@darknight8817 The 300zx twin turbo manual. I picked mine up for 1500 bucks (jap import). It's proved quite reliable. Its not crazy to drive like a 200bhp vtec engine, but the pull is immense, fairly quicker than my old SR20 s14 silvia and tune up well. Working on it is a pain in the ass though

yeah.. I recommend not getting the turbo unless you have a spare or can get it fixed cheap..The non turbo edition is just as good and sporty.

If this were a mass airflow system, than wouldn't he be blowing off measured air and running really rich? Or is this person running a different engine management system. My n/a 93 300zx is a mass airflow car, which is why im wondering. Anyone know?

yeah...it can't be a maf.....I read later that 93 n/a cars were upgraded to 32 bit ecms while the twin turbo cars still had the 16 bit. That must be thedifference

idk what you are talking about ... all 300zx's have maf sensors. I have one with a dual intake and one maf - i use a safc to double the af signal to the ecu. I also have two bov's - i may get a little carbon on the rear bumper, but the sound is worth it! :)

They are mass airflow cars and yes they do run very rich for a moment when the bov's go off, but that's why you use an air fuel controller to prevent stalling on deceleration.

da only 2+2 one that they have that comes with 300hp is the 1996 one.the rest of the 2+2 have around 220 hp. but still makes them really amazing cars.

No 300ZX would cost $108,000 AUD to import to Australia, especially considering the AUD was good against the YEN at that point in time. $108,000 for a 300ZX is stupid. You could buy one here in Australia for $10K and build the same car for $50K. If your going to spend that sort of money why not buy a GTR though?

Damn. I hadn't really looked into it but, yeah the new R35 has a 3.8L V6 twin turbocharged which allows for some serious power. About 480hp and 430ft-lb of torque. Just wish it looked more like the 300ZX or at least the old GT-R because I really don't like how it looks. Looks like they really went for a futuristic type of thing. Another thing is the price. For about the same price you can get a new Z06 which is 600-700lbs. lighter and has about 25-30 more horses.

Well, if you like boosted applications, why not just get a Shelby GT500 Super Snake? This beast has tuning options which range from a (warranted) 600 hp and 590 ft-lbs. of torque to over 725 hp (unwarranted) and goes for about $72k, which is about the same as the R35.

I didn't say the 300ZX TT, I said the 300ZX. Which means the base 300ZX (with the naturally aspirated VG30DE V6). And the new 350Z is faster than the base model since it gets around 300hp. But the Twin Turbo model is faster than the new 350Z.

Doesn't change the fact that the 300ZX Twin Turbo goes for $10k-$15k while the 350Z goes for about $28k and the 300ZX Twin Turbo has a 11.6 power to weight ratio while the 350Z has a 12.8. That's about $13k-$18k saved while getting a somewhat faster car. Even if you got the base model of the 300ZX, you could definitely put twin turbos in there and tune it up nicely with the money saved.

It really depends on what you're looking for. What you get with the 350Z is more reliability over the 12-18 year old 300ZX. I had a 93 TT, and I loved that car, but it was an everyday driver and spend too much time in the shop. I sold it this year, and I went with a C6 Corvette, which is a good combination of performance and reliability.

i love my z i dont need the better areo from nismo the coefecent of drag on the normal z is 0 thats what if u go 60 and are on a flat surface and put in in nutrace it will aty 60-50 for about a min or less i have done this works great i got it to read 60mpg once to take that hybrid civic cruise on 70 and it read 60mpg if only i had to go on a long trip i can almost go 1200 miles if i average 60 or better
