  • This opossum is really friendly. If there's only one cookie left the opossum is like: 'No dude you can have it, no problem' and he's a really good guy. If your controller is broken he comes over to your house and says like 'You can borrow mine until you have anew controller man, it's cool'

  • Eheheee so cute oh my gosh.

  • i wish i could take care of a opossum or atlist feed them and make friends with them but my dog dosent let :l she kills them every time they come to the back yard last time i had to clean up a momma opossum and her 10 babys :l

  • Weird, possums look completely different here in the States. And more rat-like.

  • nice possum! but, maybe it's a house possum, I mean that's the name of another vid, cause it's a house possum! good luck with your new friend!

  • That ain't a possum

  • @delibardani - our possums in Australia are different to yours in the USA.

  • @delibardani its a brush tailed possum, there are different types you know.

  • be careful with your nuts he could bite you lol

  • any updates on this?

  • man those things are cute as hell

  • Hello there, my sister has one of these she found next to its dead mother and she thinks it was about 1 week old, she has had it for about 2 months now and it is friendly, I just wondered if you had any problems with your as it grew up? Thanks.

  • This guy was always amazingly tame around me (probably because he knew he'd get possum treats). He didn't always get along so well with other possums in the area though...

That's pretty cool that your sister's getting to raise a baby possum - post some videos!

  • Yeah I might try to get a video of it soon, sort of in the process of moving atm, awesome pets! so different! :)

  • it thinks ur its mother lol

  • I think you made yourself a friend. How often did he come to see you?

  • A couple of'em lived on the roof and they would climb down a drainpipe that ran right by my room every night. If I was in the room at the time (they were noisy) I'd give'em a snack

  • that's so cool. some people get the idea that giving them snacks isn't good for them, but possums actually adapt well to humans... they live longer in captivity than in the wild, it's weird. is patches the one that was missing fur from his head, or did you not see that possum again after those few visits?

  • Patches (the guy in this vid) was a regular for a while. He was definitely my favorite, but in the last month or two I was there I think he got driven away by the Evil Mommy possum. If the Evil Mommy possum (who I thought was a guy at first until she showed up with a pouched baby - see House Possum 1-3, she's Petey) was ever in the same vicinity as another possum she'd aggressively go chase'em away. She was the biggest one, so always succeeded. I once had her fighting Patches in my room :|

  • Aw that wasn't nice of momma possum :( If she and the baby move on, Patches may hopefully come back. A fight in your room?? It was probably territory and food combined. She needs to learn to share! I think it's really interesting how brushtails only have one baby while opossums have up to 13! I don't know how the babies don't fall off with all of that crowding.

  • @pbrinkma Alot of mothers do that to their babies after a while, i honestly think its cause they hurt their nipples after they grow teeth XD but i guess it could be like pushing them out of the nest.

  • @pbrinkma The possums here arent as cute as the ones you have, the grey ones with the bald tails, well they arent cute to some, i think they are adorable. A mommy possom lived on my porch for awhile, it would hiss at us when we left the house. Its babies were on its back, i dont think the ones here have pouches.

  • @LyeLye American possums look so weird, huh. They do look like big rats and when they've got babies all over them, they look even weirder. Australian possums are fluffy and cute.

  • @AtheistOnTheEdge Lol yeah they are so cute, but i think american possums are cute to, just a little tougher looking, and probably not as friendly as the ones you have at your place.

  • Possum Fact: Because wild possums eat leaf tips( wich is a low energy food)Brushtail and Mountain brush possums eat there Poo. there first Poo looks like rolled up balls of grass, the second looks like normal Poo lol. If they didnt do this they would be slow like a Koala or a Sloth. Cool hey. I do wildlife rescue in Australia so if u want any tips feel free to ask. My possums are in cages cause there recovering from injuries.

  • You will be epic if this is your pet. good luck bro.

  • im so glad that theres people like this in the world, ive seen too many videos of people getting these animals in cages and throwing rocks at them and killing them, your a great person i wish you the best of luck and hope that you have a happy life

  • what???? Are you serious?? I swear... human beings can be so sick.....

  • "that's the camera" lol

  • Aww he wants some more!

  • hehe. Did you feed it shortbread?? No wonder he liked it, it was sweet!

  • That is amazing that he is so tame. We have them at our house and feed them but I've never seen anyone touch a possum before like that.

  • OMG that is sooo cute - he has a piece of food stuck to his nose (hehe) love it

  • That was so cute. I love when he put his face in the camera. What a gutsy little guy.
