Oh one more thing...Yahweh does not care what year it is. His statutes never change. Doesn't matter if you live in the east or west he is always the same. Don't change to be like the world because the world says so. Listen to the voice of Yahweh.
Living for G-d is never oppressive to anyone if it's done with a right attitude. We need people with good character in this world. Live for HaShem because it's right, not because everyone's doin it. I applaud you for living a standard above what you were taught in your home. Not easy to do I know. Let it become an adoration of G-d that you live your life and hold these values.
Florr07, you are ignorant! Read can you prove there is G-d by publish America. G-d created you and will take you right to hell when you meet him-After you die!
For the young lady, good job! Covering hair is for every Jewish woman! Bat melech!
@theshockingtruth1 Seems like you have a lot of hate in your heart and need to take it out via youtube. Not being sarcastic at all, but I have people like you in my prayers. G-d bless.
A reply to yobouysway. Dear yobouysway, I just read your message on this post you may be correct for some parts of what all those religions convey about angels,hell,heaven..etc... and none of the religion out there can prove every part of what their holy book conveys, but your missing the big picture here, the whole point of this of having a religion is "believing".
I'm from a Jewish/Israeli family and in my opinion this is an absurd ritual. No more absurd than Christian or Muslim rituals, though. These religions are based on fairytales with unsubstantiated, far out, physically and scientifically impossible claims. They are merely a consolidation tool of the ancient world for the Who What Where Why and How questions about Humanity and existence/consciousness that too many people are still subordinate to. We have science, logic, and healthy skepticism now.
@yobouysway Christians don't need any scientifically, insurance for nothing, take your human scientifically proofs and put this things, in your..... !! we need faith not humans rassicurations, science? What you think? That the humans are able to explein the mistery of God?; Jews like you are unbelievers and they are the real antichrist becouse jews are the only one peoples of the world that have denied his own God, and before Jesus self, even in the time of Moses.
@yobouysway the most ritualic believe in the worls is judaism, with all your human regel of mozvot and Talmud (a man made book), For this i say to you that the great babylon is jerusalem and the body of the antichrist is the political state of jerusalem, your fake state proclaim his existence trough the wars, need war to exist, the fake prophet (iran) in reality work with Israel. (the political state), becouse when he say want attack israel, all the world worship the beast, the 666 scored star.
@Selvans100 don't break the balls to the others, with your ignorance, jerusalem is the babylon with 7 hills wich are also 7 kings, (tHe herodians) proclaimed Kings of the Jews by the Pagans Romans,.. Jews like you are the synagoge of satan.
The video begins with the following question: does the hair is important to you? with the answer he gave very little left to discuss, if people get tattoos for reasons difentes from tributes, etc and people who burn the skin or other similar issues that are put crosses llamda do it for something free will .. . perhaps for many the worst ritual that exists but is something that all human beings should enjoy Jewish Christian Muslim atheists, etc.
Her luscious hair is reserved for all of us on YouTube - thanks for calling her a whore for showing her hair while simultaneously filming her hair with the implicit intention of exposing it to as many people as possible, you pimp. Well done. :-)
@Rnotla lol i think that jesus say fits here, Judge not the speck in your neighbor's eye when you bring a log in yours, a lot of christian rituals are also absurb, and the freedom you live now is thanks to the secular wins not christian rules, if we still on christian rule only noons will be educated, and she said is a choice she made, the free will maybe to you is the ultimate absurd ritual.
@Rnotla "Absurd rituals" That's offensive. What absurd rituals do you think Jews are keeping? Observing the Torah, what God has commanded for us is not absurd. Yeshua did not come to the world to put an end to Torah. He did not come to establish a religion, new laws or to separate us from Abba's Holy word. Yeshua read the Torah & lived it. Go back to the Jewish roots & learn something! You're only taught about the "NT", but barely touch the Tanakh. Read both & repent from christian babylon!
@Florr07 yes the ritals of the jews are absurd, even if the lie to them self, you don't kill sheeps every sabbath. or you stoned some people until today how the old law teach?... Follow jesus and stop, if you want be a real complete jew..
@yobouysway i think that you believe in fairy tales, and i know the truth..your ignorance is like the abomination that cause desolation....jews like you are a living monument to the ignorance...
@Selvans100 Since the temple in Jerusalem was destroyed (and we have no proper/appointed place to give offerings) it would be a sin to offer sacrifices. People are no longer stoned because of a SERIES of things, look them up. Selvans100, G-d's word remains true always. It's not called "Old Law" it's called the Five Books of Moses, you should check them out. I believe in Yeshua HaMashiach, the Jew man, and not "Jesus" the greek guy in christian churches. Read Matt 5:17
@Florr07 you lie to your self.. you can't folow anymore a big part of the old law or covenant becouse is impossible to do.. the new covenant of Jesus the Messiah is to follow, the new Israel and Jerusalem is composed of all the peoples that follow Jesus without distinction of races, is the spirit that have to be converted, not the flesh, you can't present Jesus as a follower of the pharisean, and of the old covenant, he was persecuted right for this thing, you are in error.
@Florr07 that's becouse i had understand the truth, becouse of the old testament, all the old testament confirm to follow jesus but you don't want.. you still think that the salvation is in the traditions..
