i did this hike a couple years ago. i got to the top and it started hailing. 15 minutes later it stopped. on my way down. a grizzly was about 10 yards of the trail and we stared (sp) at each other eye-to-eye..scariest moment of the life.

How did you get back? It's hard to warm up drenched in cold water standing on ice with no warm clothes.

I dove in and swam back but almost passed out from putting my head under the icy water. My friend taped me coming back on his video camera and it was stolen with the video tape in it.

Heat loss occurs mostly through the head.
