This is a valuable clip for those seeking a glimpse of the future of television. The production values are definitely lower than big time television but well within the range of acceptability for web distribution. I am convinced that big time television is simply the illuminated manuscripts of a digital age. Programs like this point to ways of storytelling accessible to many more storytellers.
No, this episode isn't supposed to be the USA. The woman has sold the house and she's been payed by american dollars (in Russia the prices of realty are in dollars)
This is the Russian remake of "LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT." However, there is also a Russian version of "SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT." They are shown back to back five times a week and both use the same opening music.
Man is this for real? The music is from L/O SVU...doesn't necessarily mean that's what this is. Definately not an American version. The phones, cars etc definately foreign (not USA).
Nope. It's Criminal Intent. It's the episode "Case Closed," where a rich businessman manipulates his dumber friend into hiding the body of a young girl he raped and murdered after he couldn't rape his friend's sister. I have no idea why the character was made deaf in the Russian version.
I got the impression that the brother had a hearing problem, given the tone of voice he used. Anyone else think that? I wonder how the show is doing in Russia, given thier huge organized crime problem.
Then man with mental problems visits other man, and he offers him to take the money, too, but he refuses. Normal man goes home, he's gonna go to restoraunt with his wife. Wife is angry because somebody have been calling for all day. She thinks the lover of her husbend calls. He says to her that there are problems with phone and that she watchs too many soap operes... I hope you can understand the opening scene was about
@MashaN1992 yup. seems like a typical Criminal Intent cold opening. I hope the last season of the our version in the us will be a good one unlike the last couple of years.
Nope, a crime didn't take place. At the beginning of opening scene there are two people - woman and man. They are brother and sister. Man has mental problems. Their mother died and sold their house, and sister offers to brother to take the money. But I can't understand what man tells.

It's the lack of shot variety that makes it look cheap. Fix that and it'll look like a thousand bucks.

Why does the Russian version of SVU has the Criminal Intent theme and the Criminal Intent Opening has the SVU Theme.

I had the exact same question, but then I learned to just roll with it.

Why are they using American currency? Is this episode supposed to be based in America or something?

Is this L&O: SVU Russian Edition? The theme music used at the end is used in L&O: SVU here in the US.

Yes, it doesn't seem as though the brother has mental problems -- he is deaf. They are using sign language to communicate!