@Selvans100 No, you're saying things I never said. If you want to understand truth read a book starting from the beginning. Start with the 1 2 3's of your roots, the bible does not begin with Matthew, it begins with Genesis, I suggest you start from there. Yeshua IS my Mashiach. The Torah cannot give me salvation, but it will give me essential life instructions. Read Romans 3:29 and every time you see "Law" it means "TORAH" B'rit Chadashah confirms Torah in every word. Blessings.
@Florr07 yes.."all the old testament" confirm Jesus the messiah.. you still don't understand what i say, Jesus is your messiah until you follow him, and don't loose time to confused him like a pharisean, you don't follow his words you still follow your traditions...
@Florr07 how the jewish ask for forgiveness? What do you offer? Well i offer my life to JES-S, and as a non jewish i have the forgiveness of the Father thru Him. How do i know? Well repentance brings fullness, the Spirit of G-D fill you and clean your soul off sin. I was addicted to porn, obsenity, alcohol, and now im delivered, the law has not rule over the only one who fullfilled it (JES-S), and on the ones who believe on the one that did. How? Well practicing sin doesn't rule over me anymore
@Jiaarhud and Selvans100: I hope you see it for yourselves whenever you open the Holy Scriptures, that the Torah of HaShem doesn't have an expiration date. Y'shua did NOT abolish Torah, he fulfilled it. Do Torah, honor the mitzvot. Step away from 3rd century pagan christendom. Learn about the Council of Nicea! Stop Sun-day worshipping, be renewed in Shabbat! Be thankful for Y'shua and follow His example. Read Moses, ask HaShem to open your eyes and He will bless you greatly!!
I am so lost I am not jewish but anyway there are lots of parts of a girls body that only her husband should or hopefuly doses. so why the hair I am kinda lost
If you compare her to muslim woman who cover their hair, they will explain to you the meaning of wear it with confidence and happiness, safe from oppression, by individual choice & will make you understand the true meaning!
She says she has a good relationship with her hair but then she says doesnt like her hair :/ contratidictin and actually seems v unhappy about it!
"Santi" and "lifesabigqmark", she may be "hanging her head" out of shyness or lack of social confidence. Also, she is being somewhat uncomfortably put "on the spot" to defend her religious choices, with a camera in her face. In a similar situation, I would also feel shy in front of a camera and not want to look at it directly.
she has no confidence and she seems unhappy about having to do that. its sad. she is convincing herself that she dosnt like her hair that much. come on does she look happy to u?
She is a good woman for deciding to cover her hair when she marries! Every Jewess and Jew should do their best to follow Jewish law and tradition.
Please take a look at my channel and please subscribe. And tell your buddies to do the same, I'd appreciate it if you could do that for me my friend. Thanks for reading!
@Selvans100 I'm not Jewish but will be one day and that totally depends on the situation and there would have to be a trial. If you get caught speeding do you automatically pay the police officer the money for your ticket or do you go to court? Keep your mouth shut you ignorant fool
@iEatBoneDust Ruined what in the west? Look at North America as a whole my friend..how corrupted it is on every level, and it has nothing to do with the Semitic people...open your eyes!
@illuminationclub Does she have anything to do with it?Is she a politician controlling America? That's ubsurd, typical jews have nothing to do with it.Quit blaming your failure one someone else.
Why does she talk, especially on the end of the sentences in different (like no more inhaling, just talking with the minimum air stored in lungs) manner?
I noticed that by some other americans as well. What does that mean?
If you think about .03 of the world is jewish .01 are rilgius and .050 are riliugus girls like you. And you make the world stand. Thanks you so much for being among them.
sorry, typos. Anyway, It probably takes time for one to be use to it. But it's a great mitzvah, and modesty in general, both with dress and behavior. Every mitzvah we do brings blessing, and connects us to G-d.
@seethroughwalls just to point out something in your words here. Common sense, requires common traditions, common thought, and common beliefs. Otherwise, it is not "common" at all. Therefore as a Jew, It is exactly "common sense" that brought this young lady to this decision.
@tzedekyahu since your playing semantics game, according to your definition someone in a well established cult which practices violence is using common sense. So I think what he means common sense of society in general as opposed to your group common sense.
@tzedekyahu "Merriam-Webster Online defines common sense as beliefs or propositions that most people consider prudent and of sound judgment, without reliance on esoteric knowledge or study or research, but based upon what they see as knowledge held by people "in common". Thus "common sense" (in this view) equates to the knowledge and experience which most people already have, or which the person using the term believes that they do or should have. " Wikipedia. I could have looked...
The most important thing is for a woman to be the helpmate of their husband. That is what it says in Genesis. Sadly in many cases today the women dress to what the male Rabbi wants and what he thinks is modest for another man's wife which why should he care if a woman dresses in a way that is really immodest although it fits some cookie-cutter measurements. Having said all that covering your hair as is wearing a yamaka is a custom. You can not cover your hair and still dress in modest decent way
I was in a kosher bakery a few weeks back. I decided to put the remainder of my apple strudel in my leather purse (wrapped in wax paper). I've been thinking that this was not a very kosher thing to do. But I'm not Jewish. I've decided that I'm just going to eat the whole piece of strudel before leaving from now on, or just take a piece home. I imagine how the Jewish patrons must have winced to see me do that. It was really absent minded, and of course, my knowledge of kosher laws is sketchy.
