  • This book is one of my animorph guilty pleasures. It's stupid, pointless, the helmacron's are annoying. But I can't help enjoying it. The part with Ax and Cassie's dad had me rolling the first time I read it.

  • Can we have #25 The Extreme please

  • thEEr,... thEEr tIErd XD

  • You know, I was a lot more confused in one of the most obvious problems than you were. WHY DID THEY LET THE YEERKS GO? Visser 3 was at mercy to Ax's tail blade, and the rest of his big party were SHRUNK.

  • @sunnybubbleday Because they are idiots? Or, as I'm sure Cassie would say, because that is morally wrong and it's more important to behave honorably than to deal the biggest blow they've ever dealt to the Yeerks and possibly get the invasion over with much sooner with Alloran's knowledge and the shrink-ray if they could keep it. They do let their scruples get the best of them at the worst possible times sometimes.

  • @MisterH3 it's summer here XD

  • I love your theory on how the Helmacrons came into being. XD

  • You gave this book far better than it deserved, but it is your show. I really hated this book, but you make a good case for it. Hopefully you'll get to #25 while it's still winter. That always felt like a Christmas book on account of its "North Pole"-centric plot. Anyways, I look forward to it. Keep up the good work.

  • ANTEATER GODZILLA!

  • I recall not really liking this book, while absolutely loving the second Helmacrons book. I'll need to reread soon.

  • As far as I can recall, they never use the anteaters again after this, so you're free to keep believing it.

  • 4:48 Is that Kate Mulgrew? Wow, this really is a loving ripoff of S F Debris.

As for the fungible statement, growing up I just assumed that it related to fungi, that while independent their minds all shared common threads, like mycorrhizae. Looking back it was a silly way of thinking & I should learn that, no matter how similar two words may be spelled, I should always look up the definition.

  • Thank you so much for making this, a great xmas gift.

  • Unfortunately, the instant they morphed the city shattering anteaters their bodies would crush under their own weight.

  • @IamtheShrike Damn, someone else beat me to that explanation. It is the inverse of the math at work that makes the characters proportionately stronger at small size, pound for pound they would be weaker at a gargantuan size.

Though it would have been interesting to see it put to the test in a zero-G environment.

  • Huh...I was a huge animorphs fan growing up. I own the entire series. I even kept reading them well past the age where I should have been because I loved the series so much. But you know what? I don't remember the helmacrons at all. I still remember all these little details that the books threw out there but an entire speices that was the basis of 2 books is completely gone. Even after watching the review I don't remember them in the slightest. How sad is that?

  • Wait, death by swords, knowledge transferred when they die. Oh my god, Helmacrons(spelling is bad) are Highlanders. Quick, get Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery before its too late!

  • At this point you might as well also start a "Chapman is always there" running gag.

  • I've seen an online graphic novel of #20, but that's it. Merry Christmas, Greg!

  • A lovely Christmas treat. Thank you :)
