  • How old is Jeff Lynne now? He must be at least 63.

  • Perfect...thanks

  • Sure, it is clear that today you don´t have such perfect music as this one.

  • awesome

  • wow! What a song!!! ELO are true gods !!

  • супер!!!браво мистеру Линну.фантастика.

  • simplemente fantastico

  • Great song and memories thanks for posting

  • ★★★★★ The Electric Light Orchestra produced some really amazing music.

  • Percy Sledge, I think you mean.

  • The Super Seventies !!

  • that blonde chick backing up Mr Lynne has every right to brag that she's performed with ELO! She must be LOVIN it!!!!

  • Amazing that record producers haven't decided to yank this from You Tube. Oh well, enjoy it while it's still here.

  • great song, great band, we all miss you Kathleen Ann Schulze, 10/18/62 - 06/23/10

  • E.L.O. KICKS ASS...

  • Rest in peace Michael Edwards

  • freaking awesome.

  • Soooo smooth and easy ... this was real music, performed by real musicians, and it made us feel great ... kinda like RIGHT NOW, huh ?

  • What a potent song.

Oh, I'm never gonna be the same again

now I've seen the way it's got to end

    sweet dream, sweet dream

    Strange magic,

    oh, what a strange magic,

    got a strange magic

Today's music sucks. Imagine today ELO, The Move, Neil Young, The Replacements, Neil Young,The Beatles, Buffalo Springfield, Love (Forever Changes), Graham Parker & the Rumor, Marshall Crenshaw, Bowie,

Elvis Costello 76-80, The Velvet Underground, Roxy Music, The Clash, Iggy Pop, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan

  • Not of this world..

  • Awesome music...They don't make music like that today... I feel so lucky to have been a part of that experience...This is transcendental music. It lifts you into and transports you into musical Utopia... ...Today's hip-hop and r&b is so empty and devoid of any harmony or any meaning -it doesn't touch any soul...

  • they were magic..

  • Jeff Lynn /Vela Rosie what a combination love the harmonies of this group. as stated below, great music, better than todays stuff ever dreamed of being...

  • All of these ELO performances from the 2001 Zoom tour sound unbelievable. The live performances sound as good as the original recordings, in some cases better...

  • Vela Rosie reeks of sex appeal.

  • Something has always occured to me about this version of the song: That it seems to give one the idea of how it would sound had it ended up on "Out of the Blue" rather than "Face The music", right down to the fat drum sound, and greater emphasis on harmonies.

  • the girl singer reminds me of stans mom off south park

  • Great song, when I hear this song, I think of Criss Angel, he is good at doing "strange magic"!

  • tripping balls makes them professional lol still sounds great

  • Why always someones HAS to say something?

  • I love elo. Live performances are tricky and though this is a good one I think the tempo is a little too slow.

  • is it me or are they all tripping balls man

  • ohh strange magic..is so so very fealing

  • this song is great. its even greater when your trippin on lsd :D

  • I use to listen to a lot of hip-hop and rap when I was a youngster. But man this music is classic, no where near todays music. This is better than todays hip-hop, country, r&b. Just like Jimmi Hendrix, Beatles, Elton John, Ottis Redding, Perry Sledge and other old singers.

  • Same here!! When I was a teen my dad used to listen to this and I thought it was not my kind of music, but now I'm 25 an loving it.

  • @jeanious2009 Completely agree with you mate !!

  • @jeanious2009 I see that 10 viewers dislike this. How can anyone NOT like this song, or the live performance????

  • they should have put in the orchestral intro

  • I love ELO!!

  • id give an organ to have jeff lynn sing this for me elo were beyond talented all the artist from the 70s should open a school to teach these guys and gals of today nobody really stands out all I purchase is from this era and im only 34

  • Such a lovely song.

  • this sounds better than the studio version!

  • well, my favorite part is when he said got a strange magic!!

  • ★★★★★ i love this song is beautiful!!!

  • Are you kidding? I'd give every thing you and I both own to look like that woman! And be able to sing, too. I can't stop playing this ... my poor cat...

  • well there is the beatles cant beat them

  • why are there no more good bands like this ??

