  • Aaaaah, such an epically awesome track for a boss fight. Too bad Sapientia was as far as you can get from a challenge.

  • 5 people were torn to pieces by Phantasmaraneae's babies

  • I love all the orchestral tracks in this game.

They appeal to the side of me that loves everything Sunny, Angelic, and Paladin-y.

Hell, I spent more time gawking at the angels than at Bayonetta or even Jeanne.

  • Lords of Shadow wishes its music were this epic.

  • @Munchzor Lord of Shit wished its game was anything like this instead of a GOW clone

  • @AkumetsuLord If we're going to use that logic, then "God of Whore" is a big, fat rip-off of Devil May Cry.

  • @Charliem1994 wow there are still people like you who keep thinking its a rip off ever though the creator of DMC made the game...fuckin brilliant

  • @AkumetsuLord Can you read? I said God of War is a rip-off of DMC.

  • Greatest musical score, greatest combat-gameplay, greatest boss-fights, greatest female arse.

  • My favorite boss from Bayonetta is Sapientia. For 2 reasons.

    1.This music

    2.Phantasmaraneae

  • 5 people got nom'd

...On a serious note, this song kicks ass. All the Cardinal Virtue fight themes do.

  • @IidoTheFox

    LOL!!!

    Nom'd LOL!!!

  • id tap that

  • 1:10 - 1:24 epicness level can't be measured by mortal ears

    1:37 - 1:55 epic piano is epic

  • I listen to this while doing math homework.

  • @frostwave01 Haha. I also listen to this song while doing math.

  • Oh yeah, epic godly battle!

  • download? Anyone?

  • The description says ... because there's nothing left to be said after it plays. :P

  • WHY IS THIS NOT NOMINATED for Best Original Score of 2010?!!

  • @SpazBunnyStudios I bet you this game won't eve be nominated for game of the year. To me's its the best game of the year.

  • @stacetheface47 It's a shame. This game didn't get enough publicity :(

  • @SpazBunnyStudios Like Okami and Viewtiful.

  • @18bryflo Just about to say Hideki Kamiya previous games had the same thing happen to them. Although this game sold considerbly better then those two but comparebly less to games like Halo reach and black ops which is too bad.

  • @SpazBunnyStudios That is so true. Bayonetta is highly underrated.

  • I come for the gameplay, but I stay for the music.

  • Love love love this track so much!!!

  • EPIC!

    Bayonetta II can come! *_*

  • Oh no, giant light thing on the water!!! How does it float?

  • Epic music, epic boss, but Phantom killed him...

  • @Chauzenoux It wasn't Phantom, it was phantasmaranae.

  • The boss music for this game is so damn amazing. WHY?? Anyway, the Prudence virtue... *sigh* Sapientia always did complain about the way Jeanne tried to handle things.

  • its like every epic Bayonetta song i hear sound spanish to me^_^

    (see lyrics below)

  • hey, e~ aparece fajo contigo.

sobre el tonto yo le voy a olerlo, devore.

hey~ camino, Sapientia termina en fuego

deme dil mi en mi, Do~na!!!~ devore

    ven aqui hotdog!!!~ te voy a co~o~o~o~o~o~o~o~o~melte o!!!

  • @micnugets dang it how do u know the lyrics i need them

  • @Adrale4gotten like I said, it was all in my head, i made up the lyrics, sorry^_^

  • @micnugets ya no puedo escuchar la de balder sin tus "letras", y ahora sales con esta, jajajajajaja

  • @Spacejoe07 verdad

  • @micnugets wait hotdog??????

  • omg 1:12 - 1:25 just open a light from heaven in my house

  • So I was in the bathroom taking a dump and this song comes out random in my ipod and a DRAGON CAME OUT OF MY ASS!!.

  • Ooh lordy. This boss battle. Never did see it coming. But the soundtrack was damn awesome anyway.

  • the chorus is amazing

  • I know this game has a custom (flexible) soundtrack option (at least on XBox 360), and I can't mess with this song... some of them are awesome, like this one, and some aren't really up to par

  • This is my fav boss battle bgm in the game. woot

  • I don't understand why it sounds so victorious at some points, like ''Earth has been saved from doom'' kind of! It confuses me to no end... still, this soundtrack is spectacular.

  • @dinmamma3000 Because it's an angel's song, and that's exactly what angels think they are doing. It's only fitting that an angel's theme song would sound self-righteous, no?

  • @DarkTiesandRibbons Well, yeah, but still, it really confuses me.

  • @CloneSaiga

The only thing that I see besting Bayonetta in everything in the near and far future is another Bayonetta game.(as impossible as that may sound, nothing is impossible for Kamiya.)

P* set the bar WAY too high for any other franchise to beat.

The whiny pikers that say the game's storyline isn't that good have to be bloody ashamed of themselves.

If they had read Antonio's notes, the Hierarchy of the Angels and the book about the Demons, they'd see exactly how much backstory there is.

  • @UshiromiyaReiji The story is decent but the way it is communicated is pretty horrible. The thing about Bayonetta that was a turn off for a lot ppl (despite its many qualities) was obviously the cheesy crap-tastic dialogues and characters. I mean I wouldn't mind if it was a low budget game back in 1995 but now the overall storytelling and presentation just felt silly and boring.

Good thing the gameplay was excellent and the overall level design very original (levels, boss battles etc).

