  • 1:01 WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT

  • James must have been huffing helium before this concert

  • @Traductus5972 Actually James was trying to sound like the lead songer of Diamond Head... I like Diamond Head, But I prefer the Kill Em All Version of all of theses songs simply because James' Vocals were MUCH better

  • I love how he intentionally makes his voice squeak XDD

  • Both bands are great, in their own ways, i prefer both bands earlier music.

  • HAIL TO DAVE!!!! i respect both megadeth and metallica equally... But this song far outweighs The Four Horsemen... *METAL HORNS*

    "FUCK YEAAAAHHHH!!!!!!"

  • @VikterLOKZ i think they are both cool but the the 4 horseman does have better lyrics

  • 1:01 bad ass scream

  • when u make riffs like this then you can judge the song!!! megadeth pantera and metallica 4 ever!

  • If I'm gonna fuck a Girl, then I choose "The Mechanix". If I want to Kick Someons head In I prefer "The Four Horsemen"

Catagorizing the song into a hypathetical situation always helps determine which you prefer :D

  • @choptop1218 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @MegaSeth91 Yeah, he did, until '92 when he blew out his voicebox. Now he sounds weird.

  • For all those saying it's Hetfield, at what point in his life did he sound exactly like Mustaine?

  • @Pwnzed69

Hahaa Well Dave did talk in between songs while in Metallica.

But apparently you never listened to Kill'em All, and some of Ride The Lightening ..

Just saying James when he was younger had a Higher Pitched voice

  • MEGATALLICA!!! YEAHHH!

  • I think the confusion comes cause' back in those days, Dave would do the between song rap, and James would sing

  • @whyusucksobad. You obviously have not heard any old metallica demos or bootlegs. It is clearly Hetfield that is singing.

  • is hetfield singing fools, his voice pretty much sucked on those days.

  • the four horsemen _/,,/

  • sir, this is The Mechanix.

    Four Horsemen> The mechanix.

  • @whyusucksobad jajaja hermano ya lo se xD cuidate

  • @whyusucksobad four horsemen is deffinately not better than the mechanix

  • You have your prefrences, and I have mine. I prefer to understand the lyrics and be able to take in the sweet chords. I do love the mechanix too.

  • whoever got the tapes from their demos are the luckiest bastards alive

  • @alexithereaper

Actually, I just realized the explanation I gave you wasn't entirely right. See FINPutkonen's comment for the correct story.

  • lars double base is pretty nice here

  • The song was written by Metallica when Mustaine was part of the band. When he was kicked out and formed Megadeth, both bands changed the song a little and Metallica renamed it and Megadeth kept the original name.

  • Mustaine wrote this when he was about 16 then he went to MetallicA => Kicked! MetallicA kept the song but "modified" it a bit and Mustaine kept the original and put the cool intro into the beginning... Im a MetallicA fan for life but gotta admit that I like the Mechanix more and loved it even more if it had the slow part in the middle...

  • besides nobody throws a fuck yeah into a song like that better than Het

  • Metal up your Ass live is 1000x better than all of the early demos. Sounds like a fusion of Megadeth, Metallica, and booze.

  • James is fucking WASTED. He says "all four on the floor" SIX times through the song. How ironic that all four members of Metallica probably spent the night on the floor passed out from so much booze :-)

  • Mustaine is singing not James.

  • @whyusucksobad Sorry man its James. The style is too similar. Dave mightve done a little bit of backing vocals on the demos but never actively sang in any major fashion. You have to keep in mind that James probably wasn't even shaving yet when he sang this and was a very late bloomer. Yeah its easy to mix up with Dave's naturally high voice that tends to shriek and snarl but make no mistake this is a young James Hetfield thats blasted out of his mind on alcohol

  • this si a real cd? o dam i guess im missing one of there cds :/.

  • same here

  • is this on a bootleg?

  • Mustaine+Metallica demos changed my life :D

  • James is like 16 here. Metallica became famous in 1983 with Kill 'em All. Only 1500 cds were produced. James was 17 then.

  • James Allan Hetfield, born 3.8.-63.

He was 19 when this was recorded.

