Great video! I especially enjoyed the many references made to us, your audience, telling us that this good news applies to us! Too bad about the blood/sin imperfection, but perfection awaits us heavenward. May God bless you, your work and those about whom you care.
@mrsmomcat Just because an apple is red does not mean all red things are apples. False teaching creates division precisely *with* true teaching, in an attempt to discredit true teaching and destroy faith in it. To know what to say about Luther, once must compare what he taught to what the Scriptures say. Only then can one tell whether it was he or papal Rome that rifted the Church by insisting on error as if it were God's own Truth.
Pelagius is making a comeback too. The Atlanta Episcopal Diocese entertained a resolution to rehabilitate him, and recognize him for his contributions to the faith. The resolution did not past this time around. Unfortunately, folks do not give up their false beliefs easily. I am sure we will hear about this again.
I would suggest an easier way to refute JWs (Jehovah's Witnesses) is to ask them to look up John 1:1 in their INTERLINEAR (where Greek and English are side by side) ... and see what THAT translation says ... GOD (not "a God"). Bingo!!!

How do the Jehovah's Witnesses (and Mormons) get around Jesus' statement in John 8:58? εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Ἰησοῦς· ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, πρὶν Ἀβραὰμ γενέσθαι ἐγὼ εἰμί.
John 8:58 (KJV) Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Mitt Romney even went so far in his speech to say that he served as a "pastor" in his church. Anyone who knows anything about Mormons knows that they do not have "pastors". Being deceptive I think so.
Shows how specific greek is. I guess in greek you would say something like: This presentation of a video shows us as people how specific the language of greek is as a language. :P
Love the Big Bang Theory clips... too bad the show turned into everyone hopping in bed all the time. The Characters are great. I used to walk to a friend's house through Alaskan blizzards (no, seriously) every Monday to watch the show... as I did not own a tv at the time. Now to finish watching the WE video.
You said that the 3 things that do not make us to be the children of god are sin, our flesh and our will. The ESV translates the 3 things as blood, will of the flesh, will of man. NIV translates them as natural decent, human decision and a husbands will. What exactly is going on there?
@Revfiskj So blood should rightly be understood as "human decent"? We are not saved by descending from Abraham. Will of the flesh is our own human will, which is bound and not free and can not make us children of God no matter how many times we respond to alter calls. Will of man could be understood as our parents' (father's) will? That baptism saves us is not on account of our parents authority or choice to bring us to baptism but rather because the will, work and promise of God.
@antsterr3 Sounds pretty good. :) Although I might link "will of the flesh" to works "and "will of man" to our actual will/desire/mind. One could also take "blood" to refer to the blood of bulls and goats. All of this is, of course, circumvented by the "blood" and "flesh" and "will" of Jesus who is, in fact, a man, and does, in fact, save. :) John is talking about our end of things at this point. Good stuff.

If false teaching can be recognized by its tendency to create division, what does that say about Martin Luther?

@antsterr3 I messed up. Blood and sin are very close in spelling in Greek. I just goofed.
