-22 would be based on the german one back in ww2

    but its not tilt anyway

  • @ViennasNachos Stealing technology and borrowing ideas aren't the same things. Borrowing ideas should be encouraged. I think only China "steals technologies"

  • @Pseudologic

    ?

did USA or russia borrow & steal more ideas?

  • @Pseudologic Yep, hell they arent even shy about telling you they do.

  • Ka-22 is not a tilt rotor aircraft, the V-22 is. And it is indeed built based on Bell XV-3, which predates the Ka-22

  • Ya! Everything us stupid old Americans do is a copy of Russian bullshit. Sit down please!

  • Hey it's Chekov!

  • why can't the osprey use all turbofans ?

  • dam that pilot had some balls thing drops serious alt. fuck that

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!!

  • @makotomikami ahahahahah!!!!!!! yes SIR!

  • gotta be a Marine, those bus drivers (air force), and the squids (navy), aint crazy enough to do that

  • Awesome.... but my bro is AF so suckit. j/k

  • fag...USMC is where its at.

  • I'm a fag because my brother is USAF? Sorry, I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion.

  • what's an AF?

  • Ummm... Air Force, maybe?

  • someone said "my brother is AF (air force)", lol

maybe my brother is in AF.. xD

  • the CV-22 is only used for nap-of-the-earth insertions and exfiltrations by USAFSOC. Those bus drivers that fly the CV-22 are some of the craziest SOBs I have ever met

  • your wrong and your right, the Cv-22, is used the the AF, but the Mv-22 is used by the Marines, and the Marines where the first to get the Mv-22, like i said your right and your wrong

  • USA

  • USA

  • dogfighting

  • Peace of cake, I can hover mine upside down at 3 feet from the ground !

  • that sucks i can do a back flip then land it in the ground -3 feet in the ground beat that

  • That's nothin, I totally pulled a cuban eight at a cool 14 inches before driftin that baby into the hanger!

  • thats how you do it baby

  • with all that rotational force so far out on each wing, that must be a "sporty" little maneuver.

    The props don't counter-rotate right?

  • wow it loses alot of lift wen upisde down

  • kind of - remember the wings generate life vertically so when it's upside down they are still generating 'lift'...just not up lol :D

  • ok so there generating 'drop' :D

  • bet he got fired

  • wouldnt be surprised if he did

  • i bet he was a test pilot tryin a few "special tricks"

  • doubt it. Standard test- Even chinooks have been rolled :P

He's at a reasonable altitude, he needs to stress the airframe a little, roll is perfect.

Now, can the Osprey do it in VTOL mode I wonder? :P

  • to kickass

  • So how many hours of maintenance does the osprey need for every hour of flight?? 50, 100 maybe..

Good luck getting a straight answer for that.

  • @Uncle5cary not that much but alot. and nobody will (legally) give you a straight answer its kinda against DoD policy...

  • Do a barrel roll!

  • That nosed down quite a bit for an aileron roll.

  • thats awesome for a helicopter

  • That did not look like it handled the aileron turn well.

  • Jeez I'd be worried if I was in that plane

  • It's not a plane

  • Chopper? It seems to resemble both, I'd say. Wait, I got it.... "Aircraft." hahaha

  • Not a helo, It's a tiltrotor - neither a fixed rotor or a fixed wing.

  • Sweet, thanks man.

  • Np :)

  • I build them and we refer to it as a rotocraft not plane or helicopter thats what makes it so cool

  • The F-14 Tomcat was taken out of service because of unreliability, and it only has movable wings. The osprey has movable engines.

  • The F-14 was taken out of service because it needed 40-50 hours of maintenance for every hour of flight... reliability had nothing to do with it.

  • peppy:DO A BARREL ROLL!(r or z twice)

  • beautiful!

  • It's kind of expected at that speed, but I wish it wouldn't drop so much...

  • He may have been sacrificing altitude to maintian speed. It's not a dangerous trick if done right. Search: Bob Hoover in his Aero Commander Shrike and watch him pour iced tea

  • Hahaha i hope the troops were buckled in when the pilot did that! Fun ride, though.

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!

  • Impressive.

  • sikkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • Hope they don't do that with any marines in it

  • considering the size of the aircraft, I figured it'd drop lower and have a harder time rolling. do the propellers/rotters move, or are the airfoils more powerful than I had anticipated?

  • airfoils

  • ok thnx 4 letting me know

  • To settle the argument, it was intentional. There are performance points, like altitude and airspeed, that are certified. There are also "demonstration" points, like the roll maneuver, that only had to be demonstrated. It was a one-time thing, that was required by the government, to verify that it could be done.

I know because I worked flight test when that maneuver was flown, and spoke with the pilot about it afterward. He said it was fun, but really no big deal.

  • looks like fun

  • hahaahaha amazing stuff!

  • This is more of a troop carrier and generally aren't buckled in so glad this was just a test run eitherwise you'd have a bunch of guys on medical leave.

  • haha!

  • Jeez that would have been scary, barell rolling and free falling close to 50m.

  • I'd say it only dropped a good 50 meteres... not bad for what it is, actually

  • that's definitely plenty more than 50 meters

  • well, considering its size you're probably right.

  • Who would have thought that flying blender could perform like that? LOL, that's awesome!

  • do a barrel roll!

  • did you people see how much altitude that thing lost when it did that

  • for real, how much did that thing drop during this maneuver?

  • like 1000 feet

  • That was too well controlled to be an accident. Just proves this is an extremely nimble craft :)

  • Are you sure the copilot didn't just decide to have a lil fun?

"Hey tom please don't tell them I did that, I had to get it out of my system."

"Okay i will say it was an accident Sam.."

    Also

    DO A BARREL ROLL!

  • double tap z or r!

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!

  • idk tht looks very intenional to me

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!

    (Z OR R TWICE)

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!
