Hey man, hows the response with VDJ? I've been djing for a couple years with VDJ and a controller but I'm bidding on some turntables on ebay right now. I was just curious how precise timecode is on VDJ. And what track are you using to scratch?

@DuhTrickss thanks for viewing man and not being another one of the haters. The song as I had it saved was called 'Smack That (Old school remix)'. It was just the instrumental and Im not exactly sure where I got it from. I hope this helps you find it somewhere else (it may take some time with just google searches). Thats how I started my DJing career I guess tho, just searching for random music all over the internet and just using any funky beat I could find.

virtual dj is for faggots who cant mix or beatmatch on real turntables wheres the skill on this all you have to do is hit the sync button real djs use vinyls
@XXhackerzXX1000 its just for fun man. I know my strong points arent scratching. Ive become good at beat matching and just mixing in general (to me that was more important). This video is just for fun because I wanted to give all aspects of DJing a try. I love the sound of scratching and listening to guys like DJ QBert scratch. This was just for fun man, dont over think it, just enjoy a laugh with me (even if its at me) Its all in good fun and for the love of music
Your a great Dj, but please stop that dancing. its what gives the impression that us dj' s are tools. were not, but that dancing really proves that we are.
@Homersimpsonsfanful, truth is man. Im just a big dork. Im a music nerd who loves all kinds of music (stray from country tho) and I love to just mess around. I worked really hard to learn to mix music in key and beat match and then I just kinda jumped into scratching. The dancing, is just me messing around (it was mostly out of excitement because I had just got those Turntables) I really dont care what people think. Im me and I just have fun with it. Tools care what people think and act fake
@asianman124, you need an external sound card, I have Serato. They have midi mixers with sound cards built in to them (best bet to do this). You also need a DJ program on a laptop or home computer. I used Virtual DJ here but Serato has a program also. There are youtube videos on how to set it up and make it work smoothly too for more help. If you have any more questions man, lemme know and ill try my best to help. I know starting off isnt easy and ill do what I can to get you going.
@GameCorporations hes trying, i dont see anything in ur channel that could even hope to match this video... fuck off you god damn troll, we all gotta start somewhere, well, some of us.
@GameCorporations well atleast i dont show off my ''skillz'' online, pretending im someone and something im not, being an asshole online. your channel reveals ur a gamer, and ur not that popular, but i aint one to judge, so just keep on living your ''life'' as you call it as a ''proffesional deejay'' who knows everything... u have alot to learn man. be supportive instead of a fucking showoff cunt.
@ArminRamovic Lmao lets see you do better than, troll ;3 I've actually played around with dj equipment and it isnt easy and the fact DjVenadetta uses the cross fader to take out the back scratch shows that he does know a few things about dj-ing.
@tavo22222 I translated this with google and this is what came out "This chido that,, people are never happier than her mother skunk all these assholes gringos ... jajaj". Thanks for watching I guess?
@DJVendetta23 lol... he said "this is cool,,, people are never happy (i guess he means satisfaction; are never satisfied) fuck this americans" there i translated :P
@CLlax28 I bought this whole set used for about 500 and I bought the serato external sound card for about 500 and then I had to buy speakers and all the cable hookups which came to about 400 total making the setup around 1500 USD. If youd like to scratch with Virtual DJ without dropping big money on turntables, Id suggest buying a midi mixer like the Hercules RMX. The RMX has a sound card in it and will allow you to cue up songs thru headphones. Im pretty sure you can scratch with the wheels too
@anthonyv6612, wheres your videos toolbox??? oooh you dont have any... you just go on youtube and watch other people do things, then you dish the occasional hate acting like your opinion actually matters when you have nothing to show you are any better. Im glad there are assclowns like you, makes me glad that I dont live an uptight life criticizing people for just having fun. Cheers mate, enjoy the video and thanks for the view
@Jpwnage216 im glad you saw this video for what it was worth my man, just messing around having a good time. if the music wasnt playing you woulda been able to hear me laughing. thanks for watching, cheeers
@Ps2gooru, there are only a few places to get lessons on DJing and scratching. I learned to beatmatch and to mix in key from people I met from VirtualDJ radio. I practiced mixing music live on their station. As far as scratching goes, I would suggest trying to find something used. My Turntables are pretty crappy Geminis but I got them fairly cheap used. They arent great TTs but they were a great place to start. You can buy starter sets for scratching too. I would suggest to start cheap
@Ps2gooru, very good question (another reason I posted this video, for questions) This was the first set up I ever bought and I got it used from a guy I DJed with over the internet. I paid him thru paypal and it cost me about 650 USD. I still have the set now (with new Vestax Mixer) and I still use the SL1 sound card with timecodes. I wouldnt suggest a crappy setup like this unless you have timecodes. They skip too much for real vinyl. The sound card cost me about 400 but is prolly down in price
