A purity ring doesn't mean anything in itself, any more than a wedding ring means anything in itself. You wear the ring as a symbol and reminder of a promise between yourself, your future spouse, (and if your reasons are religous, God) that you will keep yourself pure until marriage.
I wear a purity ring, and that's what it means to me. The J Brothers are standing up for virtue and honour, and in my mind that makes them men of integrity. I might even give their music a chance :-P

you're drawing that from what you think she said, that's not what she said. she was angry at him because he was criticizing something that she's passionate about, she never said anything about the whole world, she directed her comment at him. you're putting words in her mouth and drawing your own conclusion from the comment. you're not listening to her words "not everyone, guy or girl, wants to be a slut" she said nothing like "anyone who doesn't wear one is a slut".

And Russel never said there actually was anything wrong with the population wearing rings - he mainly joked at the Jonas' bros having them - not the population. It is his job to joke, and he often jokes about things close to the bone - it is his style and Jordin doesn't understand/get that - can't be expected - she doesn't really know of him. At the end of the day he may have took it too far - but it was a joke.

Oh and Russel Brand is hardly a "purity ring" hater, as I think someone was silly enough to suggest below me. It was simply a joke, he ran with it, and Jordin would have been better to keep her dignity with her mouth closed and said something more subtle at another date if she very really needed to. If people read between the Russel's joke he "hates" rings - then the opposing side must read between Jordin's lines she accused a lot of people that aren't in to rings, to being slut-wannabes.

oh she can take a joke, it's just that he was slamming something that she's passionate about. i mean for one thing, the youngest jonas brother is 15. i don't think anyone wants their 15 year old having sex, even him, because shit like teen pregnancy and STD's and look what happened to Bristol Palin, right? i almost got a purity ring, and i'm not even religious at all, i just wanted that to be something special for my husband to have from me, you get me?

yeah i feel ya, but i think teen pregnancy occurs when something's going on in the home. parents need to set expectations and guidelines. like in my house, when iwas 15, i wasn't even allowed to fully date. me and my boyfriend kept a chaperon at his house and mine.

Yeah I agree. It's one thing to take what was an obvious joke so personally and it's fair enough it went against her own beliefs and she was offended (though I kinda thought it was stupid) but she's basically showed herself as a hypocrite for slating Russell for making fun of her beliefs and choices yet judging people who don't agree with her choice. she generalised quite alot of the population. It's quite stupid, she obviously didn't think.
