Under no circumstances should taxpayer money be used to fund Voter Registrations. If you can Vote you Can Register Yourself it is pretty simple and easy to do.

As cynical as it sounds, most politicians only want what they feel will benefit them or their group. If the Left/Right Wing feels that Acorn is going to enfranchise enough people who would not have voted before who may not vote for them, then they will oppose it. Vote early if you can, you will still face lines, but hopefully not as bad as it will be on election day.

That is not completely true. Our voting law does have rules about voting, example citizenship is one of the requirement. DMV will allow you to register to vote, but that does not verify anything about your citizen status, 2nd is the convicted felon who not fully discharge. But you are definately right about 1 person 1 vote. Before I was naturalize, I had been vested in jury duty. You know juries are pulled from the register voter pool right. Not here to support MCcain but to clearify an issue.
