First of all, when I did the calculation I didn't count some of my videos because they aren't LPs and no-one would ever subscribe to me for those, because they're student films. My SPV would be 616 subs/ 47 videos, which is 13.1 :)
but more importantly, you might have noticed that right after bringing up SPV I pointed out that I don't care about subscribers because even with ridiculous maths added to them they are never a good indication of quality. You should stop caring, too.

You should probably compare his LPs to mine, since Name Missing is an intentionally unflatteringly-filmed parody of the idiocy inherent in video blogs. If a blurry video of a tv screen compares favourably to something that was badly-filmed on purpose, it's not really something worth shouting about.
Why are you comparing an LP to a short film? They're absolutely nothing alike. Also if your comments got any more passive aggressive I'd assume you were fucking schizophrenic. Try toning it down a bit.
Hbomb your cinematography could use a little work--I honestly liked the handheld one-on-one blog style thing you were doing in the first couple of episodes the best. The other episodes obviously didn't have that same feeling, I think I was kind of disappointed by that.
@thevoiceofdogSA I agree with you, on my kind of budget (no budget) and after exhausting the 'video blog' gimmick the highest cinematography I could go for was essentially student film-quality. When I move on to more legitimate stuff I'll go for better cinematography / hire someone exclusively for camerawork.
All you really need is a tripod and some solid planning. Make a shot list detailing all of the angles/shots you want to make in each scene. Usually you pair up each shot with a quick sketch or diagram of the frame as you imagine it in your head, with the corresponding action or dialogue. It's tedious but all the pre-planning makes shooting it so much easier, especially if you have someone else shooting and you want to convey your idea for the scene.

I have no videos and two subscribers. My SPV is incalculable, literally beyond measure. The entertainment value of my 0 videos is thus infinite, despite said videos not existing.
On the plus side, according to 666theheartless666 this puts me in the position to criticize him to my heart's content, because his SPV is so pitiful compared to mine.

First of all, when I did the calculation I didn't count some of my videos because they aren't LPs and no-one would ever subscribe to me for those, because they're student films. My SPV would be 616 subs/ 47 videos, which is 13.1 :)
but more importantly, you might have noticed that right after bringing up SPV I pointed out that I don't care about subscribers because even with ridiculous maths added to them they are never a good indication of quality. You should stop caring, too.

Hbomb your cinematography could use a little work--I honestly liked the handheld one-on-one blog style thing you were doing in the first couple of episodes the best. The other episodes obviously didn't have that same feeling, I think I was kind of disappointed by that.

All you really need is a tripod and some solid planning. Make a shot list detailing all of the angles/shots you want to make in each scene. Usually you pair up each shot with a quick sketch or diagram of the frame as you imagine it in your head, with the corresponding action or dialogue. It's tedious but all the pre-planning makes shooting it so much easier, especially if you have someone else shooting and you want to convey your idea for the scene.

@hbomberguy i ment to say that if you dont like his videos then you dont have to watch them. there is realy no reason to complain about them. i just watched your video cause i was looking for his chanel. hes got his own comidy style not every one finds it funny but somepeople like his videos. even though you do make some good poinhts in the video like the stuff about the subscribers.

Also, your "advice" seems to have quite a negative tone to it. I'm sure you are able to bring your opinion and your advice in a much nicer way so Steve might be more inclined to listen to this advice of yours.

@deadmoron1 Well actually, I was trying my best to give an actual impression of his voice and was very bad at it - and it takes very little effort to record ten minutes of video. You probably spent just as long typing out all these fascinating paragraphs about how I'm the child, yet subscribers are an accurate measure of quality 'because you say so.' For someone who bandies the word 'elitist' about, you really don't seem to know what it means.

Just to illustrate how meaningless SPV is as an indicator of quality:
I have no videos and two subscribers. My SPV is incalculable, literally beyond measure. The entertainment value of my 0 videos is thus infinite, despite said videos not existing.
On the plus side, according to 666theheartless666 this puts me in the position to criticize him to my heart's content, because his SPV is so pitiful compared to mine.

@EponymousKid Yeah. I only used it to show how utterly meaningless the whole thing is anyway, but even then it's a better indicator of quality than TheHeartless' method, which goes 'if you have less of this arbitrary number that was never meant to intend quality, then I am better than you forever.'
Also since you can't divide by zero, your SPV would be zero, making the SPV technically accurate though still incalculable.
