I remember this one when Big Bird conducts the marriachi band. Amazing that a girl was singing in Spanish, and a boy was translating in English! Keep this posted! ;-)
@Whoever asked me to post SS episodes-I don't own any :( I was about 6 or 7 when I watched SS so, of course, I didn't know much about how to operate a VCR
I always thought this song was lovely. I loved the nationalism; the line "we'll never be too far apart" has always been with me.
Oh, and now that I speak Spanish, I tried to pick up on the words the girl sang, but I didn't get them all. They're not a translation of the English lyrics the boy sang afterwards.
the little girl at 2:21 is the cutest! This song is growing on me and my 2 year old!

Rough translation I got from listening to the girl:
I'm purely Mexican, born in this home, on this beautiful earth, which is a pretty nation.
And to dear Mexico, her lakes and mountains, today I sing this song.
Long live Mexico! Long live America! Two homes blessed by God!
Long live Mexico! Long live America! I'll always say it in a loud voice!
Would there happen to be any native speakers watching who might be able to check me?... :)

@Vook-Actually I think what the boy soloist sings in English after the girl soloist is the rough translation of the lyrics.
