Personally i don't think AvA's music isn't all that bad, but if i was him i would seriously commit myself to the band that changed the way music was made. Blink 182 and AVA are differents types of music. Blink is like punk-rock and AVA is more alternative-space rock... I think that both are great, but AVA is a different style for any band that I listen in all my life... That band is my favorite, their own style, own kind of music... I don`t know... It`s the best!!!

Blink 182 and AVA are 2 different types of music. just because they have the same singer doesn't mean they were ever meant to be compared to each other like so many people are doing. I like both blink and AVA respectively. sometimes i feel like more punk rock music that I've been a fan of for a very long time and other times i like the instrumental majesty-like quality that angels and airwaves presents. Both bands are great in their own ways.
Oh and also, Tom did far better than Mark and Travis after blink. Whether it's AVA, his new entertainment website, or Macbeth or any one of his many endeavors, he did just as well without them. Travis did well for himself I think, but Mark was a train wreck. Still I'm thrilled they're back together. You're still a dick though.

Mark grew up just the same as Tom. They even said, they were such good friends because they were basically the same person in two different bodies. They also said they were so glad to meet each other because they had been looking for someone who liked the same music as them, and they were both into exactly the same bands. @guitarGUNFIGHTxxx yeah, that's definitely true. my fanfare left angels and airwaves after listening to we don't need to whisper. the adventure and the war were "neat" songs but the cd was just way too repetitive to listen to for more than 1 or 2 times. I think the silversun pickups are one of the best bands right now. i can see a similar style to AVA's in their music but it has so much more substance to it. If you haven't heard of them give them a listen! They're AWESOME live!

@Uglypan You obviously don't know what happened man. Mark and Travis let the stardom go to their heads. They were cheating on their wives and getting drunk and doing drugs every night. They straight up told Tom that he had to choose between Blink 182 and his family. As soon as they said that Tom ran the other way because his wife and kids are the most important thing to him. Tom had a newborn that he never met for over a year because he was forced to be on tour for so long at that time.

AVA is not an emo band first and foremost, the lyrics in their songs do not focus on despair and agony in fact they represent the complete opposite. Second, Blink's last album did show the band maturing, when i said Blink focused on teenage issues I was referring to the majority of their songs not one album.
"Dammit", "what's my age again", "first date", "another girl another planet", etc.
Third, you're right Tom did leave Blink because of a personal breakdown and he formed AVA.
I love Blink, and I grew up on their music--for my entire childhood, I was entirely inspired by and hooked on "All The Small Things" every time I heard it. I love AVA, too, but I'm glad Blink's back.
But it just sounds like Tom doesn't really want it, like it's some kind of obligation just because Travis almost died--he makes it seem like his bond with Mark & Travis was nothing special compared to these suckups
i respect all of the sucess that toms gotten with AVA, but Blink was a complete breakthrough and if tom thinks that hes different than travis and mark, that just makes blink more unique. i think that tom should put way more time towards blink-182.

Blink 182 and AVA are differents types of music. Blink is like punk-rock and AVA is more alternative-space rock... I think that both are great, but AVA is a different style for any band that I listen in all my life... That band is my favorite, their own style, own kind of music... I don`t know... It`s the best!!!

Danm I miss the old tom :/ I hope he changes, honestly, I don't car for AVA. They're okay but blink will always be the band he belonges in. Him mark and travis are like brothers, ecspecially tom and mark. In the video he said how him and the guys from AVA were all the same growing up, but really, he should have mentioned mark on that one.

im sorry but, i love both blink and AVA, there both totally different bands, but since blink broke up, tom changed. at the end of blink he changed almost everything to not have contact with mark and travis, then he formed AVA while mark and travis formed +44, and in another video by this same ArtistNews Service, they had a video where it says, "tom said on his website 'modlife' that he LOVES! and MISSES! mark and travis and wish's them all the best in +44" after like 2 years with AVA. get that.

Blink 182 and AVA are 2 different types of music. just because they have the same singer doesn't mean they were ever meant to be compared to each other like so many people are doing. I like both blink and AVA respectively. sometimes i feel like more punk rock music that I've been a fan of for a very long time and other times i like the instrumental majesty-like quality that angels and airwaves presents. Both bands are great in their own ways.

Mark grew up just the same as Tom. They even said, they were such good friends because they were basically the same person in two different bodies. They also said they were so glad to meet each other because they had been looking for someone who liked the same music as them, and they were both into exactly the same bands. Annoying how Tom has suddenly started describing them as different people. Everyone know Mark and Tom and way more similar than the guys in AVA.

@guitarGUNFIGHTxxx yeah, that's definitely true. my fanfare left angels and airwaves after listening to we don't need to whisper. the adventure and the war were "neat" songs but the cd was just way too repetitive to listen to for more than 1 or 2 times. I think the silversun pickups are one of the best bands right now. i can see a similar style to AVA's in their music but it has so much more substance to it. If you haven't heard of them give them a listen! They're AWESOME live!

@Uglypan You obviously don't know what happened man. Mark and Travis let the stardom go to their heads. They were cheating on their wives and getting drunk and doing drugs every night. They straight up told Tom that he had to choose between Blink 182 and his family. As soon as they said that Tom ran the other way because his wife and kids are the most important thing to him. Tom had a newborn that he never met for over a year because he was forced to be on tour for so long at that time.

AVA is not an emo band first and foremost, the lyrics in their songs do not focus on despair and agony in fact they represent the complete opposite. Second, Blink's last album did show the band maturing, when i said Blink focused on teenage issues I was referring to the majority of their songs not one album.
"Dammit", "what's my age again", "first date", "another girl another planet", etc.
Third, you're right Tom did leave Blink because of a personal breakdown and he formed AVA.

I love Blink, and I grew up on their music--for my entire childhood, I was entirely inspired by and hooked on "All The Small Things" every time I heard it. I love AVA, too, but I'm glad Blink's back.
But it just sounds like Tom doesn't really want it, like it's some kind of obligation just because Travis almost died--he makes it seem like his bond with Mark & Travis was nothing special compared to these suckups
