Prisoners working to lower their timeand making things to sell isn't really a good idea. The reason why is because then the honest people are out of a jobs. Need to find them work that no one else will do.
Prisoners convicted of nonviolent crimes should be able to work time off their sentances in exchange for their labor. Picking up and sorting trash seems like a just job for them. It would be unethical to use prisoners for medical experiments without their full consent.
Our hauling company does not publish recommended recycling guidelines and there are several unanswered questions - A video like this is a very good idea!
@jerzkid87 Very true, I've worked in the recycling industry in southern California for 20 years and have done business with WM for most of those years and can tell you first hand that they only "Recycle" because they have to, Not because they want to, They actually loose money recycling because they spend foolishly on everything from office supplies to conveyor systems to safety equipment, But they're spending someone elses(stockholders) money not their own.
@huminit It also costs money to harvest plastic, paper and metal from scratch. Recycling requires less of this production which is how it saves money.
@huminit Recycling saves money altogether because when companies use recycled materials there is less of a demand for the paper, plastic, and metal that is produced from scratch.
@huminit Every publicly traded company's objective is to make money for the stockholders. They don't spend or waste money because it's not their own like you said. They would loose their job if they did because they are hired to make money for the stockholders.

@4L60E I've been saying that for years! We could also use prisoners for cosmetic experiments instead of using animals :)

This comment has received too many negative votes show
