  • I want this video on my GT550 Encore unit.

  • this is fuckin brilliant!!

  • 2 Things.

    Whats the plastic?

and Would alot of smaller holes help fix the bubble problem?

  • Could I use a polystyrene sign as the plastic sheet?

  • So this is how they did put Han Solo in carbonite. o_0

  • Wonder if this would work well enough if you put a record under it.

  • this is so cool! Do you have to use a shot vaccum? or can you use a regular vaccum? thanks! ^u^

  • i will try it out cool!!

  • Sooo are bubbles good?

Because I don't like bubbles as much as Sponge Bob.

  • @popcornmornforncorn The bubbles are unavoidable. It is caused by the plastic being sucked down into the suction holes. It's not part of the mold, so just cut that part off when you're done.

  • thats awesome

  • This video went viral on Hanoi

  • Hi'ya! Im so excited I really wanna make one of these!! I was wondering! Can you use this plastic with Resin?

  • @PhatEyeCandy Don't see why not!

  • @hhbproductions hi! one tip, you should turn on the vacuum before placing the plastic so the mold will be better

  • @PhatEyeCandy I think you can... I guess it depends on how thick the plastic is.... I don't know... I've never done this before....It doesn't hurt to try! :)

    Good luck!

  • @PhatEyeCandy plastic weld them

  • he went over board

  • The plastic is polystyrene and can be found localy or online. Hope this helps those that are looking

  • toast?

  • Can we use acrylic sheet to make this instead of polystyrene?

  • I want chocolate spiders now. Thanks. (And thanks for posting the link to the plastic supplier.) :)

  • Should've put a han solo iun there..

  • i thought the tree branch was kool

  • on the website does the x.020 mean the thickness or amount? AKA 20mm thick or does it come with 20

  • whats the point of this?

  • that was awsome

  • XD "stuff"

  • Simplemente genial !!!!!!

  • good job henry

  • How do you get a form without the pegboard holes in it?

  • @amiga2091 impossible

  • I'll be making a similar vacuum table but much larger to form plexiglass. What amount of power does your vacuum have and how hot should I heat plexi? I'm creating a life sized hero factory Witch Doctor.

  • To everybody that is asking where to get the plastic,

Look in the description, there is a link to where you can buy the plastic sheets.

  • What is this plastic, where the encounter, to make Transparent Canopy For Tucano 40 / 46?

  • Do a Han Solo, carbonite one!

  • Just curious for how long must the plastic sheet be kept cooking in the oven?

  • @DragoonProp Watch the video. Until the plastic starts to sag in the middle.

  • awesome man....the toast one was the best of all...liked the branch too!!

  • 'Stuff'

  • I'm making a device similar to make my daft punk guy helmet visor

  • I'm certain you are the first and probably only person who has ever vacuformed toast!!! lol..great vid!!

  • OMFG NOW YOU CAN MAKE AWESOME JELLO WITH THAT :OOOOOOO

  • asiausahsahsua

  • you should make a new channel called "Will it vacuum form?" and vacuum form everything

  • I don't suppose a picture frame with the middle ripped out would be a good thing to staple the plastic sheets to, would it?

If it helps, I was thinking of just doing heat forming, as in forming without a vacuum box thingie, as well as do all the heating and smoothing with a heat gun.

  • What is the thickness of your plastic sheets and what material are made of?

  • What is the thickness of your plastic sheets and what type of material are made of?

  • what kine of plastic do you use? by the way, nice video =)

  • Can you reuse frames?

  • @connorbnelson Yes! All you have to do is remove the staples.

  • How strong is your shopvac? I have a RIGID 2.6, do you think it'll be alright? Thank you :)

  • @spartan5566 Mine is 5 horsepower. Try it and see if it works!

