Vai has the most perfect middle finger I have ever seen in my life! I would take so much pride in flipping people off with that bird! My fingers are crazy crooked so I gotta be lightning fast! BTW Vai is fucken shred king LOL =)
He's the first artist I heard who is honest about the shit the recording industry are doing. Those people are taking more money away from artist than they should be.
Steve, if you ever met him, is a total mensch. It's great when good and talented people become successful. What he did is a good model for any aspiring young musician.
One of the most sincere interviews on what was effectively a start up business. Nice to know that determination and single minded passions can pay off. ( oh, and with a little help from a movie (crossroads), Zappa and being hugely talented.) I just wonder what would have been of Vai had YouTube and MySpace been around back then. Lost in the Tsunami of faces or still viable (no pun intended)?
This is brilliant. I didn't think any guitarist had his own record company, from back in the day. That is pretty punk rock

You're the man Vai! Too many artists out there want to be whores for the record companies. You're smart for learning the business aspects.