Do yourself a favour, Accept Jesus Christ your long awaited Messiah as your personal Lord and Saviour, acknowledge you are a sinner and unclean, and that you need and WANT to change and be good, but you cannot do it yourself, so ask Jesus to save you and you will be a new person and you will be justified and santctified. Leave Judaism, ignore the legalistic laws that have nothing to do with Spiritual matters and your soul. Come to Christ and you will be forgiven because He Loves you!!
@xhemexx I am contacting my rabbi who blesses my pork to demand that that he helps me to get baptised and also that he must also accept Jesus as his personal savior. After all it's pretty amazing that a man who's been dead 2000 years can love me. I bet this message has convinced so many Jews to give up their traditions and become Cristian.
@xhemexx he was an apostate, there is no better word to describe his relationship to both judaism, and the early xtian movement as put forth in the book of acts.
Lol freedom does not equate being nakid? i never get this point? lol the girl asked that people see the covering of the head as somehow going against freedom of some sort, covering your body means you are opressed how so? Unless someone forces you sure, but people need to be more open minded
the question should be WHY DO WOMEN STILL FOLLOW NAZI PATRIARCHAL,MISOGYNISTS religions that see them as inferior to men?? to the ones that do shame on you all!!
this girl is so sweet. i applaud her desire to cover her hair after she gets married, but it seems like she needs to delve deeper into the reasons *why* she's going to for religious reasons. following one's chosen religion is a wonderful thing, but needing to be informed about why you're doing certain actions is even more important. the great part is Judaism expects to be asked these types of questions. good luck!
@anat613 it's fine to ask the questions and search for the answers, but at sinai we said "we will do and we will obey", not "we will find out the reason first, and then obey"
@tzedekyahu@tzedekyahu How do you know we said "we will do and we will obey" and even if we did that applied to the torah back then not to all that has been added to this day!
@lonishar um...because that is what is written, word for word. There are also commands to do as the elders instruct, and these things become halacha. Going strictly on the words of the torah itself, this is a perfectly valid halachic ruling, and does not add to torah, but instructs as to how to keep it, or is instated to help keep people from breaking the mitzvah of modesty. Maybe she is delving, or will delve deeper, but is allegiance to torah somehow good only if you know everything?
@tzedekyahu Oh yes really? Where exactly is this written word for word in the torah itself? please do sent me the source. What elders, where does it say anything about elders/rabbis/ being allowed to add anything or change anything in the torah? How is making a new rule not adding? Do you understand what it means to add? Who gave them the authority to do this?
@lonishar dueteronomy 17:8-13 it says to inquire of the levites, and do w/e it is they judge, in fact to do EVERYTHING they instruct. Also exodus 18:13-26 talks about the establishment of this system. They are not 'making new laws,' which is forbidden. They are interpreting the law. G_d gives the authority to these judges to interpret the law, and declares that what they decide will be followed. Similar to jesus saying to peter that whatever is held on earth as true will be held in heaven.
@moddie84 Are you Christian trying to prove rabbinic Judaism? Anyway the torah is clearly talking about courts to resolve disputes when they can't be resolved locally. not even interpreting laws for future generations. and be honest how much of the rabbis is simple interpretation and how much is new stuff? I know your just saying what you believe , but be honest and objective if moshe was here today he would not even recognize our religion as the same as his. There has been just so much added.
@lonishar but that's exactly what it is saying. it says if you have no idea how to interpret a law you bring it to people who have been authorized to make decisions based on torah, and what ever they decide becomes the accepted interpretation of the law. it is very much like the US supreme court. The constitution and the laws of the US are sometimes very difficult to interpret and understand so we respect the authority of those appointed to interpret the constitution, and there interp becomeslaw
i dont know how familiar you are with talmud, but essentially they are a book of debates between these authorities and the subsequent rulings. it is essentially the collection of interpretations based on all the disputes throughout jewish history. whether or not you want to follow the instruction to follow their decrees is up to you, but basicaly the entire talmud is just centuries of debates.
@moddie84 and no im jewish, sorry i just assumed you were christian based on the no oral law arguments. i guess you're karaite, i used to be karaite, but i've come to accept more and more of the oral law.
@moddie84 you know a lot, besides a few things u said you sound like an orthodox jew. I'm not a karaite because its not possible to be a true karaite today, all the specifics are loss even a literal interpretation of the tora will leave many questions. Ultimately I was forced to accept that the torah is man written (multiple men) by good people who meant well, but there is no oral torah (except some basic specifics) nor justification for rabbis to add which they for sure have.
@moddie84 yes it is a collection of debates, but it or at leasts subseqent works based on it determine the "halacha" that orthodox Jews believe they must follow which they say is oral torah also given orally at mt sinai.
