Yess, you are correct. However, sodium Hydroxide is used in lots of things without any harm. Even in your toothpaste. It is in the understanding of proper procedures and mixes along with buffers that allow us to use these types of chems to lessen the risk of damage to a customers wood. Bleach is a no no on wood. It is used in factories to break wood pulp into paper. This is why you see furring when bleach and high pressure is used. These are the reasons why folks should only hire PRO's.
