Also, try tororo! It's banged up potato starch, I think. It's about as slimy as natto but tastes slightly less like death. The Japanese grad students I was hanging out with convinced me to put quite a bit of it on my soba and, well, I don't like wasting food.

I actually eat do raw eggs in the U.S. all the time in the form of homemade egg nog. Should I not be doing that? It is delicious. If I became seriously ill because of egg nog, well, I don't know any better way to become seriously ill.

OMG. I love UNI. I love it so much that It's my favorite food in Sushi. But it's biased if I say it, since I'm half Japanese and Chinese, fluent in Japanese, and have been eating asian food all my life.

Cow tongue IS good :3 I may live in the States but coming from an asian family still means I get lots of those "just eat it and don't ask" dishes that turn out to be really good. Oh God... Uni... when I had it, it tasted like eating fermented sea mud. It was at a more traditional Japanese restaraunt in the states, and my hubby and I were getting adventurous! BUT I LOVE takoyaki, and raw quail egg on top of tobiko on a bed of rice (wrapped in nori) is like eating creaaaaaammm SOOOO amazing. I can't wait until I have this baby so I can enjoy my raw fish and eggs again! ^_^
