talking micro bevels, the only time really to put a micro bevel on your straight razor would be on your final stone maybe the 8000 or 10.000 stone so you are basically polishing the very edged of the edge. the black felt pen is something that pretty standard with knife sharprening.
One layer of electrical tape will increase the angle of the bevel by less than one degree on a narrow razor. It's amazing that such a tiny difference in angle is enough to create a substantially effective double bevel