  • @IamAlwaysRight

    cool story, bro.

  • @UshiromiyaReiji Just stating facts friend. You'd realize that if your opinion wasn't so biased ;)

  • @IamAlwaysRight

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Why would my opinion be biased?

  • @IamAlwaysRight

I suppose you both have two different opinions then

  • Epic setting, epic-looking boss, epic face down.

    I mean, COME ON.

Giant water-lizard-thing VS sexy lady on a makeshift surfboard.

  • Just music has some sort of mighty feeling to it, the way to victory.

  • It just blows me away how the boss is able to stand on water like that, kind of freaked me out, though. And the whirlpool? Epic.

  • I love this music!

Someone, please teach lyrics of this music.

  • I think this boss would have been better suited in a Metal Gear game lol

  • The best song to fight against any boss IMO

  • this game suprised me with the soundtrack one of the best soundtracks in a game ive ever played

  • if you don't count the random battle music, i mean the music is cheeky and fun but it's gets repetitive after a while

  • wtf failed spam is fail.

  • lmao why would you play this at a birthday xD poor child... XD

  • The child would either be peeing himself crying or if he were older, maybe the parents thought he was the devil or something. It'd be creepy if it ever happened.

  • The piano in this is AMAZING. Like the rest of the music.

  • the spider... its the one from dmc1...dont remember his name but he had lava inside him.awesome!

  • @oniuserjh Phantom was his name and the hair spider has phantom as part of his name as well meaning its a resemblance indeed :)

  • Does anyone have the lyrics to this song? I think it's latin, I could hear "E Domine" in the beginning ("Oh Lord")

  • @Yazeed

    Latin or Enochian, I'd say.

I wish I had the lyrics, though.

  • The Virtue battles are my favorite part of the game, such majesty to the music, not to mention you have what looks like the Titanic with legs trying to EAT YOU.

Who else got Jaws flashbacks when Sapientia dove under and the huge ass fin came out?

  • I definitely recommend this song to fishermen

  • I don't.

Imagine being out in deep water and suddenly hearing this song play from absolutely nowhere.

    I'd crap myself. o_o

  • sucks this EPIC song isnt longer! Best song in the game by far.

  • @IamAlwaysRight I say it ties with "You May Call Me Father"

  • @jibber102 very true

  • the bosses names where meant to be the name of virtues in latin or some ancient language:

    sapientia - wisdom

    fortitudo - strength

    temperantia - temperance

    iusticia - justice

  • That is correct, the four cardinal virtues.

Three more was later added to provide a dualistic approach to the seven deadly sins.

  • @Ukimos Maybe if there is another Bayonetta we will fight the last 3 then. As well as fight some demons from Inferno. And Dante from DMC could be a bonus boss and be good pals and a sparring parter with rodin.

  • It just occurred to me that each of those four bosses has a natural element

    Fortitudo ~ Fire

    Temperantia ~ Wind

    Justitia ~ Earth/life

    Sapientia ~ Water

  • This makes me think of the Sisters of Battle.

  • @TheBahahaMaster Ya know i thought the exact same thing, those fanatics would fit in quite well.

  • Was this the scene in the ocean with the giant sea beast?

  • Yes this was the fight in the ocean.

  • And with the hair spiders (lulz, Jack and Grif).

  • yep, the cardinal virtue of prudence

  • badass chorus

  • Definitely one of the best tracks I've heard for a while... really like the full-length one.

  • 0:00 - 2:10.

    Anti fail.

  • one of the best:)

  • ahh im looking for the song you hear in the shop dunno the name

  • "The Gates of Hell"

  • i found it now, but thanks

  • My favorite boss in the game! Fighting a huge monster like this in the middle of the ocean with THIS music was the most badass thing I have seen in a long time.

  • @iAmbiant lol dont u mean heard not seen?

  • 1:10 - 1:25 epic bells of heaven!

  • @IamAlwaysRight

Yep u are right epic bells of heaven its like the first thing i noticed

  • 1:35 - 1:56

    WIN.

  • @Scoodlz ah no no no

    its: 0:00 - 2:10

    WIN!

  • Definitely, but my favorite part in particular is that piano solo. =P

  • God, the piano solo gets me every time. I intentionally let this fight drag on just to hear it the first time around.

  • It's so awesome... the water boss Sapientia is Latin for knowledge.... fighting an abstraction like that in such an epic setting is one of the most memorable moments in my gaming life. Outstanding game and beautiful soundtrack.

  • awesome bro this game have an epic soundtrack it give you the feeling of an epic battle or a final battle is like man i just have no words i love bayonetta ost =)

  • Cool song but do you have the music that plays during the 1st trailer of the game and at the end of the demo cause i can't find that song and it's awsome

  • I'm getting similar vibes to Shadow of the Colossus here and it's Superb

  • Blows away all other soundtracks

  • I wouldn't go that far. Chaos Legion, although a mediocre DMC clone, had an amazing gothic soundtrack. Shadow Hearts pt. 1 and even 2 also had great soundtracks, although pt. 1's final boss battle music was epic. Valkyrie Profile 1 and 2 also have a soundtrack comparable and in some instances better than Bayonetta, especially when facing Loki in Asgard (VP1) or Lezard Valeth (VP2), along with seraphic gate music. FF8 also had memorable ones like ultimecia and time compression among others.

  • I'm betting it'll win in the video game awards for 2010 on Spike!
