The time to rise has been engaged You're better best to rearrange I'm talking here to me alone I listen to the finest worksong Your finest hour Your finest hour Another chance has been engaged To throw Thoreau and rearrange You are following this time I beg you not beg to rhyme (blow your horn) Your finest hour (blow your horn) Your finest hour Take your instinct by the reins Your better best to rearrange What we want and what we need Has been confused, been confused (blow your horn)
i'm only 16 and i remember hearing great R.E.M. songs when i was a kid on the radio. I can even remember hearing bands like Pearl Jam and Collective Soul on the radio when i was 4!( i never listened to disney crap, my parents didn't care what station was on then) Now u have to search 4 certain stations 2 find great older Alternative rock bands. In Atlanta, there's only two for that, 99X and DaveFM
@GAdawgsfan93 Yup, I'm 18 now and radio is terrible these days, it's always to steps behind. Luckily, there's internet. Try looking on Allmusic . com > Genre > Alternative Rock. I bet you'll find some great bands. Another way is to find out what the influences were of the bands you love.

One of the best from one of the best bands...ever. I only got to see REM live once (Green), but it was one of the best shows ever. Stipe played the spoons, the megaphone, and wore the Tyvek suit...
and for you corporate mofo's, try to fit the idea of love into the equation of "art for profit".
pay the musicians who don't get paid for their work. the brothers and sisters who have worked their assess off and still can't pay the rent to this day. the notion of starving artist is not only bullshit, it's immoral. art is more than a corporate investment.
when do all the other artists get paid? when do they get paid?
@541967 - I appreciate this period covers principally the IRS years and maybe their first couple of albums for Warners, but I'm inclined to think they lost it after they left IRS. Document (their last album for IRS) was pretty much their artistic and creative peak. Just an opinion, mind.
In my estimation (and this is just my critical assessment at work) "Green" was slightly superior to its immediate predecessor and at least on par with "Life's Rich Pageant." "Out Of Time" (despite any flaws) is a very good (if not great) effort which in turn is equivalent to "Reckoning" just as "Automatic For The People" is to "Murmur." Whatever the case- I'm sure we can agree that the remaining trio just isn't what it once was.
Sometimes I have no idea what he is saying or what it means, but I remain mesmerized!

why are rem videos being pulled?
from young teenager to present 41 year old, i grew up with rem's music. these videos are performance art.
keep them up for a little while for christ sake.
nobody will buy your music if they don't love it first.
this is one of your best songs.

For a period of roughly 12 years- Berry, Buck, Mills, and Stipe were the best band in the world.
