Notice, though, that this does not at all address the fundamental question
"What is the purpose of [the kind of] existence [which is suitable to give rise to this question about its purpose]"
for which after all there can in principle be no answer.
Instead she is giving her answer to the question "What is the purpose of _this_ particular life relative to the existence mentioned above, the purpose of which remains unquestioned".
I'm not a member of of the Center of Light and I have my reservations about elevating Mary to the level of Jesus' significance (though I respect and understand the need to honor the "sacred feminine). Having said that, this is yet another contribution from you, Mother Clare, that - to me - has a universal truth. And I feel that makes it particularly powerful and relevant as extremists in religion create so much divisiveness that we forget how different faiths deeply contribute to one another!
Hi , Can you elaborate on why you left religion years ago? And do you believe in reincarnation? Are you Catholic? And if so I have always felt that Catholics and Muslims really just cause too much pain and war . If an individual goes out and hurts a boy or girl they should go to jail but if a priest does it , all is forgotten, hands washed. The crimes the Vatican allows is evil. It just doesn't feel godly to me but I am inspired to see a female priest, never in Europe.
I left the institutions that came out of Christianity years ago. I am not a Catholic, and I do believe in reincarnation. I agree with you that so many of the religious institutions have caused a lot of harm and suffering, and people who do so should be held accountable, whether they are priests or not.
So our purpose in life, is too contribute. Jesus spoke of a gospel, the good news.. What is that good news? Very simple but often neglected; Jesus wasn't saying he was God, but that we all are. That was the good news, and it was hushed up since conception. I refer to John 10:34.35 where is quoting the Psalms 82.6 What is your response to that?
In the material world, everything is polar, so we have good and less good, or bad. But in God there is only Light. In us, too, we don't have to do things that are harmful to us or others, in order to appreciate being kind. We don't have to steal and cheat, to appreciate honesty and integrity. It is a dangerous thought to hold that one has to do evil to know good. We don't. We can choose to stay in the Light.
I dont think anyone has to choose evil. In fact i dont think the devil or evil exists. Its not the events that are evil, its how we interpret those events that determine what they are. Who determines whats 'right' or 'wrong'? I believe that no one does anything wrong based on their model of the world. Natural disasters or evil events are just happenings. Its how we respond to them that matters. I see life as just an illusion. Our perception of life 'good and evil'changes. We are simply creating.
My last life I was someone who was very authoritative and take charge. I regarded weak people as more of a hindrance to me and did not value their life as much.
My current life I am born painfully shy. It is very hard but I don't view it as punishment. The only reason we do bad things is because we do not know any better. Now that I can appreciate seeing life through the eyes of someone weak and shy, I know better than to make the same mistakes again.
If your conscience is alive in you, and you listen to it, it will tell you what is right. Unfortunately, too many people have pulled the plug on their conscience, and overridden it with their thinkiing that justifies taking and doing anything they please. And actually, we do not need to experience what is dark to know what is light. Your soul can recognize whta is of light, and your conscience confirm it. Otherwise you justify seeking out darkness and indulging in it for the sake of experience.
I do understand, we have to listen to our highest truth and differentiate between what our mind is thinking compared to what our soul is telling us. Our soul only knows love, joy and truth. Every decision in life is based on love or fear and everything we see is based on thoughts, words and action. But getting back to light and dark, it is impossible for light to exist without dark. Dark has to exist for light to be present. Dont u agree?
My understanding is the purpose of life is to EXPERIENCE what we already conceptually know. I cannot experience love if i dont experience fear. Everything our soul desires: the opposite has to be experienced. Light cannot exist without darkness, you have to experience short to experience tall etc. I believe we are here to create and evolve. Some people say u have to do whats right, but who decides whats right?
Your bitterness is poisoning you. I also left religion many years ago, and never went back to it. But I realized that religion, as many people practice it, and God, are not necessarily the same thing. So I decided to not blame and hate God for what people did. Your anger is not hurting those who hurt you with religion, but is hurting you, and eating you up inside. What people do using God's name does not mean God was in agreement with their actions. Should God be blamed for people's wrongs?
I think you should stop trying to find underlying messages in what I say. I am not blaming "God" because I do not believe "God" exists. I am not angry at all and I am most certainly not blaming "God" for anything. "God" is not real and you are simply a living caricature of mankind's dependence on bullshit. I have decided that I don't want to limit my life relying on some higher power to solve things for me. Life is what it is and in my opinion, you are wasting yours.
I used to believe in God but I made the decision for myself that I didn't want to live my life constantly in fear of what some nonexistent being would think of my actions. When you die, the brain stops functioning. Since you can't go to heaven or hell physically or mentally, the only way it is possible for an afterlife to exist is if a person has some sort of soul. There is no soul; there is no God. I came to this conclusion and you have no right to say I am a blind disbeliever.
I did not mean that as an insult. I knew you must be coming from a place of having been really hurt by people who taught a vengeful and mean God. I am sorry that happened to you. If you actually had a real experience of God, you would discover that God is only Love and Light, and in God there is no darkness at all. I understand why you decided to flee from a belief in a God of wrath. I am so sad that you are missing out on the God of Love.
I think you are out of your place in assuming that I blindly disbelieve that which I can't sense. I used to believe in "God" but found "Him" to be no more real than the tooth fairy. I am sorry for you because now that they are finding evidence supporting nearly habitable conditions on other planets, it is more likely that aliens exist than God. The christian religion is based around made up stories with a nice little moral at the end and hallucinations, which couldn't be explained at the time.
I disagree completely. The purpose of life is to reproduce and pass on your genes. We're no different from any other animal. Our only difference is the ability to think deeply and hence the burden of questioning why we are here and how the world works. The truth is, we can't explain most phenomena and this is the reason that religion came to be. It's a coincidence that with religion came superstition and fear of being sent to hell but in reality, religious people are limiting they're lives.
Limiting of life actually comes about when people acknowledge only the material visible world as existing. There is so much more, and it is my hope that someday you will open to experience it for yourself - not from reading other people's accounts, but from having the courage and integrity to find out if that which you state does not exist, truly does or does not.
You actually sound like you already are religious. You blindly disbelieve in anything beyond what you can perceive with your physical senses, so you are a blind disbelievier, which is the same as blind believers, who, I am guessing, are who you consider religious. I don't have much respect for blind belief or for blind disbelief. I respect those who actually delve in to finding out what is real and true from personal experience.
Break on through to the other side....

are you a catholic? if you are a catholic, then please tell me what the vatican think of reincarnation.... thanks for the help.

@dcupid7 I am not a Catholic. Roman Catholicism may have once supported reincarnation in the early years, but has not since then.
