  • my friend you are crazy. but one of those things in my mind where i thought Hmm i wonder. now youve settled that. i wont try it. btu hell i know it can be done if one is so inclined

  • I think that get used to drive and look in the screen is not easy...Maybe if they place near the windscreen in front of the driver is more practical...

  • Quite impressive!

Unfortunately its hardly a necessity for most countries of the world.

  • I see in Infrared - I'm a Terminator

  • but if someone was coming the other way, could they see this vehicle coming at them? and also the field of view is pretty small.

  • You mean if they were driving by infrared too?

  • thats so dang cool!

  • why not just turn the damn lights off

  • theyre probly automatic or light sensing

  • Probably because the night view assist camera only works when the lights are switched on :-)

  • cuz you cant.

  • That would be fun whit a proper pro touring camaro

  • Should bring AMG to this road.

  • this is TopGear's Best driving road in the world

  • it is one of the suggestions but it isnt that road they choose.

  • donde es esa carretera?

  • i wont try it at home, but i will try it there =P

  • They have roads similar to this in Mexico. The only difference is that they do not have any barriers to keep you from going off the side. You can kiss your ass good by as you go off. I drove through there last year and wished i was in a sports car so i could enjoy the twists and turns.

  • what would have happened if another car came from the opposite direction?

  • using night vision too? I'd guess there would be a funny up close shot of the other persons face when they totally nail each other

  • they had a c-class ahead of them to make sure the road was clear

  • That's awesome. Next time, go about 90 miles down the hill and drift at the hairpin turns.

  • He says dont try this at home, but no one even lives there LOL

  • this is amzing

  • It'd be funny if this was fake and people who brought the car attempted this!

  • 6:25

    Don't try this at Home

    ?????????????

  • Cadillac been had night vision

  • XD XD XD XD !!!

  • I'd never have the guts to do that with a car that expensive lol. But still very impressive

  • This is the road from Top Gear that they said its the best driving road in the world......

    XD

  • Driving Heaven

  • I so want to go on that road for the challenge

  • Wow... great invention Mercedes. How much did you pay Cadillac to make people believe that you were the first car company to put in night vision? How the mighty have fallen... In case any of you youtubers don't know, the Cadillac DTS from nearly 10 years ago has night vision. It displays it on the window above the steering wheel. I've used it, and it's badass. It's fun to see animals at night on the road.

  • They never made such a claim so I recommend you stfu.

  • I love you, I've been trying to tell people that forever

  • it looks badass, but wasnt it in the middle of the dash on previous models?

  • The Mercedes-Benz Night View Assist Plus Technology is very impressive!!

  • awesome to see a Mercedes being used on a track, it's almost like the only use for them nowadays is to show wealth. that's an awesome car, i want one lol

  • Damn!

  • Anyway way you look at it he still has daytime running lights on ........watch the video close......this is Mercedes advertising BS

  • video cameras pick up infrared, which is what your seeing

  • Aren't you listening to what he's saying?

  • at 3:54 u can see light reflecting off the markers up the road with night vision alone u wouldnt see that

  • You actually have balls...

  • it would suck if driving in midnight and something pops up in the infrared and not on the windscreen..it would scare the shit out of me lol

  • that car is fucking nice i want one

  • certainly will not try it at "home"

  • this is absolute awesome

  • look out of the windscreen. and look at the outside shot of the car driving by. you can't see a thing. not enough to drive by.

  • Very fuckin nice!!

  • top gear went on this road it was so cool

  • WOW....!!!!

  • It looks like their headlights were still sort of on when they showed the outside...or was that the infrared light?? I'm pretty sure infrared doesn't look like that. I mean I know they had em on and covered with tape but it appeared like they did cheat a little bit.

  • camera's can still pick up infared lights without being in night vision mode. If you have a video camera point a remote control to the camera and press a botton. you will see the tiny bulb on the remote blink when looking through the camera.

Cameras can pick up lights the human eye cant.

  • Infrared light is invisible. They only partially covered the headlights, because the night vision system works by light amplification (not infrared) so it needs a bit of light to work (if it was really pitch black as he kept saying it was, the NV camera would also be black).

  • also at 5:58 it looks like the lights could be just bright enough to show the road for safety but not strong enough to see ahead. Still cool tech though...I would much rather have the screen somewhere infront of the driver though than on the navigation...

  • i need to drive on this

  • pretty cool

  • holy damn that's incredible good job Mercedes Benz! it is absolutely pitch black absolutely incredible

  • That's amazing. I want to try to drive on that in the daylight just to be able to imagine how hard it would be at night with inferred. Haha.

  • so whats the point of somthing like that other than to like sneek up on somthing?

  • Deer or children or whatever that you can't spot with your headlamps...I think this system also makes them light up so they appear brighter on the screen.

  • oh wow. thats creeepy.