Man, I have no clue why there's so many haters out there. To get good, you gotta start bad. Keep the practice up, and the technique sharpens and speeds up.
bro like this isnt so bad but....you used the same sound sample and same transform scratch the whole time. if you want to practice throw in a crab or a chirp or flare??? use different sounds not the same aaaaahhh sound...
Fuck people are still saying practice your scratching when they don't bother to look at the date this video has been posted! And by the way, since you have the tables and timecodes AND the mixer, why don;t you get sl?
@enclosed26, I have the SL2 sound card and I do scratch with the Serato program much more than I do VDJ, I just figured VDJ was better until I gave them both a test run and after that test Im a huge fan of Serato and how much smoother it runs. Thanks for watching too. Keep the beats alive
nice mix bro! im also a beginner. Fuck haters.! they talk to much shit! like my dad is an oldschool dj and they say how cum u cant scratch like ur dad and shit and i say fuck u aslong as i rock the fucken party does all that matters!!! peace bro
@SHAiB0i You don't need to buy special turntables. Just an audio interface and software. Look up Serato Scratch Live, Traktor Scratch Duo or Traktor Scratch Pro, or Torq.
@pspheaven maybe Id take you serious if you werent just good at fucking with a PSP and getting on my shit when you dont even know me. This is an old ass video, ive practiced and am better now. This shit was when I first got my tables and was just fucking around and I thought it was funny and figured other people would get a laugh out of it to. Go back to playing with your PSP.
@DJVendetta23 Sorry man, I was just in a bad mood when I made the comment. I'll look at your other videos. And no I personally have no experience scratching.
Nice video can i ask you a question whats the point of having virtual dj and real turn tables together i mean what do you use it for u have real turn tables already.
@jjackfizz because now I dont have to buy vinyls, I only have to buy two timecodes which are like 20 bucks together and then I can load any song I have to them and mix with them like I own that vinyl. Its like owning every vinyl ever made as long as I have the song on my laptop. It can also help with my shitty turntables skipping, It wont skip on the laptop soo the sound is pretty much spot on.
I had the same Decks when i started out lol. They have a really really small pitch controller & the motor is really weak. I couldnt scratch on them at all lol So big respect to you sir ;o
haha, that is very true. When I get back I will hafta scrum up some money and get some Techs. Im not sure what Im ganna do with these classics tho... Prolly just pass them on to another young DJ in the making and watch him work through it like I did.
@DJVendetta23 Yeah, people always say "oh it doesnt matter the equipment", but not only will you not get as much respect, but it is a lot harder to do stuff on shitty equipment.
I agree to the fullest, I had one guy try to argue on another one of my videos that shitty equipment means nothing, Goood Djs can play on anything and that is true to an extent. But learning to DJ on crappy stuff isnt easy and better turntables make it easier. Its like saying Tony Hawk can bust any trick on a shitty toy skateboard soo everyone should be able to just master shitty toy skateboards.
@DJVendetta23 Yup yup. Good to see there's a cool guy on here that's no an absolute douchebag. I raged really hard when I first saw you with a V mask and I expected you to just start scratching some over 9000 sample, but you're cool.
@DeeJayCeee, I do scratch with Live. I actually scratch with live more than i do VDJ but VDJ is nice to have when i do gigs that i dont use turntables (just my laptop). Overall its a quality sound card and works well with VDJ and it works perfect with scratch Live. Its a win win for me. It has never let me down and is still goin strong.
@djprototipo, yea i use Virtual DJ on my laptop and mix music on their online radio station. I am pretty familiar with it now and should be able to help you if you have any problems with it
im new dj. jus one question wen usin virtual dj. wen u are uploading ur mp3s do u jus use a blank vinyl wen u scratch? as in as long as u are using mp3s what do u use as the vinyl?
im actually happy that for the first time this video is helping people, instead of people just hating on me and telling me I suck. (I am glad to help people with their questions) The vinyls you use are called 'timecoded' vinyls, they are special vinyls that send a signal to your sound card and move on the screen as you move them. They arent expensive 10 - 20 dollars for two of them and they last a pretty good amount of time. Come back if you have any more questions
if you want to scratch with Virtual DJ you can use any scratch card. To scratch with Serato you must have a serato scratch card and Serato Timecodes. If you have any other questions lemme know
the DJ IO sound card only helps for another line to Preview music, youll need a sound card like Serato or the Numark one. They also sell Midi Controllers that you can hook Turntables into and then use the controller as a mixer like the Herc RMX is a good example of that. I hope this helps and again if you have any more questions i am always more than happy to help
keep at it man...practice makes perfect!!

