It's hard to choose - there's so much in Israel. I was surprised *not* to see mention of the Kotel/Western Wall in Jerusalem. Only one in the world and certainly a huge tourist site. And then as far as archeology goes, the National Park in Bet She'an is pretty spectacular. And to combine archeological interest with cooling off on a ho summer's day, how about the Dan Park? And the Kineret/Sea of Galilee?
there is a lot of history there i cant wait to visit.

-USS Liberty of the US navy attacked by Israeli air force and navy torpedo boats. 34 US soldiers killed, 170 severely wounded
april 12 1938 - may 3 1948 ~ British soldiers, politicians, diplomats, civilians killed and 1000's severely wounded
-British headquarters [king david hotel] bombed
-2 British sergeants kidnapped, hung on a tree in a eucalyptus grove, bodies were then booby trapped
if this is the way Israel treats it's American and British allies, i would not want to be their enemy ..

Oops! That should be "a *hot* summer's day." Mt. Hermon is a big attraction too, particularly in the winter, of course.
