  • Estradasphere <3 Love them!!!

  • Epic drum solo *_*

  • Beautiful.

  • why should i watch some stupid movie or TV show wednesday night? better watch this video a couple times in a row, time runs way faster than while you re watching whatever is on!

  • stand up bass players are real men

  • maybe time is relative and these guys prove it

  • Best band I've ever heard.

Do they still exist or is there any chance that I could see them live someday? :(

  • @masteredd23 Sadly, Estradasphere is no more, but that won't stop us from holding out hope for a reunion!

  • from skratch too lol

  • my computer is trippen I made a rap beat and it pops up as your group in the auto tag wtf lmao

  • The violinist goes to the wrong section at 0:30, notice the scolding look from the sax player at 1:00.

  • @alarmhead10 No, that's where the violin solo is supposed to be. They always played it like that

  • I'm dismaying ♥

  • Estradasphere and Alamaailman vasarat would be great together!

  • Is music Baby, just music :)

    Magic Music

  • This is the best thing to happen in the history of things happening....

  • 6 people listen to Radio Disney.

  • what a ride!

  • They use fractions while dividing tempo, chromatism based in the progression of tonalities rather than just timbre like most of the bands with similar setups and actually employ harmonies different than the 3ths and 5ths: that´s more than you can ask for in 99´9% of metal bands.

But actually this is just a techinal compilation of known music: if this was just the "beggining" for them then I´m dying to hear what´s coming next.

  • At Estradasphere gigs, you have a leave a foot between you and the next person in front. To leave room for when the jaw drops. Superb bunch of musicians!

  • Filthiest musicians on the planet?...Yup!!!!!!!!!

  • This is probably the craziest (in a good way) music I've ever heard. Sometimes people will describe a band as "beyond genres" but this is the only group I've ever heard that actually lives up to that description.

  • 5:30 is outta this world! :D

  • The VIOLIN SOLO, man!

  • *¬*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can imagine people walking into this video expecting the Temple of the Dog version.

  • @TwoCows23 lol

  • omg i forgot how much i love these guys.... on the recorded version its 19 minutes, here they start twice as fast and its 23.. lmfao... i cant wait for the new orange tulip conspiracy to come out...

  • Got 20 mins for awesomeness?

  • utterly utterly amazingly talented people. 5 stars is nowhere near enough.

  • one of my favorite bands of all time.. i saw them in a very small venue in chicago and they let me dance on stage because of my energy. it was awesome.

  • Yeah Marco! Always good to revisit this stuff

  • Few pwople Knows them in Mexico, but We love them!!!

  • Why don't more people know about these guys?!

  • @satchifunkalus wow, you suck

  • i saw estradasphere open for secret chiefs 3 at the casbah in san diego... i still think it's one of the best shows i've seen

  • The violinist has a Subway shirt!

  • No, he has a Dubway shirt. Big difference!

  • My mistake. A Subway shirt would have been pretty great.

  • Do you have Dubway live? i can't find it anywhere!

  • @aboxofjosh I have an mp3 of the best dubway I've ever heard at Moes Alley in Santa Cruz. I can send it to you. message me.

  • god i would have killed to be there!

  • Fucking WOW! I love this with my deepest heart.

  • Again : Thank you !

  • awesome stuff

  • LOVE IT !!!! Así de simple....

  • Awesome video! I was actually at this very show. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

  • waaaaaa desde chile su mayor fan !!!

  • son envidiables. me encantan

  • On the album ("It's Understood") there are some full blown metal sections, which they don't play in this live version.

  • I really don't see how this is metal, but these guys are incredibly talented.

  • You guys, don't fight, it's both metal and jazz. It also has rock, blues, etno and some other nice shit in it. Gotta love estradasphere.

  • Funny. At the show (or perhaps it was one of the other Estradasphere shows at Kuumbwa), they claimed to be the first group to play metal at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center.

It is both metal and jazz. Great stuff!

  • Whatever they play, they're awesome.

  • Я люблю эту песну

  • don't fool yourself - this IS metal

  • no, fuck you its jazz

  • so.....amazing!

  • Dayum they got the groove!

  • This is way better than metal, and I know metal.

  • They actually use Metal...a lot. And metal likes this. This and Metal aren't that far off... except accessibility maybe. Which might be why you said that...

  • It depends really on what type of metal and what we mean by 'better'. When I said that I meant that the songwriting and musicianship is a lot better than what you find in metal most of the time:Death Metal, Black Metal, Power Metal, GrindCore, DeathCore, whatever trivial subgenre of metal you can mention. The only type of metal that comes close is Progressive Metal, and you very well might call Estradasphere progressive metal some of the time.

  • unqualified comment.

  • Unqualified, baseless statement.

  • This is sooooooo cool!

  • i'd rate this video SEVEN stars if i could :D

  • fuck!!

    amazing!

  • These guys are the absolute best. Truly a band of virtuosos!

  • BRAVO!

  • Estradasphere is not really a band anymore at this point. Very sad indeed. Who knows, maybe someday they'll tour again.

  • really?

  • what are you stupid?

    they are still touring..

im kinda sure they just got back from a tour in europe

  • waiting to see some shots with the wide angle lens...when does it show? thanks

  • this band is totally off the hook i cant believe they dont tour nationwide...or do they? id def go see em.