  • He is so sexy !!! Great song

  • ★x5 awesome

  • i love this song and darren hayes's remake of it for the movie "ella enchanted"

  • Hi!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jeff!!! Lynne, but I can't stand 'your girl"

Your talent should not mix w/ hers... she's ok but not enough to be next to you... pretty difficult to enjoy you when Miss Vela is next to you. WE DO NOT LIKE HER PERFORMANCE. Sorry, man. It is just like she does not belong...

  • ★★★★★ AWESOME

  • Cool tune!!

    And it's be awhile!!

    5*****

  • Why don't they get back together?

  • Jeff Lynne is a genius! What a great band.

  • great song ... great performance ...

  • ELO!! always rocked!!

  • no doubt, great tune, great lyrics, smooth, beautiful as the author. but jeff, THIS IS NOT ELO!!!! Come on... Rosie Vela may be your buddy, nice voice but that's about it. Nothing special about her and we have to keep looking at her weird ways on the stage. Sorry, it's my opinion.

  • They have a strange magic. My son and grandkids love their stuff. (After all these years!) They were and still are, vastly underrated by the music press. but let's face it. They wont go away. OK, Some of their output was pretty dire, but so what. At heart there's something fundementally good in their music and to paraphrase "I cant get it out of my head"

  • i know this song from the virgin suicides, and i think is great!

  • do not try to go there yuppies. Have been there and always for ELO, Yes, Led, Who, etc, etc, etc

  • such a great melody... soft and just beautiful. Jeff Lynne... what a musician... I remember in brazil listening to it and going like "who's singing this? really, I'm his biggest fan, I'm sure...

  • better than the original!

  • wat i would give to be born back then (not in 1994 wen all the crap came out) i would love to see them in their prime years

  • hey man, i agree that there's more good stuff from back then, but there were more young musicians, so it makes sense. there's a bit of good stuff since you were born. i was born in 1989 and there's lots of chili peppers stuff, audioslave had a few good ones, the police were late 80s and early 90s, rage against the machine is sweet, smashing pumpkins, U2 is still kickin, sarah slean is nice, tegan and sarah have some good tunes. anyway point being its still out there, you just have to dig a lil'.

  • whoa...i was there....

  • Jeff Lynne looks like one of the characters from Fraggle Rock

  • this song is on ella enchanted

  • yaaaaaaaaaa,,,,,

    its nice

  • This song brings back such fantastic memories. All of their songs do.

  • What I wouldn't give to be back in high school!!

  • why have i never heard this song before today?!?!?!?!?!?! thats what I get for being born in 1989 dammit. well, its still good for me!

  • Dude I remember this song from way back and I was born a year before you. Different upbringings.

  • when i first heard it like however many weeks ago, i remembered it from when i was really young, but not enough to recall it directly, if that mkaes sense... a flag went up in my head, but i didnt 'know' the song.

  • yea i understand most songs are like that with me to

  • I first heard ELO from me moms womb. I'm never gonna be the same again. The talent graced to Jeff is a gift and thankfully we are all able to enjoy that gift. Indeed the man has left his mark forever on this world. Isn't it amazing his voice as smooth as satin even after 40 years. Perpetually fresh!

  • Only the good Lord knows how many times I have listened to this beautiful song and never get enough of it

  • Truly one of the most unsung composers of the last great musical era.

  • i got a strange magic.....

    Oh, what a strange magic.....

  • I grew up with ELO ... and now it's my favourite band... it's wonderful to listen this music

  • Listening to this song makes me feel like I'm 13 years old again. They saturated the airwaves with this song back then. I miss it.

  • Sigh!.. What happened to innovative, talented bands like this? I feel so bad for the kids of today and the trash music they had to listen to growing up....

  • Is'nt it the truth. I think we grew up in one of the best era's of music. For me 60's, 70's and some 80's and then I noticed the music just started on a downward spiral. And, like you said the trash of today, well, is just that. TRASH

  • I love this song. GOTTA, STRAANGE MAGIC

  • Good music is timeless

  • "ELO!" I still love these guys!

  • you can buy the dvd off of ebay rather offoardably as well as off of Amazon , it`s amazing , Jeff hasnt lost 1 thing since day 1.

  • Hi sofiehotnymphhn!! Do you realize how many children are watching videos on youtube and you have nothing better to do than advertising for pornography? Shame on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Was looking for this beautiful song and now, I feel like findig a jewel in a hay stack

  • im 40 and think they are the best

  • who's the lady vocalist?

