@Dimitris227 yeah i know, one of my cars is almost as slow as that. a 1998 fiat palio with a 61hp 4cyl 1 liter engine. it doesnt really have low consumption though. the engine is so weak it has to rev higher than other cars to go uphill or keep a decent speed and that makes it waste more fuel than a good 1.4 or 1.6 liter engine. but it still gets the job done alright.

it's awesome car, I am driving one for 9 years and I don't know better car from that time as overall city car... yes, nothing for long highway runs, but up to 120 kph just fine, considering you don't put there heavy things, and not more than 2-3 persons... fuel consuption, practicality, price, power (enough for decent city driving)... I love it

in the first im into; 40 / 45 km/h, 2nd around 60/75, and in the third i could make up to 120/135 km/h <== really maxx cuz my motor starts to yell at that speed

on his 5th i'm making 175/185.. but my Counter is limited to 180 and another slash (-)

hi mate nice video, i myself own this car a 1.2 , when i got it , it had normal steel wheels, i have changed them, and know i have 16" golf alloys on it, and it looks mint, from the back they just look like the golf, and as for the dicks that call the car, well they don't know what they r talking about, unlike ford , clio's and corsa's, they r not rust buckets, and my insurence it dert cheap. and for £20 of fuel i get £165 miles, so glad i got a car that's cheap to run due to fuel prices

Yes, actually there are two different 1.2 engines available for the polo, but BOTH of them are 3-cylinders.

The main difference between those engines is the number of camshafts and valves:

1.2 55 HP (old Polo): SOHC, 6V

1.2 60 HP (new Polo): DOHC, 12V

1.2 64 HP (old Polo): DOHC, 12V

1.2 70 HP (new Polo): DOHC, 12V

and NEW (for Polo 2010):

1.2 TSI: 4-cylinder SOHC, 8V, direct injection, turbocharged, 105 HP

tested a 1.6 liter diesel polo (new 2009 model) with 74 BHP...

was kinda slow (almost like the 1.2 liter petrol engine)... too bad they don't make the 101 BHP model anymore :((
