  • dizziedallas! I like this vid! Just graduated from a.t.i. and live here in Grand Prairie. Look forward to more videos with the Testo!

  • @13hussmeister Thank you so much for watching! And good luck in the a/c industry!

  • Isn't the temp probe supposed to be 12 " from compressor ?

  • Isn't the temp probe supposed to be 12 " from compressor ?

  • @allfaze Most people will agree that 12" from the compressor is a great spot but I will move my clamp up and down the line to get a overall view. When you see the clamp right at the compressor inlet I am reading the superheat going right into the compressor and I am interested to see how much superheat I pick up from the compressor.

  • I am sorry you feel this way! What you don't see is two weeks of negotiation with the homeowner association. The unit has 55 feet of refrigerant piping which is in compliance with the manufacture. What some viewer fail to realize the homeowners have there input where the unit goes too!! what am I supposed do pick a fight and tell them its going to be my way!!!

  • Y did you put the that way 2 much pipe

  • Where is the liquid line dryer?

  • @bumblecrunchy I put the liquid line dryer at the indoor coil most of the time.

  • Thanks for the reply, I am just getting started. I am on a shoestring and so far I have

my fluke meters, including IR Thermometer, Vacuum Pump and the Testo, I want to get the best I can afford instead of getting mediocre stuff, I am continually training and I hope to pass the NATE - I live in Southern Calif and the competition is high but I feel confident because I know Spanish and I can market myself to that community which is big here. Thanks again for your video and info.

  • @ramin You have some good tool there! I have the two fluke meters and let me tell you they are good meters they last a long time. I and I have the IR thermometer too.Good luck on that NATE test!!

  • I'd like to know if You can obtain calculated superheat with the SRH2 or do you need the dual temp ST4- doesn't the SRH2 be capable to give you the readings you need. I am asking because I like your set up but now that I put alot of money into the Testo, I want to make sure I don't over invest.

  • @raminla You can obtain calculated superheat with the SRH2 .Really all you need is the SRH2 but alot of times I have multiple units going ,so thats why I have the ST4.Some of the A/C I put in require a 5 page form (refrigerant charge verification) filled out ,it's crazy how many instruments you need now!

  • I just bought my Testo 550- I noticed you are using the ST4 to get the dual temp. Did you require any other tool for charging the system or perform anything else?

  • @raminla I also use a SRH2 diagnostic psychrometer it calculates target superheat and target evaporator exit temperature.

  • That install couldn't have looked any better if I did it myself. Someone is bound to comment and say that the unit is too close to the house. The outdoor coil breathes on all four sides. It's fine. The HOA can't shoot it down so you're golden.

  • @PutSome5tankOnIt Thanks for the comments!! I here you on all four sides it will be OK!! you know the fights with the HOA ....... they are alot of fun!!

  • I would have definitely rotated it so the service panel faced the house... would have looked much better, and been quieterer (is that a word) too. I wish I could just upload pictures.I've got one I want you to explain. That sucker is tight. What's in the cage?

  • @FilterChanger Hey filterchanger That is a tight fit but it,s all HOA ,you are looking at 2 weeks worth of meetings LOL the water main is in the cage for the complex.

  • @dizziedallas well, just yank that dumb old water main out of there and turn that unit so it's service panel is against the house... you can leave 4 inches or so... just as long as you can get a 1/4 inch box end wrench on the screws. I've gotta post that picture now.

  • @FilterChanger Find those plctures I can,t wait !!!!! post , post, post

  • Pulled out the BIG GUNS !!! Looking good Dallas !!! How do your Temp Probes mount with the testo (clamp ?), were you getting Ambient with other Meter ? Another GREAT INSTALL brother !!! Gotta love the RHEEM !!!

  • @fritzhvac Hey Fritz The temp probes mount on the two sides of the testo (plugin)and the other end mounts like a carpenter clamp. The other meter is getting the ambient temp which was 70 most of the time (video shows 72)my lowside was about 113 which means my highside should be 246 that is real closes. Thanks for the comments my new best friend!!!! Dallas

  • @dizziedallas Hey whats up Dallas , ( shh) People will talk !!!

I didn't know if they were the style Clamp like I have on my Fieldpiece ! But the only thing , they take all the fun out of MATH CLASS ! I'm green with envy , you have all the cool tools!

What was that you covered with so NICELY at Line Set termination (even painted , next LEVEL) ? What kinda cover did you use where High Voltage penetrated outside wall , before you brought back to your NEW Disconnect ? Looks good B.F.F ! ROFL

  • @fritzhvac What fleldpiece do you have SSX34? The line set was in a sheet metal box with a cover I can not take the credit only for the hole ha ha! The electrical box on the wall is call a bell extension box.

  • @dizziedallas I got the Fieldpiece HS35 stick meter ,it came with a detachable amp probe and a nice little case , I bought my Temp Clamp separate ! I wish I could of afforded the HS36 , it has a LED , but thats about the only difference , mine will have to do for now. Its a fine install , I see 24" off that wall , give are take 12" (just kiddin) !!! LOL Sometimes you GOTTA DO what you GOTTA DO !

Bell extension box, is that like a 2x4 gang box? Do you cover box and attach a sealtite fitting ?

  • @fritzhvac Hey FRITZ I lost you in the comments maybe it is time for glasses!! The bell extension box is actually screwed to the 2 by 4 single gang box( installed on rough in) and the bell extension box has two 1/2 threaded holes for fitting .The cover is a outdoor weather tight cover.

  • @dizziedallas Hey Dallas , I hate to admit it to , but I need specticles , I have to strain to wire a T-Stat now (been using the Fred Sanford type from the Rite Aide) LOL!!! All I seen was rough in 2x4 gang box , do you think you can get me a shot of a bell box , with the fittings when you get a chance (no big hurry), its all about looking and being Professional !!!

    Thank You Kind Sir !!!

  • @fritzhvac No problem there are so many eletrical fitting out there it will drive you crazy!!!

  • Nice install. Seems like your constantly having to set condensers in tight spots. I usually have acres to work with compared to what I've seen in your videos. I made some insulated boots that stay on my testo clamps. I will get to use it again next week when I set a new R410A 2 ton. Most of my service calls are for R22 systems. I am considering buying another testo for R22. How do you like your other digi gauges compared to your testo?

  • @tstatech Hey tstatech, you will have to do a video of the insulated boots.I use the fleldpiece SSX34 and it is real good analyzer on most jobs but the testo 550 take it to the next level!! What I like about the testo it was built from the gound up not a retro fit gauge!Thank for the good comments!!!