@moddie84 Really then quote me those exact words. It says if there a dispute or controversy and it is too hard for the locals to solve themselves, they should turn to the levi'im and judges. Nowhere does it give any blanket authorization for all the added laws now knows as the oral torah. Only that if a question arises they should decide. actually it makes it very clear that nothing should be added! Clearly so much has been added, not just simply interpreted (ie what fruit is an esrog).
@lonishar lol you answered it in your statement, you should turn to lev'im and judges and do what they instruct. Its not blanket authorization, its saying that what the educated people with authority decide becomes accepted interpretation. You're just being stubborn and hard hearted about this because you're scared the law says those who do not obey these judgements and decrees should be put to death.
@moddie84 In the event of a dispute! Not create books and books of jewish law which add to the torah, and not claim there was this oral torah also given at sinai. think about it with an open mind. Also the rabbis are not leviim they rabbis turned against the kohanim (kohanim were mostly saducees / rabbis pharisees)
@tzedekyahu As I already discussed, of course traditions including technical details were known at the time and passed down from generation to generation - but this is not the same as the oral torah claimed by the rabbis which gave them the power to add tons of laws (tora forbids this of course) and claim it was all part of the oral torah.
@lonishar they didn't add laws, they enumerated on how to observe. The law says stop at a stop sign. You instructor tells you to begin slowing 400 feet away, increase pressure slowly on the brake, come to a complete stop before the white line is hidden by hood of car, feel the bounce back. Are these all added laws? No! They are explanations on how to stop properly. Defensive driving courses, and corporations that use them, canonize instructions to be machmir, but don't add laws.
@tzedekyahu This is what you believe, but far from fact. The Instructer is giving technical instructions how to follow the procedure. If all the rabbis were doing were explaining some details such as what an esrog is or what tefilin are, I would have no problem. While explaining how to stop a car is not very disputed or maybe even there are a few ways different people teach, the enourmous amount of literature is not simply explaining these things, take an honest look it has added tons!!
@lonishar clarification is added to civil law when the simple law isn't enough, and people keep trying to get around it. If the "California stop" had become "common sense", it would be commonly accepted, but still wrong. If this happened, strictures and explanations would need to be put out there as saying "you have to do this in order to deep this law". These would be written into the legal code, and expected to be followed, but the law is still "come to a complete stop".
@tzedekyahu No because it is easy enough for the original law by an all knowing god to have said in the first place complete stop. Jewish leaders could have always reminded the nation of exactly what the torah said, but not write new books exlaning. Again I have no problem with various traditions being passed down, such as technicalities (esrog is a citron..) but this is maybe .01 percent of what we now call the oral torah.
@lonishar without the mishnah and gemorah, there would be no jewish people today. The writing down of the oral tradition, is the only thing that enabled the jews to survive 2500 years of exile and slaughter. the traditions recorded, are exactly the technicalities, and the different points of view expressed in the oral torah. living in israel,I'm sure I don't have to tell you that torah does not mean "law",and so "oral torah" does not mean "oral law".the oral tradition explains possibilities...
@tzedekyahu ...of arguments and the opinions of the sages. As the torah says, "follow the instruction of the sages", which IS the rabbis since the exile began. each sage of each area, decides how to best follow a halachah in that region, and to not present a stumbling block before the blind. This is where things such as the addition of chicken as meat come from, and once they are adopted by the community, it becomes law because to not keep with it would break other mitzvot of community.
@moddie84 Also there was no concept of "rabbis" until rabbinic Judaism came and changed so much, there were leviim and shoftim. The rabbis presented a new path in the absence of the holy temple. Why should we follow this path?
@lonishar check out omedyashar 's channel, he does a very clear cut video about oral law. and i think its fair to question because if someone instructs us to do something terrible then are we supposed to do it? The answer is no, anything that conflicts with Torah is not a correct judgment and that person obviously did not have the proper authority to make the call. Also in addition to solutions to disputes the talmud also provides guidelines for how to avoid sinning.
@lonishar rabbis were actually around before the destruction of the bayis sheni, Hillel and Shammai for example. IMO their focus was in helping people to be torah observant. The people clung to sacrifices, instead of understanding that the offerings were supposed to supplement the keeping of torah, which is what the prophets said over and over. The oral tradition, and the halachah, are meant to safeguard and free Jews to be shomer mitzvos with joy. One example of this, is presented by...
@tzedekyahu ...this video. It is the tradition that married women cover their hair. Why this is, is unimportant, and you can feel free to dislike it, but it is the tradition. Covering her hair marks her as a married woman. If a married woman went around with her hair uncovered in public, some men could become guilty of coveting another man's wife, which breaks torah. In going uncovered, she would be placing a stumbling block in front of the blind, another broken mitzvah. do you understand
@tzedekyahu this concept? I am not trying to belittle you in asking this, just want to know if I need to change my form of explaination. G-d actually talks about the oral tradition in the torah, did you know this? phrases such as "build this as I instructed you on the mountain", and "take this torah, and this commandment". there are several places in torah where this kind of thing is said.
@tzedekyahu I have never heard or seen that as the reason why orthoshmox women cover their hair. the tradition was learbned based on sota where they uncover a womans hair and force her to strip to the waist, so the rabbis work out that it was embarresing for a woman to be without hair covering. Sadly the difference between cultural traditions and gods will was lost on them.
