Your point in the Arkham City review comparing City and Asylum to San Andreas and Vice City is an apt one and I had a similar reponse before even watching the video but I'd compare it more to the single-location of MGS 1 and the sprawling (possibly OTT nature) of MGS 4.
Keep up the good work as you're very, very close to 2,000 subs.
oh wow feudal japan would be amazing, but there are enough ninja games already. Not to mention I'm sick of Nobunaga's campaign being the main plot point of any game set in Feudal japan. Thousands of years of civil war and every game picks the same 30 years or whatever that nobunaga campaigned...

I think most people don't have a sufficient artistic or novelistic knowledge to properly access where this series has gone and is going. Ex. the Desmond story arc must be there, because he is the staple that pins us to the underlying plot that is developing. It was'nt added ontop of the game, the game was built for it. As for Ezio, they did an amazing job telling his story. From the second game till the short movie "Embers" you feel an emotional attachment to him, having seen his life play out.
Another excellent video and I totally agree with how they should have just left out the sci-fi part in this series, it really makes no sense in my opinion. These games really don't need it to sell since they are fun anyway.

everyone slates the games repetitive game play, but to be honest, the story is what gripped me the most, as much as i enjoyed the gameplay and a lot of the views from ALL of the games, the story just got me hooked! i even went out of my way to buy the novels and they are by far more graphic in detail compared to the games - the love interest between Catarina Sforza and Ezio say it all to be honest!

I'd like to see either a completely modern AC game, featuring Desmond becoming an actual assassin, or now that you've mentioned it, feudal Japan. Japan sounds like a particularly good fit, now that you bring it up. Great idea and an awesome video.

I really got burned on the first game it was repetitive, Altair couldn't swim, guards in light armor would climb buildings almost as fast as you did and the combat wasn't great. I think AC3 should start at the end of Czarist Russia, like around the Russo-Japanese war. That way they can explain what really happened at Tunguska.
Even though you hate Desmond/Aminus etc do you think an Assasins Creed all about Desmond set in modern times would be a good idea, using modern parkour would be pretty cool and there would be no need to switch between two different time zones. Either that or set it in Victorian London.
