a smart spectator will know somethings up if he can't choose a card for himself. the spectator won't feel in control, which takes away from the trick altogether. plus an australian shuffle is wayyyy suspicious lol

all it do is make the top card to be under the prediction card.

when he choses the number of cards keep in mind those 4 multiple(4.8.16.32)then just deal the deck.substract from the chosen number..the smallest closest multiple (4.8.16.32) and then double that number. that's the position and the smartest way to memorise that table.

ex:he choses 14...14-8=6 ...6*2 =12...the position is 12

you can also take the difference between the chosen number of cards and the last ^2 and multiply that by two. so if they choose 21 cards, you subtract the last ^2 (which in this case would be 16). this equals 5. you multiply it by two which leaves you with 10, there you got your number. Second example: chosen numbers of cards is 47. the last ^2 is 32. 47-32 = 15. multiply it by two, gives ya 30.
