The reason is because this is alpha. In the alpha version, we didn't have hunger. So you ate to make your health go back up. Now we have a hunger bar, so you have to eat. If the hunger bar is full, your health goes back up. Remember, this video is from about 2 years ago. Alot has changed since in minecraft since then.

hi there. after watching this video i reaslised something that i learned on another minecraft video which might help with your farming. water has to be on the same level as your plowed field in order for it to be hydrated. This means you cannot hide it under neath the mud like you did in the video which is why the soil kept turning back to dirt. i just thought i would give you a little tip to make life easier for yo and other people who are watching this. please thumbs up so he can see =P