Nice video can i ask you a question whats the point of having virtual dj and real turn tables together i mean what do you use it for u have real turn tables already.
jjackfizz 1 year ago
@jjackfizz because now I dont have to buy vinyls, I only have to buy two timecodes which are like 20 bucks together and then I can load any song I have to them and mix with them like I own that vinyl. Its like owning every vinyl ever made as long as I have the song on my laptop. It can also help with my shitty turntables skipping, It wont skip on the laptop soo the sound is pretty much spot on.
DJVendetta23 1 year ago
@jjackfizz you dont have to carry loads of vinyls, all music is in computer

I had the same Decks when i started out lol. They have a really really small pitch controller & the motor is really weak. I couldnt scratch on them at all lol So big respect to you sir ;o
djfranticc 1 year ago
hehehe dig the dance mate, got to get your groove on while on the decks.
Only constructive criticism i could offer from watching vid is calm your fader hand down, if setup right all thats needed is a finger jab ;)

thanks man I appreciate it, Im away on an internship and had to leave the turntables behind soo I'll hafta wait before I can have another Jam session

@DJVendetta23 ... you say that like getting rid of those gemini's is bad. :P
1nnovate 2 years ago
haha, that is very true. When I get back I will hafta scrum up some money and get some Techs. Im not sure what Im ganna do with these classics tho... Prolly just pass them on to another young DJ in the making and watch him work through it like I did.
DJVendetta23 2 years ago
@DJVendetta23 Yeah, people always say "oh it doesnt matter the equipment", but not only will you not get as much respect, but it is a lot harder to do stuff on shitty equipment.
1nnovate 2 years ago

@DJVendetta23 yo i totally agree with you

why do you have virtual dj if you have a serato soundcard??? why pay 300 dollars for something to control virtualdj? why not just use scratch live?
DeeJayCeee 2 years ago
@DeeJayCeee, I do scratch with Live. I actually scratch with live more than i do VDJ but VDJ is nice to have when i do gigs that i dont use turntables (just my laptop). Overall its a quality sound card and works well with VDJ and it works perfect with scratch Live. Its a win win for me. It has never let me down and is still goin strong.

do u use virtual dj?
djprototipo 2 years ago
@djprototipo, yea i use Virtual DJ on my laptop and mix music on their online radio station. I am pretty familiar with it now and should be able to help you if you have any problems with it

Das macht mich ein bisschen traurig...

Das wäre die beste Promotion gewesen, wenn virtual Dj die software für Dj-Hero geliefert hätte..

im new dj. jus one question wen usin virtual dj. wen u are uploading ur mp3s do u jus use a blank vinyl wen u scratch? as in as long as u are using mp3s what do u use as the vinyl?
poonthrow 2 years ago
im actually happy that for the first time this video is helping people, instead of people just hating on me and telling me I suck.

Nice theme with the mask, very catchy and will help promote urself... good shit

do i have to have a serato scratch live sound card or can i use a different sound card?
kangjiho 2 years ago
if you want to scratch with Virtual DJ you can use any scratch card. To scratch with Serato you must have a serato scratch card and Serato Timecodes. If you have any other questions lemme know
DJVendetta23 2 years ago
thanks for the reply, what if i were to get a numark i/o sound card. Which timecodes do i buy? Do i get serato timecodes..? Do they work too?
kangjiho 2 years ago
the DJ IO sound card only helps for another line to Preview music, youll need a sound card like Serato or the Numark one. They also sell Midi Controllers that you can hook Turntables into and then use the controller as a mixer like the Herc RMX is a good example of that. I hope this helps and again if you have any more questions i am always more than happy to help