@tzedekyahu Yes they were around before the destruction of the second, but not by much at all, The term rabbi was first used for Rabban Gamaliel the elder, who died 20 years before 70 AD, the destruction of the 2nd bayit. The sacrifices were the main part of Judaism before the destrction. Once they lost the temple the rabbis had to come up with an alternative. To imply this is rooted in something called oral torah is a lie. We have already discussed that there is no basis for anything but
cont...a very limited oral torah based on technicalities and existing traditions. if you want to believe in a version of a story that never happened, that is your perogative.
@lonishar so let me get this straight. A small group of people got together and convinced millions of people, all over the known world, in various languages, amid persecution and slaughter, that not only was this something that actually happened, but because it "actually happened" it meant that they were now bound under a myriad of laws that governed every part of their life? Furthermore, the sadducees didn't believe in the oral torah, they had control of the temple at the end, they sold...
@tzedekyahu ...the job of kohen gadol to the high bidder. They believed in only the written torah. You know what happened? they disappeared. It would seem that the people chose the rabbinic way, despite all that you see as injustice. Why would an already oppressed people choose to be controlled further, and by their own people at that, unless it were true? It doesn't make sense to me that it would happen. If there is no oral torah, how was it known how to do everything that hashem...
@tzedekyahu ...simply says, "do it according to the pattern that I showed you on the mountain", and other such passages? How do you explain tefillin, tzitzit, techelet, etc, if there was no oral torah? How much of the field is considered the peyah? How far away must seeds be sown to not constitute being in the same field? How high does the wall around a roof have to be, and how deep is a pit considered to be (instead of just a ditch)? Is a tenth of ones wages (tzedakah) before taxes? why?
@tzedekyahu How does one handle all the new things of life in the last 2000 years, that is not handled by torah? All of these things are addressed by halachah, and have been for thousands of years. The whole idea of a secular Jew is only 200 years old! Before this, you were a Jew (observant), or not. Rambam says that a Jew who abandons torah is no longer a Jew. Why is this? For the same reason that a capitalist who abandons capitalism is no longer a capitalist. Until the reformers heresy
@tzedekyahu became commonplace, to be a Jew meant that you kept the torah to the best of your abilities. "na'aseh v'nishmah" is what it said, "We will do, then we will understand", not "nishmah v'na'aseh". This included seeking the council of the wise, and heading their poskenen.
@tzedekyahu dude if you want to prove what you believe you will always find a way even in the face of numerous contradictions. If you ever want the truth, you must search for the truth not to prove what you believe.
@lonishar I'm just asking for an honest answer to the above questions. I see the progression as being logically from the oral torah, I am just asking for the opposing viewpoint. To what are you referring when you say "if you ever want truth...", because I am not making stuff up here, or trying to justify any agenda. It sure seems like you are though. Someone can prove what they believe in your case, in exactly the same way as you are accusing me.
@tzedekyahu dude you are very naive. This was not in the age of newspapers and the internet. This happened in times of high illiteracy when people had few sources to get their information from. and it happened before the Jews were spread out so much.
@lonishar first off, you are incorrect in saying that it was a time of high illiteracy, at least in the case of the Jew. It is just simply not historically accurate. Second, during the time that the Talmud was written, Jews were already in every part of the known world, quite spread out. Having no internet or newspapers simply reinforces my point.
@tzedekyahu Most Jews and others were illiterate then. I dont see how that reinforces ur point at all. Listen your not being objective. ur just trying to prove what u believe. Open your mind and start with a blank slate and see what u end up with.
@lonishar the literacy rate among Jews was much higher than non-jews, and has been that way for most of the last 3000 years. Even still, been illiterate or not has no bearing on the validity of a set of oral instructions.
In what way are you being objective? Please explain this to me.
I don't have to "prove what I believe", I just simply learn about it, and it proves itself.
@tzedekyahu If you have a proof feel free to share. seems highly unlikely. It The more intelligent and literate people are the harder to pass down falsehoods. I am looking at this honestly and have examined it from all angles. You my friend just hang on to what you believe because you feel it proves itself. But people of all religions say the same thing. כן
@tzedekyahu by the way there are many other religions that were passed on, unless u believe they were also the word of god. The Koran promises that it is 100% truth and dares anyone to proove it wrong.
@lonishar devarim 17. Its not about adding and subtracting, its about forming halacha to instruct people how to keep mitzvot. but it looks like moddie beat me to this one!
awe she is adorable and I am proud of her for making this choice. I am a Christian who covers her hair, but I think she is a very sweet young woman who would be a great wife, God bless,
hi, its not common for a christian women to cover her head(except the nun) to me, could you tell me a bit about your practice. im just curious. that's all.
@kurokamei I cover my head because the Bible commands us to, in 1 Corinthains 11 (New Testament) as a sign on authority (of God, their husbands) on them. I do it because I love the Lord and obey him. Christians do not commonly do this anyone in the West, but they DID cover for the majority of Christians history (up untill around the 1960s in the West, after the womens liberation movement). God's Word is eternal, so I obey him. God bless you, ask anything you are curious about.

@yobouysway You don't seem to know much about Judaism, do you?

