Guys, the restoration of your project is very ambitious and really great. I sincerely hope to see it. I live in Italy and, unfortunately, I have never seen the version estesache lasts 3 hours of entertainment. I hope it is published on the internet, so I can fulfill my desire to see it.
@womblediehard your defiantly wright about that. why try to get same lookalike of Christopher Reeves when they can't its either crap or no hero in them in those new superman. I suggest they find someone completely different to Christopher Reeves & try from there or dont even bother making another Superman cause Superman returns was shit, the title was stupid in-fact when did superman leave earth to call it superman returns i dont remember this in part 4 chris leaving... sooooo stupid.
i want to own this on dvd i hope they put into one someday all those scenes that arnt in the other movies i own are neat and should be added in with all the other secenes =) put a pole to ge this on dvd , i will sign it in a heart beat
@lovesonewoman00023 The resolution of the Blu-ray is far superior to even the most recent DVD version. it's not perfect, but it's a really nice transfer.
if you don't have Blu Ray, you should really think about it because it makes you look at film in a whole new light.
@sgtpepper1138 Actually every time I see a newer film on Blu-ray, I think it looks like total shit.. too much resolution ruins the film, makes it look like bad television programming or something. No grain, no atmosphere, destroys the depth. Sometimes things that are too perfect really degrade the illusion. Fuck Blu-Ray
@loafpork I'm thinking you're watching them in places like Best Buy, or Wal Mart. When they are on those screens, the store has all of the advanced motion on with digital noise reduction, that's bad. Blu Ray, on a properly setup screen shows MORE of the film grain, and restores the atmosphere that the DVD loses (high compression). Blu Ray is 6 times the resolution of DVD, so it brings out the film grain unlike DVD.
@sgtpepper1138 I've seen them when they're calibrated as well, and they still look bad to me... The older movies I've seen aren't so bad, but the newer films seem to be way too crisp. I don't like it, it's just a matter of personal taste. Blu Ray is overrated and I actually like looking at my old dvds on my high def better, it's a big screen and looks great as long as you're not sitting a foot in front of it.
The collectors edition of Superman has all the deleted scenes. I bought the collectors tin for Christmas some years ago and had all the movies, 40s cartoons, the bio of Superman, his history on film and Bryan Singer on his filming of Superman Returns. While Superman Returns was ok, it recaptured some of the elements between Lois and Clark, but the story needed too move at a quicker pace. Even my son who watched the first movie with me on dvd, thought S.R. was slow. Reeve will always be the best.
Really? I may be speaking as a completely biased SUPERMAN nut here,.. but I still believe, to this day, that the first time you see him take off in STM has never been bettered,... no shot in SUPERMAN RETURNS even comes close, in my opinion. Still,... everybody's entitled to their opinion.
Did you like it in the cinema though? Always wnated to see STM on the bihg screen!!!!
I wish i was involved in the production of this classic but this film was slightly before my time :(

Christopher Reeve will always be the number one for this role, some can try and copy his films and acting but it's never the same.
Hope they never make another Superman film as the one Bryan Singer made was poor and lacksture, plus we have seen it all before.
