Heat, you did a good thing. Sad that's it's such a bad movie but it's not your fault. I watched Robert on Jay Leno and he seemed proud of this movie as being his first. He did alright being, what, 17? And the queen/bad guy. But for the rest of them, no. It would have never been recognized for anything of consequence had it not been for Robert's fame. He was pretty young here. I remember that he said his agent was putting him up when he auditioned for Twilight. Not an epic here.A start.
@Songsmirth ehh, the plot is based on myth and legends so the plot itself is shaky enough. just like most norse movies, they have bad acting cuz not alot of big time people like disney make them. basing my opinion on most movies of this type i've seen, this is by far the one i liked most. read about the story of the nibelungs and you'll understand this more clearer. its a b rated movie if not a at the most.
@heatwave2010 Good idea. I'll get the book. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me. I've never gotten into the Norse legends. I don't like blood and guts on the whole. I do own, "The 13th Warrior" which is well done, even with the blood and guts. Can you recommend any movies? (Even knowing that?) lol When I was a girl a movie came out called, "The Vikings." humm Wonder if it's here on YT? Will check. Starred Tony Curtis, who was the hottie of the time. :) Will check your site.
@Songsmirth i don't have my other norse movies anymore since my desktop computer crashed. what movies are you interested in anyways? i watch movies often so i might have a fair few to suggest if you'd like. most viking stories are based on the gods and most of them are terribly horrible. its rare to find a decent one if acting is what you demand most. you can't really expect much from norse storylines either because they are already written in stone and most are "cheesy" and obviously bloody.
I love the scene w/ Brunhild's rage! And i love it how she says : "Hagen of Tronje, face the fate my gods have chosen for you!" It's a memorable quote for me along w/ Giselher's and Lena's line exchange at the end: "Today the old gods live again."
this show was not faithfull to the story.