@Rnotla lol i think that jesus say fits here, Judge not the speck in your neighbor's eye when you bring a log in yours, a lot of christian rituals are also absurb, and the freedom you live now is thanks to the secular wins not christian rules, if we still on christian rule only noons will be educated, and she said is a choice she made, the free will maybe to you is the ultimate absurd ritual.
arckmeez 1 month ago
@Rnotla "Absurd rituals" That's offensive. What absurd rituals do you think Jews are keeping? Observing the Torah, what God has commanded for us is not absurd. Yeshua did not come to the world to put an end to Torah. He did not come to establish a religion, new laws or to separate us from Abba's Holy word. Yeshua read the Torah & lived it. Go back to the Jewish roots & learn something! You're only taught about the "NT", but barely touch the Tanakh. Read both & repent from christian babylon!

Florr07 1 week ago
@Florr07 you lie to your self.. you can't folow anymore a big part of the old law or covenant becouse is impossible to do.. the new covenant of Jesus the Messiah is to follow, the new Israel and Jerusalem is composed of all the peoples that follow Jesus without distinction of races, is the spirit that have to be converted, not the flesh, you can't present Jesus as a follower of the pharisean, and of the old covenant, he was persecuted right for this thing, you are in error.

@Selvans100 Wow, I guess we completely disagree, Selv :) Besides the B'rit Chadashah, I'd like to encourage you to read the Tanakh. Blessings.

@Florr07 that's becouse i had understand the truth, becouse of the old testament, all the old testament confirm to follow jesus but you don't want.. you still think that the salvation is in the traditions..
Selvans100 1 week ago
@Selvans100 No, you're saying things I never said. If you want to understand truth read a book starting from the beginning. Start with the 1 2 3's of your roots, the bible does not begin with Matthew, it begins with Genesis, I suggest you start from there. Yeshua IS my Mashiach. The Torah cannot give me salvation, but it will give me essential life instructions. Read Romans 3:29 and every time you see "Law" it means "TORAH" B'rit Chadashah confirms Torah in every word. Blessings.
Florr07 1 week ago

It was really absent minded, and of course, my knowledge of kosher laws is sketchy.

anat613 1 year ago
@anat613 it's fine to ask the questions and search for the answers, but at sinai we said "we will do and we will obey", not "we will find out the reason first, and then obey"
tzedekyahu 11 months ago
@tzedekyahu @tzedekyahu How do you know we said "we will do and we will obey" and even if we did that applied to the torah back then not to all that has been added to this day!
lonishar 10 months ago
@lonishar um...because that is what is written, word for word. There are also commands to do as the elders instruct, and these things become halacha. Going strictly on the words of the torah itself, this is a perfectly valid halachic ruling, and does not add to torah, but instructs as to how to keep it, or is instated to help keep people from breaking the mitzvah of modesty. Maybe she is delving, or will delve deeper, but is allegiance to torah somehow good only if you know everything?
tzedekyahu 9 months ago
@tzedekyahu Oh yes really? Where exactly is this written word for word in the torah itself? please do sent me the source. What elders, where does it say anything about elders/rabbis/ being allowed to add anything or change anything in the torah? How is making a new rule not adding? Do you understand what it means to add? Who gave them the authority to do this?
lonishar 9 months ago
@lonishar dueteronomy 17:8-13 it says to inquire of the levites, and do w/e it is they judge, in fact to do EVERYTHING they instruct. Also exodus 18:13-26 talks about the establishment of this system. They are not 'making new laws,' which is forbidden. They are interpreting the law. G_d gives the authority to these judges to interpret the law, and declares that what they decide will be followed. Similar to jesus saying to peter that whatever is held on earth as true will be held in heaven.
moddie84 9 months ago
@moddie84 Are you Christian trying to prove rabbinic Judaism? Anyway the torah is clearly talking about courts to resolve disputes when they can't be resolved locally. not even interpreting laws for future generations. and be honest how much of the rabbis is simple interpretation and how much is new stuff? I know your just saying what you believe , but be honest and objective if moshe was here today he would not even recognize our religion as the same as his. There has been just so much added.
lonishar 9 months ago
@lonishar but that's exactly what it is saying. it says if you have no idea how to interpret a law you bring it to people who have been authorized to make decisions based on torah, and what ever they decide becomes the accepted interpretation of the law. it is very much like the US supreme court. The constitution and the laws of the US are sometimes very difficult to interpret and understand so we respect the authority of those appointed to interpret the constitution, and there interp becomeslaw
moddie84 9 months ago
i dont know how familiar you are with talmud, but essentially they are a book of debates between these authorities and the subsequent rulings. it is essentially the collection of interpretations based on all the disputes throughout jewish history. whether or not you want to follow the instruction to follow their decrees is up to you, but basicaly the entire talmud is just centuries of debates.
moddie84 9 months ago
@moddie84 and no im jewish, sorry i just assumed you were christian based on the no oral law arguments. i guess you're karaite, i used to be karaite, but i've come to accept more and more of the oral law.