  • @hhbproductions So I bought a 6 HP shop vac. My vacuum former looks almost exactly like yours except I used 2x4's for the box and frame. I have 0.20 Polystryrene and when I heat it up where it starts sagging in the middle a lot, I put it over the object and turn the vacuum on and the plastic isn't really making any real mold around the object. Is there anything you would recommend for me to try? Thank you!

  • @spartan5566

I would say you don't have enough sucking power with your Vac.

You should buy another Vac and run both into your box frame oppisite each other and power them on a 6 outlet powerstrip so you can power them both with one button, and you should turn them on just before you lay the plastic on what you are vacuum forming, you won't get wrikles this way.

Let me know if this helped you....

  • @startrekfan76 There is plenty of sucking power. The wrinkles are from leaving the plastic in the oven too long. If you leave the plastic in the oven too long it sags too much causing excessive plastic.

  • i said hello to your vaccumm sir.

  • @blahhhhhhhhhhh101 Thanks.

  • WTF Toast?!?!?!?!?!

  • You had WAY too much fun. xD

  • Интересная идея, дёшево и сердито. : ))))

  • This was great. Just like Mattel's Vacu-Form machine back in the 60's... only bigger!

  • How do I get the staples out of the frame holding the plastic? I can imagine it's not easy...

  • @piscataway53 Staple remover or knife.

  • We followed yours and other's tutorials but our table is hardly getting any suction at all.

  • Where you get the plastic sheets!?

  • pretty cool, if you used smaller holes but you wouldn't get such imperfection with your final product. :)

  • Which material was you using? Please reply ASAP cos ive got an exam tomorrow

  • @tla1234567 check out "sintra"

  • I wish all people made videos like yours. Straight to the point. Awesome

  • It must be a pain to remove all those staples from the frame each time.

  • @CornerSka I've seen another vacuum form video where they used clamps, like the ones on clipboards at the top, but the removed the metal ends. Worked really well and no fuss cleaning up :)

  • @ 1:03 seconds i can see the face of Jesus! in the plastic or is it willie nelson?

  • where you get the plastic??

  • ...but why?

  • this is amazing! even toast? wtf

  • At 1:52 I doubt it was an apple head.. I was thinking on the neighbor's cat head!

  • Remember when some deuschebag did this to han solo??

  • You should turn the vacuum on be for you press down the plastic. It may keep the wrinkles out. Just a thought.

  • lol random stuff! Awesome video! But where did you get the box with the holes in them? :O

  • @ricecake000 lol, he made it im sure...

  • @ricecake000 he made it, i guess, you can make one on your own

  • @eedee2speedy LMAO! Sounds exactly like that!

  • Where I can buy the plastic that you use

  • doesn't it work better if you turn the vac on before you place the plastic on the "mold"?

i'm guessing, that way you don't get those creases in the plastic

  • Hey were do you get the plastic sheets from?

  • @jmh43to70 Tap Plastics seems to have a selection of plastics that might work, but I am not sure.

  • @jmh43to70 if you do a google shopping search for "thermoplastic sheet" you should find plenty of results

  • @jmh43to70 officeworks or any office-art stores mate.Usually all you need is 0.4-...-1 or 2 mm thick any plastic sheet..

  • @jmh43to70 It's a bit on the pricey side but here's one link: interstateplastics com

Otherwise google: plastic sheets for vacuum molding

Lots of results- unfortunately you won't find them at walmart though.

  • @jmh43to70 did he respond to this comment

  • Love the Toast. Well done.

  • Hi there! thank you for this instructional video !! by the way... what kind of plastic do you use? thanks in advance.! cheers.

  • Does anyoone know if doing this in your kitchen with Acrylic or other plastics causes any fumes or strong smells? Thanks in advance!!

  • Hi Shelfstuff, "YES" there will be fumes, and an odour. The odour will be dependent on which material you are using. As for the fumes, the longer you leave the material under the heating element, the more fumes will develop. Would strongly suggest having a window or door open while vacuum forming. Cheers 2webby

ps; I know what I'm talking about as I've worked in the business for 30 years]