  • It was played in the movie. Though I have to admit, it's been a long time since I have seen the movie. Once was enough.

  • This was the best song out of Xanadu

  • This song was off of "Face the music", not "Xanadu"

  • I'm 21 and love ELO. Trough my future I will always listen to this music. Thanks to my dad (55) who introduced me to them.

  • i feel the same way. im 19 and my 51 year old mother has listened to ELO since the 70s. good shit. i hope i can see them live sometime...

I hope you get your wish!

  • ELO you are so so so good. thanks

  • still one of the greatest of all times

  • SOOOOOO GOOD

  • If you are talking about singer-songwriter classics, I concur. However, even the '80s had many gems: Sade, EBTG, Sting, U2, Simple Minds, China Crisis, The Smiths, Level 42, Simply Red, The Cure, and many others.

  • Rush also

  • one of my favs.. Im 50

    Kev

  • You'er one of the "BEST BANDS" In this persons Life! A person who felt the notes!!!!! Thank You! For your "MUSIC" ........

  • worth every shilling , pence an pound - ELO the foundation of greatness

  • Wow, I had no idea he was British. Silly me.

  • Me either. Guess we both missed the memo.

  • i'm 14 and elo is fucking cool

  • ELO only proves my theory that current music artists have lost 40 IQ points in the last 20 years. WTF??? They pulled Cant Get It Out Of My Head off YT?? What's the world coming to? My 12,000+ mp3 collection of the 50's, 60's, 70,s and 80's will help me through this current drought of musical talent.

  • Perfect, exact way of putting music of today and for me it's sad right now because it will define my teenage years when old.

  • It's 1976 all over again :)

I was in kindergarten when this song was released...Thank you for posting.

  • This song is great, but "Last train to london" is a CLASSIC.

  • great song from a great band Peter Jesness did a great job on production in the studio version

  • this song is the bomb..

  • its a sad day they took Cant Get it Out of My Head off Youtube. one of their best

  • this is a beautiful song. i'd love to dance and step to this.

  • What a brilliant band..nothing ealse quiet like it..

  • Dang, all the great bands seem to be in the 80s.

And I have to be born in the musical era of sex, profanity and awful lyrics.

  • yeah love being in the 80's

  • 80's were good but this song is from the 70's.......even better

  • these guys were 70's thank you very much

  • Great band with an awesome number of great songs.

  • Great stuff.. intelligent and colorfull ELO. Today's music is all about criminals and hate.

  • AMAZING

  • great stuff

  • Remember this band from chidhood awesome

  • Thank You for posting this. I miss ELO..I like their works with jeff lynn's his stuf with travelling wilburries is really cool too..\

  • Great stuff. Brings back all wonderful memories when most bands knew how to play instruments and lead singers had charisma. Croatia loves ELO.

  • magnanimidad =)

  • Esta rola es maravillosa, me da la sensasion de enamorarme cada vez que la oigo. Gracias por esta rola

  • E.L.O. has a classic sound that will never go out of style with me. Love it.

  • This was awesome live. Thanks for posting!

  • elo, was the bomb in a certain era in time, in music in america and around the world. a blend of electronic, classical, and rock. the travelling willburys springsteen, tom petty, george harrison, etc. paying respects to roy orbestson form this small band, and who was the genius to arrang all their music. my man jeff lynn! case closed drohegda!

  • shut d fuc up and sing the song

  • It's wolf boy on stage!

  • Wonderful !! Takes one back to a happier time & this song was dedicated to a certain Trevor Francis whom Jeff quite rightly stated had a "strange magic" !!

  • um dos melhores grupos da decada de 70 e 80 é a definicao pura do que é musica abracos

  • "Strange Magic" is the last true ELO tune. After that Mr. Lynne found his formula and everything became predictable and real boring. Thanks for posting it.

  • The Beatles as a whole, never agreed to have Phil Spector destroy their music. Hello!

That's neither here nor there anyway. We're talking about the musical genious that was ELO. El Dorado being my fave.

  • Yeah ! I love thtis song!! Thanks!

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • I'm an old fart, but when I was young this was new. Who did the Beatles call to produce their only post-Lennon project? Hello.

  • Well, yeah, because he totally aped their sound...

  • Phil Spector produced "hello" post lennon.

  • Splendid
