there is no best car. there are cars for different uses (after all who wants to tow their boat with a carrera gt, or move furniture in a 458 italia...).

all one can really state is one's opinion on one's favourite car (and that ought to differ depending on what one wants to do with it).

it's supposed to be fast, but it's supposed to be refined and luxurious, which adds a ton of weight. the w16 engine weighs a lot anyway and while it supplies the power with 4 turbochargers for the great acceleration figures, it's overall weight will always make it sub par in race conditions compared to lighter cars.

the bugatti uses 2 audi v8's not 3 vw golf v6's. the aim of the car project wasn´t to build a pure race care either. a carrera gt is the implementation of a road legal race car. the veyron, while going 253 mph (407 kph) and having everyone being too fixated upon that, is in concept a gran tourismo.

No...definetly not. here in Germany VW(buys Bugatti and Name) didn`t want any competition @ our german standard sportscar test Nordschleife. Car is weighting over 4000lbs..it has @Nordschleife no chance against a Turbo GT2 and neiter against a stock Nissan GTR 35. So there`s only the acceleration...0-300kph 17,7sec nut 30 years earlier a Porsche 917/30 driving CanAm-Series makes with 2 WheelDrive 0-200mph(320kph) in 12,3seconds. veyron is shit..he uses 3 VW Golf VR6 engines coupled..really shit

I saw the same episode. VRAlexander let Tanner hold the keys for a drive. I think that may be the second appearance on Super Cars Exposed, he also raced in the Super car Shootout wear he beat Claus's (CEC) 997 Techart Porsche. VR was racing in a modified Porsche Turbo.

That was REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER... It's about 18% less than crank horsepower...which is used to determine the 605hp factory rating for the US. Off the nitrous my CGT has about 740 crank (bhp) horsepower. Hope this clarifies the confusion. =)

His car is making about 595 hp at the rear wheels which is close to 700 at the crank. A stock CGT is 612 hp at the crank and maybe 500 hp at the wheels.

The car comes on rev very quickly....remember, there are ten throttle bodies on the CGT...throttle response is instant!

Yes, and it also has to do with the surface...once I got her corner weight and balanced with me in the drivers seat, most of that issue went away =0

For Alex: It is hard to tell from the video, but it looked like the dyno calculated a power output for CGT of 580ish HP. The U.S. specs I think are around 605 HP. I realize you have driven the car quite a bit and modified it as well. Would you give some more details on the HP and torque figures? Any general insights you might have would be greatly appreciated by a fellow fanatic. If my figures are wrong, my bad. I want to upgrade my CGT and I am still learning the ins and outs of the trade.

The Carrera GT makes 612, HP. But that is only the engine. By the time the HP hits the wheels it loses about 10-70 HP. Alex's probably makes 640 HP, but the rear wheels only make 595 RWhp. A stock CGT only has about 578 RWHP.

As for the ECU, after spending more than 55K on my new system the car wound up at GMG...they are installing the new 60-80 diff along with the custom built transmission and redone suspension... I am heading down there for their Long Beach Grand Prix party tonight and I will have Fabryce get in touch with you for resolution.