moddie84 9 months ago
@moddie84 you know a lot, besides a few things u said you sound like an orthodox jew. I'm not a karaite because its not possible to be a true karaite today, all the specifics are loss even a literal interpretation of the tora will leave many questions. Ultimately I was forced to accept that the torah is man written (multiple men) by good people who meant well, but there is no oral torah (except some basic specifics) nor justification for rabbis to add which they for sure have.
lonishar 9 months ago
@moddie84 yes it is a collection of debates, but it or at leasts subseqent works based on it determine the "halacha" that orthodox Jews believe they must follow which they say is oral torah also given orally at mt sinai.
lonishar 9 months ago
@moddie84 Really then quote me those exact words. It says if there a dispute or controversy and it is too hard for the locals to solve themselves, they should turn to the levi'im and judges. Nowhere does it give any blanket authorization for all the added laws now knows as the oral torah. Only that if a question arises they should decide. actually it makes it very clear that nothing should be added! Clearly so much has been added, not just simply interpreted (ie what fruit is an esrog).
lonishar 9 months ago
@lonishar lol you answered it in your statement, you should turn to lev'im and judges and do what they instruct. Its not blanket authorization, its saying that what the educated people with authority decide becomes accepted interpretation. You're just being stubborn and hard hearted about this because you're scared the law says those who do not obey these judgements and decrees should be put to death.
moddie84 9 months ago
@moddie84 In the event of a dispute! Not create books and books of jewish law which add to the torah, and not claim there was this oral torah also given at sinai. think about it with an open mind. Also the rabbis are not leviim they rabbis turned against the kohanim (kohanim were mostly saducees / rabbis pharisees)
lonishar 9 months ago
@lonishar if the people don't know what fruit is an esrog, don't they need to find out from somebody who does?
tzedekyahu 8 months ago
@tzedekyahu As I already discussed, of course traditions including technical details were known at the time and passed down from generation to generation - but this is not the same as the oral torah claimed by the rabbis which gave them the power to add tons of laws (tora forbids this of course) and claim it was all part of the oral torah.
lonishar 8 months ago
@lonishar they didn't add laws, they enumerated on how to observe. The law says stop at a stop sign. You instructor tells you to begin slowing 400 feet away, increase pressure slowly on the brake, come to a complete stop before the white line is hidden by hood of car, feel the bounce back. Are these all added laws? No! They are explanations on how to stop properly. Defensive driving courses, and corporations that use them, canonize instructions to be machmir, but don't add laws.
tzedekyahu 8 months ago
@tzedekyahu This is what you believe, but far from fact. The Instructer is giving technical instructions how to follow the procedure. If all the rabbis were doing were explaining some details such as what an esrog is or what tefilin are, I would have no problem. While explaining how to stop a car is not very disputed or maybe even there are a few ways different people teach, the enourmous amount of literature is not simply explaining these things, take an honest look it has added tons!!
lonishar 8 months ago
@lonishar clarification is added to civil law when the simple law isn't enough, and people keep trying to get around it. If the "California stop" had become "common sense", it would be commonly accepted, but still wrong. If this happened, strictures and explanations would need to be put out there as saying "you have to do this in order to deep this law". These would be written into the legal code, and expected to be followed, but the law is still "come to a complete stop".
tzedekyahu 8 months ago
@tzedekyahu No because it is easy enough for the original law by an all knowing god to have said in the first place complete stop. Jewish leaders could have always reminded the nation of exactly what the torah said, but not write new books exlaning. Again I have no problem with various traditions being passed down, such as technicalities (esrog is a citron..) but this is maybe .01 percent of what we now call the oral torah.
lonishar 8 months ago
@lonishar without the mishnah and gemorah, there would be no jewish people today. The writing down of the oral tradition, is the only thing that enabled the jews to survive 2500 years of exile and slaughter. the traditions recorded, are exactly the technicalities, and the different points of view expressed in the oral torah. living in israel,I'm sure I don't have to tell you that torah does not mean "law",and so "oral torah" does not mean "oral law".the oral tradition explains possibilities...
tzedekyahu 8 months ago
@tzedekyahu ...of arguments and the opinions of the sages. As the torah says, "follow the instruction of the sages", which IS the rabbis since the exile began. each sage of each area, decides how to best follow a halachah in that region, and to not present a stumbling block before the blind. This is where things such as the addition of chicken as meat come from, and once they are adopted by the community, it becomes law because to not keep with it would break other mitzvot of community.
tzedekyahu 8 months ago
@moddie84 Also there was no concept of "rabbis" until rabbinic Judaism came and changed so much, there were leviim and shoftim. The rabbis presented a new path in the absence of the holy temple. Why should we follow this path?
lonishar 9 months ago
@lonishar check out omedyashar 's channel, he does a very clear cut video about oral law. and i think its fair to question because if someone instructs us to do something terrible then are we supposed to do it? The answer is no, anything that conflicts with Torah is not a correct judgment and that person obviously did not have the proper authority to make the call. Also in addition to solutions to disputes the talmud also provides guidelines for how to avoid sinning.
moddie84 9 months ago
@lonishar maybe cause we have no temple?
tzedekyahu 8 months ago
@tzedekyahu obviously the destruction of the temple helped the rabbis come to power, that does not mean it is right.
