i bought an exact pair at a thrift store today and tried to connect them to my ipod and it doesn't fit ...i was thinking about wiring on a different plug in place of the current one ....any suggestions as to where i can buy a premade one like ebay or something?
I thought that those Apple Pro speakers were powered (thats what that annoying outer housing is on the connector). I don't understand how (or if) you are powering them in your converter?
Clever use of the G4 motherboard components. Plenty of those lying around now.
Yeah i tested them out with just reg amp power before I started the build, and they sounded fine. So when the build was finished I was very happy with the results. I have about 100w going to the center channel, and they do great. I think I did turn down the db on the amp for the center though, other wise they would distort, form too much power.

My setup is quiet simple. I have only two wires running to the speakers and I use them as my Center Channel for my Home Theater.
