  • Had a 1970 Cutlass S 350 Rocket in 1993 back in high school. Miss it everyday. So many memories. Bought it for 1,800 cause they guys son wanted somethingnewer to drive to collage. Had new 70s gold paint job and all original interier. Wish i could find it and buy it back like Papa John did with his camaro.

  • My father had 2 Oldsmobile Cutlass S sedans. He had a 1972 and a 1977. I miss those cars. Both of them had the unique Oldsmobile exhaust notes because they were real Oldsmobile "Rocket" engines, not a 1 engine fits all GM models like today.

  • I miss my olds 72. I should have kept it :(

  • 1971-72 Oldsmobile Cutlass: GM was producing perfection and they didn't even know it !

  • its funny when you think about how much more safe old cars like the cutlass is then the cars of today. if you got in an accident with a honda civic in a cutlass, bye bye civic and all you would do is go home and buff out the couple scratches in cutlass. they sure dont make them like they used too.

  • Earth colors....6 compartment taillights....cheap registration & insurance...and it's value increases. You pass everything but a gas station.Oldsmobile!!! Because I said so!!!..Go to ebay, craigslist,a tow yard or Hemmings motor news and get yours today!!!

  • "Computerized spring selection system"......Mmmmmmm sexy

  • A fresh clean cut look huh. Well then why did GM fuck it up in 73. LOL

  • @TheLizardKing1967 One reason was big brother, make roll standards tougher. The Hardtops did not have the center post. So they went to the two door with the post and you had the large rear window, do not know if it rolled down. So you had the post to help prevent the roof from carving in in a roll over. In the Cutlass Supreme you had the Opera window. Of course also that was the first year for the 5 mph bumpers. 76-77 Cutlass outsold any American car, even the Impala.

  • @1969pontiac1 Yeah and I remember the catalytic converter when it arrived in 1975. They still put those god awlful things on cars.

  • 1970, 1971, 1972 .....Little change. If the styling proved so successful, why did Olds screw it all up in 1973. mmmmmmmm

  • @TheLizardKing1967

everyone screwed up in 73. ha

  • ' this car do not have 2 amber yellow lights on the taillights for turning sign,,,

why the gas in hole on the license place flip down and up,,,

this car body is strong metal and more protection than new 1990 to now

  • Put some hydraulics on it and you got yourself the ultimate cholo ride

  • touch and blow? hot

  • yeah, definitely

  • i would like to find American home videos of the 80s or 70s showing old chrome custom cars exhibitions.

    Chrome chrome chrome....

  • touch and blow

  • @1955jmp that's what she said

  • I just got one this weekend! I am going to work on it all summer. Thanks for the video... awesome...

  • A "touch and blow horn"? What marketing genius came up with moiker?

  • Does anyone know what price they started at back when they came out? Message me please if you know. I am restoring one I love the car and think even now it is gorgeous. I have pics on my myspace if anyone wants to see message me on here.

  • 72 Cutlass ranged from $2900 to $3400.

  • My mom's first new car she had was a 1972 Cutlass S. It lised for 4,116.00. It had A/C Power steering and brakes. It had what Olds called the Spring Value Package, Vinyl top, full wheel discs, body spipe, matched the top, hood louvers, white walls, remote outside mirror. It was a great car,350... would burn rubber like crazy. I sure whish we had keep it. It had the steering wheel, touched any part of the center and the horn sounded. They don't make like those anymore. Sad to see what has happen.

  • @Carolshelby1 My mom's Cutlass S listed for $4,116.00. Not sure what my parents paid for it... They did not discount them much, they were hot selling cars. My mom looked at all the GM cars in that range, Skylark, Luxury Le Mans, Chevelle, The Monte Carlo, she did not like the long hood, it was more too I think. But kept coming back to the Cutlass.

  • That was a great Car, That 350 Gold Engine could sure smoke up thoes back tires up, and it was the first car i had with a/c and power brakes

  • I love 1970,71, and 72 Cutlass S,and 442 Comercials.

  • "Computerized Spring Selection System". Interesting. The new steering wheel for 72 was starting to look a lot like the one that came on my 77 Olds -- my very first car. Thanks again for these vids VC67!