    Check the facts before posting

  • no james was 17 when metallica was formed in 1981

  • where's hit the lights????

  • It's called no life til' leather.

  • i meant metal up your ass, i have no life til leather

  • this song kicks ass! And for those wondering , this is definitely hetfield, because mustaine never was metallica's vocalist.

  • correction, Mustaine DID do vocals sometimes... but mostly back up... One of the main problems with the band at the time was that there were two distinct frontmen, (these were the days before Kirk) where Dave was the lead guitarist... by the way, Mustaine wrote this song in its entirety... he wrote most of Kill Em' All.

  • well stop shittin on these people ...he didn't wrote most of kill em all ...i just hate how dumb people like u keep exaggerate things ..mustaine wrote ..The mechanix..Jump in the fire (not entirety )...phantom lord

    Fuck u ..

  • 2 things wrong...

1: Dave never sang for metallica he has said that and james and lars have confirmed..

2: Dave wrote 4 songs and the album consists of 10 songs... 4/10 is not over half thats less mate. and 2 of the songs was just a solo so you can say he wrote 2 songs thats it... and 2 for RTL maybe no confirmation there being as they recorded the demo in 83 after dave left... except for when hell freezes over he wrote the intro into mid way

  • fuck yeah!! GREAT SONG!!

the hoursemen are drawring nearer to Mexico !!! 4,6,7/6/09 yeah!!!!

  • hey this sounds like the mechanix demo for megadeth only slower

  • um...thats because it is...

  • Metallica played it First. Dave Wrote it. He took it over to Megadeth. Metallica created "The Four Horsemen" Using Dave's Shit.

    Simple.

  • actually thats wrong... Panic played it 1st then dave took it over to metallica and then dave got kicked and metallica made it better that simple

  • Panic? Never heard of 'Em. what was their version called?

  • its daves 1st band and i was call the Mechanix

  • Ok But Dave Still Wrote though. Was Panic any Good?

  • yea he wrote it but i dont think they ever recorded that would be something to research on

  • @choptop1218 well, they played "Mechanix" as a band as a whole. As metallica the Band. Not Dave Mustaines song that only he can play. I think it rightfully belongs to both of them.

  • @Tobarxp No Right yeah I'm not saying that at all. I'm just Saying Dave Wrote it While in Metallica (you're absolutly Right,) and they did play it as a band as can be found on the Metal up Your Ass Demo or on youtube.

I'm just sayin' he Took "The Mechanix" Over to Megadeth & Metallica Recreated it as "The Four Horsemen". But then there's this undocumented arguement about Dave telling them not to use his stuff but they did anyway kinda thing.

  • @choptop1218 uhm... Dave wrote "the mechanix" when he was 15016 years old... the same with "jump in the fire"... believe me!:)

  • @choptop1218 15-16 years old ***

  • @evilmaniac999 Yeah thanks, didn't realize I threw an 0 in there. Shit appearently Dave's 15,016 years old, Goddamn. :D

  • @choptop1218 I still like Metallicas version waaay better.

  • @Trevguy00 That's cool, tuff call for me.

  • @choptop1218 This is sad. You made me cry.

  • Old Metallica FTW!!

  • This gig was the first time Metallica met Kirk and was also Rons last time playin with Metallica. Hahaha you can tell James is drunk as hell!

  • This is Hetfield, but he is YOUNG, maybe even pre-pubescent.

  • He's like 18-19 here.

  • c est dave mustaine dans metallica en 1982 avant d'être viré

  • Nope, it's Hetfield

  • Well if it is, it doesn't sound like him at all. And I've heard every Metallica song there is to know what his voice sounds like. It sounds a lot more like Mustaine. Also Metallica played The Mechanix a lot slower than this version, which sounds like a live version of Megadeth playing it.

  • Hetfield also used other vocals before that...so I don't think you heard enough, check out the Mechanix video in the related videos if you want the proof that it's James and not Dave

  • its def hetfield, his voice was winey was fuck in the early days very similar to daves

  • can u put up the hit the lights from the show.

  • fucking agressive. just loving it! damn gotta give 5 stars!!
