She wasn't breathing shallowly because she has bad breath support. It's the emotion of the song that has caused her to breath in such a way that relays her pain and frustration. Her breath support is actually very strong in this song.

I love both versions and I feel like Morgans is her really letting out all her pain and Phoebe's is like her trying to stay strong and insist its not a love story so that she doesnt have to admit she cared about that person

Here is what I feel: Phobe's version and Morgan's version are completely different acting wise. Morgan's really makes you feel bad for her and that she must have gone through a hard time with her very expressive acting. Pheobe's acting comes off dark because she acts with very small expressions. It makes you sit back and think how bad for her when she sings it's not a love sotry cause she says it so darkly. Both versions are and i repeat FANTASTIC!!!! They are just portrayed entirely different
