  • That's a beautiful ceremony. My tea making, day-to-day, is much less formal. I made a video on my channel about how I make Matcha. Check it out.

  • So are you saying it should be more open?

  • I am saying Tea Ceremony here became a show, she is too caught up in formality. The spirit of humility is gone.

  • Tea ceremony is supposed to enhance the concept of Zen and entertain friend with humility. That spirit is simply gone. Sensei here is caught up in formality and routine now; her attitude is rather self consciouse. This is the fell of tea ceremony. 菩提本无树,明镜亦非台。本来无一物,何处惹尘埃 -"Everything is primordially empty, what is the dust for dust to cling to?"

  • So are you saying she should be more open?

  • I would have put down the camera and been like, "Here let me do it. It will only take 10 seconds."

  • It's called tradition.

  • Strange how a teapot can represent at the same time the comforts of solitude and the pleasures of company. ~Author Unknown

  • I like that

  • the girl is pretty though and nice kimono :}

  • that was sloppy, even I can do a better job with the precision. What school of chado, and how do you sit for over an hour for the cours of it, like that,my legs fall asleep.

  • you spelt the romeji wrong. its (arigatou) :)

  • yea and you spelled romanji wrong too.

  • No need to be a smart ass mate :) i was only trying to help the other guy. seems people don't like help around here

  • ahh no worrys i was just defending "claudetaiwan" because it seemed like you were being the smart ass.=]

  • Aligato. It's helpful to me.

  • The one thing I love about doing the ceremony myself is that I dont have to put up with the tea I make :) lols

I know it's kinda mean of me to say that, but being a beginner stinks. ;(

The ceremony and liking the tea (as a drink) is two different things ;)

  • very elegant. one of the better representations of

japanese culture. Not entirely sure i would be willing to put anyone through that much effort to make tea though.

  • my luck i would burn myself and break all the bowls. But i still wanna learn.

  • wow that must be hard to remember.

  • That's why they take lessons in tea ceremony. XD

  • It is surprisingly amazing though that when you try to remember all the movements, you will get stuck. However, when you let yourself go of the thinking parts, the movements come easily.

  • nice to know the japanese culture

  • i know some people need to know there's more to it than anime
