Zul'jin got the Forest Trolls to join the Horde. When Zul'jin heard that the Horde accepted the Blood (high) Elves after they abused him during the second war. He vowed to take revenge on everybody. First the Elves than the rest of the Horde. Basically like he said, "He hates everybody" and he wont accept being part of the same horde that allowed the elves who took so much from the trolls be an ally of his people. Can anyone blame him for hating the Horde after giving an eye and an arm?

Zul'jin's definitely one of the best lore characters there is. This insight into him via the trailer is truly epic.

For all those talking about Troll regeneration, the regrowing of whole limbs is D&D canon.

Warcraft seems to take the tack of recovering from wounds rapidly, not regrowing removed parts.

4 the history:

elves didn't want to join any alliance at first cuz they think they're superior to humans. but when trolls came they had to. after that humans think: we sent big armies, elves should be grateful; elves think: you didn't fight trolls 4 us, we beat trolls together, plus teaching dumb humans magic is repay enough. so humans are kind of pissed at elves and think they may betray. Garithos was a douch but his actions are understandable.

As far as i know blood elfs once where night elfs, they opted to follow the path of magic n such..got "corrupted" and well, the Elfs and the blood elfs just happen to disagree and thus kill each other.

I'm sure theres a ton of lore and history and all sorts on it but that to me, seems to be the jist of it. Someone correct me if wrong.

The blood elves used to be the high elves, they look exactly the same. Now they were allied with the humans and fought the scourge etc. When Arthas became a death knight, the elves became confused, because Arthas led an army to destroy the sunwell, the elves arcane energy source. Eventually it was thought that even tho arthas was deathknight, he was still alliance, and therefore the humans betrayed the elves, so they switched to the horde.

Just a note to all those who said that without the blood elves Horde would get the Amani. The Amani was part of the forest trolls, which were wild creatures who only cared for their ownself. They only aided the Horde briefly during the first war seeing that helping them could mean potentially fruitful. But when the Horde was defeated the amani quickly abandoned the Horde and left the war. o if the blood elves didnt join the Horde, the alliance would have an xtra race(Draeneis) for free.