lonishar 7 months ago
@lonishar rabbis were actually around before the destruction of the bayis sheni, Hillel and Shammai for example. IMO their focus was in helping people to be torah observant. The people clung to sacrifices, instead of understanding that the offerings were supposed to supplement the keeping of torah, which is what the prophets said over and over. The oral tradition, and the halachah, are meant to safeguard and free Jews to be shomer mitzvos with joy. One example of this, is presented by...
tzedekyahu 7 months ago
@tzedekyahu ...this video. It is the tradition that married women cover their hair. Why this is, is unimportant, and you can feel free to dislike it, but it is the tradition. Covering her hair marks her as a married woman. If a married woman went around with her hair uncovered in public, some men could become guilty of coveting another man's wife, which breaks torah. In going uncovered, she would be placing a stumbling block in front of the blind, another broken mitzvah. do you understand
tzedekyahu 7 months ago
@tzedekyahu this concept? I am not trying to belittle you in asking this, just want to know if I need to change my form of explaination. G-d actually talks about the oral tradition in the torah, did you know this? phrases such as "build this as I instructed you on the mountain", and "take this torah, and this commandment". there are several places in torah where this kind of thing is said.
tzedekyahu 7 months ago
@tzedekyahu I have never heard or seen that as the reason why orthoshmox women cover their hair. the tradition was learbned based on sota where they uncover a womans hair and force her to strip to the waist, so the rabbis work out that it was embarresing for a woman to be without hair covering. Sadly the difference between cultural traditions and gods will was lost on them.
lonishar 7 months ago
@lonishar "the tradition was learbned based" where in the world did you hear this?
"Sadly the difference between cultural traditions and gods will was lost on them." I don't understand what you mean by this.

@lonishar Hillel and Shammai were both BCE. Yishka is called a rabbi in the xtian scriptures, though they were all written after the destruction.
"Once they lost the temple the rabbis had to come up with an alternative." I am curious as to your sources on this statement.

cont...a very limited oral torah based on technicalities and existing traditions. if you want to believe in a version of a story that never happened, that is your perogative.
lonishar 7 months ago

Is a tenth of ones wages (tzedakah) before taxes? why?
tzedekyahu 7 months ago

If you ever want the truth, you must search for the truth not to prove what you believe.
lonishar 7 months ago
@lonishar I'm just asking for an honest answer to the above questions. I see the progression as being logically from the oral torah, I am just asking for the opposing viewpoint. To what are you referring when you say "if you ever want truth...", because I am not making stuff up here, or trying to justify any agenda. It sure seems like you are though. Someone can prove what they believe in your case, in exactly the same way as you are accusing me.
tzedekyahu 7 months ago
@tzedekyahu dude you are very naive. This was not in the age of newspapers and the internet. This happened in times of high illiteracy when people had few sources to get their information from. and it happened before the Jews were spread out so much.
lonishar 7 months ago
@lonishar first off, you are incorrect in saying that it was a time of high illiteracy, at least in the case of the Jew. It is just simply not historically accurate. Second, during the time that the Talmud was written, Jews were already in every part of the known world, quite spread out. Having no internet or newspapers simply reinforces my point.
tzedekyahu 7 months ago
@tzedekyahu Most Jews and others were illiterate then. I dont see how that reinforces ur point at all. Listen your not being objective. ur just trying to prove what u believe. Open your mind and start with a blank slate and see what u end up with.
lonishar 7 months ago
@lonishar the literacy rate among Jews was much higher than non-jews, and has been that way for most of the last 3000 years. Even still, been illiterate or not has no bearing on the validity of a set of oral instructions.
In what way are you being objective? Please explain this to me.
I don't have to "prove what I believe", I just simply learn about it, and it proves itself.
Do you live in israel?
tzedekyahu 7 months ago
@tzedekyahu If you have a proof feel free to share. seems highly unlikely. It The more intelligent and literate people are the harder to pass down falsehoods. I am looking at this honestly and have examined it from all angles. You my friend just hang on to what you believe because you feel it proves itself. But people of all religions say the same thing. כן
lonishar 7 months ago
@tzedekyahu by the way there are many other religions that were passed on, unless u believe they were also the word of god. The Koran promises that it is 100% truth and dares anyone to proove it wrong.
lonishar 7 months ago
@lonishar what is your point?
this is a false argument.
tzedekyahu 7 months ago
@lonishar devarim 17. Its not about adding and subtracting, its about forming halacha to instruct people how to keep mitzvot. but it looks like moddie beat me to this one!

awe she is adorable and I am proud of her for making this choice. I am a Christian who covers her hair, but I think she is a very sweet young woman who would be a great wife, God bless,

@stefanierose88
hi, its not common for a christian women to cover her head(except the nun) to me, could you tell me a bit about your practice. im just curious. that's all.
kurokamei 1 year ago
@kurokamei I cover my head because the Bible commands us to, in 1 Corinthains 11 (New Testament) as a sign on authority (of God, their husbands) on them. I do it because I love the Lord and obey him. Christians do not commonly do this anyone in the West, but they DID cover for the majority of Christians history (up untill around the 1960s in the West, after the womens liberation movement). God's Word is eternal, so I obey him. God bless you, ask anything you are curious about.