  • i saw these guys live in san francisco back in 2007... and was completely blown away. they didn't play this song :( , but they put on a show to remember :D

  • where has this band been my whole life?

  • I got to freestyle(!) with these cats like ten years ago. They're so open to anything! I also played with Tim in a college orchestra and a small Chamber trio. I love these guys. I forgot how much I loved this band until I stumbled across this video. Truly mind blowing brilliance.

  • awesome!

  • fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • ive never heard of these guys before and when i saw that the song was 23 minutes long i was thinkin to myself im probably not gonna be listening to this for very long, but could not turn away! with every minute i was more and more astonished, i listened to all 23 minutes and then watched it for a second time, absolutely amzing, pure unrealistic talent!!

  • @Silversteele13 I did the same! My friend has a similar music taste to me and sent me a link to this video. I watched it and then decided to make a coffee and watch it again! What a great band and song!

  • I got chilllls!! Amazing.

  • When they playing in New Orleans in '05, I grabbed Tim outside and requested this song. He said they hadn't played it in month, but would ask the guys. They then played a 30 minute extd version which melted the faces of the 25 people in attendence. best concert ever. best band ever.

  • holly shit! awesome music by awesome musicians!!!!!!!

  • When I first heard this album, this song being track 1, it completely changed my outlook on music today. I had finally found a band of ridiculous musicians combining their talents for the better, not just trying to show each up. I miss John, I wish he was still in the band :(

  • awesome!

  • I really fear that with John gone, they will become just another band of show offs.

  • Blowing up my mind

  • oooooohhhh it makes tingles down my spine.... This is AWEEESSSSSSOOOOMMMMMMMEEEEEEE!!

  • I love how he threw in the violin theme from Ken Burns' The Civil War. Excellent, if you guys haven't seen them live you are missing out!

  • They're playing it a bit too fast (much better at the album tempo) but it's still good

  • just found out about these guys about a week ago. Great stuff!!!

  • They have a sound that recieve the God!

Best of Best of Best of Best...

  • Best band ever!!! Come play in france with the whole band!!!

  • oh how I love Estradasphere

  • holy moly!

  • 11:42 and the following part. Damn, that's art.

  • Wow. They must be incredible live.

  • Fergal Hunter doesn't like this band. That makes him a cunt.

  • We all agree Fergal Hunter is a cunt.

  • so powerful. so talented!

  • no smoking orchestra meets anthony braxton

  • Fuking fantastic great band...realy awesome the violiist is great and the all rhythm is from other world

  • Estradasphere is the best music in the world ! !@!!!!!

  • estradasphere!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i thought music died until i heard this song.

  • Wow, the style is like Jean-Luc Ponty fused with a Latin type twinge, this is amazing shit to say the least.

  • holy crap. THIS is music.

  • Hah Timb breaks into Ashokan Farewell before ripping on his solo. Awesome :P

  • notice how there are so few negative comments, what negative things can you say about a band that can do everything!

  • this is the best band ever

  • what ever happened to the sax player. they came out with a new album without him and he just disappeared. too bad. they fucking rocked!

  • John "Whoolilicious!" Whooley left the band a few years ago. He is currently most active as "Mojow and the Vibration Army", a musical/artistic project with his wife Moriah.

Do a YouTube search on "Whoolilicious!" for a whole bunch of my videos that include Jon. Google "Mojow and Vibration Army" to find what they're up to now.

I filmed Vibration Army at a festival recently and hope to have some of their videos up soon.

  • @tubeituped Check out his work with his other band Orange Tulip Conspiracy.

  • that was ridiculous.

  • Dude... seriously. Go back to your 50 Cent or Linkin Park or whatever. You wouldn't recognize good music if it was a purple elephant dancing in your back yard.

  • please, don't insult me. i meant ridiculous in a good way. as in how can anyone be that awesome, it's insane.

i happen to think this is one of the best performances i've ever seen.

remove your thumbs down if possible, sir!

  • Ah, that was quite unclear. Thumbs down reversed!

  • I love LP ¬¬ but this video is so cool man dont mess wit lp ¬¬ mess with the idiot below ^^

  • Yess.. very good!

  • At one point it started to sound like Master and Commander at the beginning! They're really good!

  • These guys sound like gypsies! WILD GYPSIES!

  • i like the way the image of hunger-strike is perfectly captured in the crazy dynamics

  • my favorite band so fucking faaaaaaaar!!!!!!

  • me tooooooo

  • BRAVO BRAVO

  • So, is part of this jam or is it all already worked out?

  • there's no jam sections, its all writen music, exept solos, ofcourse

  • theyre off the hook ! i wanna learn jazz now, not for a living but jazz looks like its fun to do like after a performance

  • Estradasphere is awesome!!!

And drummer with Dimmu Borgir's T-Shirt?

    His solo was incredible!

  • when i saw dave murray i thot it's the moon-faced guitarist of iron maiden lol

  • This is the original Estradasphere. Jason, Tim, John, Timb and Dave. The most talented group of five people there will ever be.

  • yeah how good were they! best 23min 42sec ive spent infront of a computer.

I much prefer this line up to the new group with kevin kmetz etc

  • breathtaking!

  • Beautiful!
