my friend you are crazy. but one of those things in my mind where i thought Hmm i wonder. now youve settled that. i wont try it. btu hell i know it can be done if one is so inclined
I think that get used to drive and look in the screen is not easy...Maybe if they place near the windscreen in front of the driver is more practical...
They have roads similar to this in Mexico. The only difference is that they do not have any barriers to keep you from going off the side. You can kiss your ass good by as you go off. I drove through there last year and wished i was in a sports car so i could enjoy the twists and turns.
Wow... great invention Mercedes. How much did you pay Cadillac to make people believe that you were the first car company to put in night vision? How the mighty have fallen... In case any of you youtubers don't know, the Cadillac DTS from nearly 10 years ago has night vision. It displays it on the window above the steering wheel. I've used it, and it's badass. It's fun to see animals at night on the road.
awesome to see a Mercedes being used on a track, it's almost like the only use for them nowadays is to show wealth. that's an awesome car, i want one lol
It looks like their headlights were still sort of on when they showed the outside...or was that the infrared light?? I'm pretty sure infrared doesn't look like that. I mean I know they had em on and covered with tape but it appeared like they did cheat a little bit.
camera's can still pick up infared lights without being in night vision mode. If you have a video camera point a remote control to the camera and press a botton. you will see the tiny bulb on the remote blink when looking through the camera.
Infrared light is invisible. They only partially covered the headlights, because the night vision system works by light amplification (not infrared) so it needs a bit of light to work (if it was really pitch black as he kept saying it was, the NV camera would also be black).
also at 5:58 it looks like the lights could be just bright enough to show the road for safety but not strong enough to see ahead. Still cool tech though...I would much rather have the screen somewhere infront of the driver though than on the navigation...
Deer or children or whatever that you can't spot with your headlamps...I think this system also makes them light up so they appear brighter on the screen.
