Dear @Chescaleigh, you're so cute and funny that it took me three minutes to realize that I was watching a makeup tutorial, riveted to the edge of my seat. I'm not even interested in makeup! Happy Valentine's Day!
I love that you use companies like Revlon and Maybelline, and not expensive brands... When I tell my friends that my makeup is from the drugstore, they thing I'm nuts... but hey... It works!!!
@Chescaleigh, I really enjoy your videos and I'm just wondering how long does it take to make a video. Also, I love watching Chescalocs even though I don't have locs!
@PeachiePebbles thanks! it just depends on the content. my hair videos are pretty quick, maybe an hour or 2. my comedy videos can take anywhere from 5-15 hours to produce depending on how heavy the editing is. i also work by myself which makes it take longer. if i had people helping me film and set up i'm sure that would cut down significantly on the time
@manga4774 no, not really but it's a pretty well known saying. i did a little digging (aka google) and it turns out "who wudda thunk it?" was one of the signature lines of this comic's dummy act. the dummy was supposed to be stupid and he'd respond with "who wudda thunk it?"
What I was trying to get at with my little rant down there is that I love you Chesca and you did such a wonderful job. I love the video, well, all your videos actually. Thank you for keeping it real :)
I loved how you represented yourself on the show! I am white and I think that a lot of people see themselves as superior to other races and don't think about what they are saying. I have quite a few african american friends and we have talked about this subject quite a bit. Like you said, ask with actual concern and curiosity, all my friends are usually pretty exited to share with me what there culture is like. I couldn't imagine going up to one of them and saying "Girl! Is that a weave?"
I just saw the show. THANK YOU for sitting in the hot seat with SUCH grace! You handled yourself so well and with such class. I don't know you (except through your videos) but I felt proud. Keep it up! You looked fantastic too. Beautiful.
Just watched the show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG OMG you are such a strong person, you were wonderful in front of the camera, very well spoken, no nervousness, you didnt let anything deter you from what you meant! I love it. Great great job and of course you looked fantastic!
Just watched the Anderson Cooper video....Congratulations...you did and awesome...great dialogue all around...You represented for us "dread heads"....love the makeup as well.
I'm so happy about how you presented your point of view on Anderson Cooper, I was feeling so much tension with that one guest who brought out the question on the video being racist towards white women in particular. I agree with what you said, and being a minority myself I really value having someone intelligent as yourself being able to speak out :) I do have a question about dreads though, how long does it take for hair to get to the dread state, like from short hair to one inch dreads?
<3 I just watched your anderson cooper segment. Man that girl in the audience who spoke about ppl using the word "ghetto" hit the nail on the head. She finally put words to what I have been trying to explain to my friends my entire college career. Thanks. I wish I could meet you in real life. You seem so AWESOME!
I watched the interview and i loved it :D The only thing that bothered me was that some people were throwing around the racist word. "Shit White Girls say to Black Girls" was the first "Shit blank blank Say" video I watched on youtube and i related to it soooooo much. I'm puerto rican and ive had those same things happen or said to me.I've had ppl take my hair down from a bun just because they thought it looked better. They are ignorant but the way you delivered them in the video was funny.
I always wondered how the h*** can some girls apply eyeliner on their top lid without holding it...and not shake...??? Any tips...I've been trying for months....but your stroke sure is precise!
Hi friend!! Next time, when applying glitter eyeshadow, try applying glitter eyeliner all over lid id the complimenting color of your shadow to help the glitter adhere & last longer! Your appearances were divine! So proud of you...
