  • I love my fender.

  • This is a horrible video. Akio Obuchi made a reproduction of this instrument, and it actually sounds VERY unique. It sounds like a cross between a violin and an organ.

  • wow, that sounds awful.

  • poor da vinci. now ppl say that this is your most important creation... wtf

  • I came up with a similar concept a few years ago, before I had heard about this. In my design the bow was activated by a foot pedal.

  • @Sparklesarb Pretty cool, although you are centuries late!

  • thanks for a great video

  • Da Vinci is said to be the true inventor of the bike chain...I think thats a bit more useful.

  • it's horrible!

  • looks as if u're suppose 2 play it sitting down moving ur knee up n down not ur foot bak n forth

  • U can bet it had a continuous drone & not this absurd lame back & fourth action. God how annoying.

  • it is based on a very brief sketch and is mostly assumed by the creator, it seemed that a constantly runing loop of hair (bow) running over and around strings that were pushed against it by keys on a keyboard wold make more sence than the sawing motion required of the bitch boy at the bottom...

  • Wouldn't it be better to put a long strap of rosined tape under the strings which would work like hurdy-gurdy wheel just in flat shape? Chords would be limited to 5 sounds as one hand would be used to turn the wheel but still this is more playable than Da Vinci thought it to work.

  • It looks like your supposed to play that thing while walking or marching.

  • they should reconstruct the flying machine

  • Da Vinci's quote on flight is one of my favourites as a student pilot, even though he had never flown...

"For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

  • They've done that....

  • No wonder Da Vinci tried to hide it for a couple hundred years....

  • Wonder if Da Vinci knew how terrible it would sound?

  • @rojman123 Leonardo da Vinci was no idiot, and like all great minds, understood the irrelevancies of hypothetical imperfections when designing a perfect idea.

  • @rojman123 there ARE some reasons why inventions are never built lol

  • hes a very harry man.. and its no the "MOST IMPORTENT" thing as he put it.. and it dont sound delicat at all in my opinion. :P

  • the man who plays that thing should walk, not stand and waive his leg? I'm sure that this instrument had been built for street musicians. HE SHOULD WALK, IT'S MORE NATURAL.

  • They should have modernized and made it sound good before dragging that thing out into public.

  • 0:40-0:52 He looks like the actor that plays wolverine.

  • and the award for most§ stupid invention goes to..dum dum dum dum...da vinci!!!

  • considering he invvented this a looooong time ago i think its pretty cool.... cant see it ever be used now though lol

  • aaaaaaaaaand YOU have invented............uuuuuhhhhh WHAT exactly?

DaVinci had inventions, that changed life as he knew it,and made way for the modern era.Where do you think the Wright Brother's concept for the airplane came from? Helicopter (gyrocopter as DaVinci called it) ? Cannons used in ships were designed by him, the repeating firearm, rifle and compound bow,all designed by DaVinci over 500 years ago.Not everything was practical or perfected but at least he tried. Your contribution is?

  • youre a moron if you think humans wouldnt found out all that without this vinci dude..

the dude is a no body in my opinion...and hes death..

I actually invented that shit everyone here on youtube does FIRST back in 2001 in a chatroom and brought it to utube in 2006.. thank me for that.. thats alot better then anything vinci did.. i fuck with peoples mind...since everyone is going crazy over that shit.

    I m beter then vinci since i m always FIRST !1

    ..vinci can suck my balls

  • @Vleesball, i think they wouldn't have thought of it for a very, very long time; even longer until they could've made them.

  • leo was great guy... but im not sure what he was smoking when he drew that thing up...

  • He did it for the lulz. He knew somebody would eventually try to build it.

  • Looks like he's humping the instrument.

  • most important invention? ok mate.

  • it sounds like shit

  • yeah but at least he tryed right?

  • Well, at least he tried to do something creative and original for the area do music, but hey, every invention need test and error phases for take a shape that is satisfying for the inventors desires and real purposes.

    : )

  • I recognize that Leonardo DaVinci is a genius, a very clever, curious and creative mind, filled with many great ideas, most of them very promising and titanic, and has a very good sense of aesthetics that offers art of great quality and taste or at least that's what I think...

But for being a very good trying, that instrument sounds terrible! XD It needs more changes and adjustments Leo! It sounds like an accordion/violin mix (out of tune)... Or like a cat being tortured inside that thing.

  • 0:39 lol wut?

  • oh col a motorised instrument, a little like an electrical instrument except he didn't have the electricity. who ever says it sucks can't appricate this fine work!

  • Leonardo had one of the greatest, if not the best, mind the world has ever seen. For all those people who doubt him or look down on him, I'm sure you could not come close to thinking up of something like that, let alone make it. He was a genius and we can stand to learn much from him, even though this sinlge instrument might not sound so superb.

  • @CarolynnsCynosure Do you know *anything* about Leonardo beyond the myth? The truth is Leonardo started a many projects, got bored & left them unfinished. Did U kno he worked on Mona Lisa up until the day he died? He was a scatterbrain okay? His mind wandered from one fanciful idea to the next. He wrote down a lot of ideas, but many are just doodles & half-baked concepts that wouldn't work if they were attempted to be constructed. Last Supper peeled off wall b/c he tried painting on dry plaster.

  • give em a break, so a historic genius tried to invent an instrument, so what? besides, that thing is REALLY old

  • For a prototype from an initial "blueprint" plan it is an extremely promising idea, that should prove an unbeatable and iconic instrument when the technical problems/operation/power source/sizing/etc. has been worked on.

  • souns like shit... just saying lol

  • so is it supposed to sound like an accordion?

  • Can't wait to hear the improved version of this instrument, it also seems really interesting from a technical point of view

  • kl.

  • Sweet.
