Maybe one has to be a "child of the fifties" to really appreciate the validity of this song. I remember sights, songs, and even smells from those first "forever" loves. There is love in this song, comedy too, also sadness, and most of all, a desire to reclaim that which was lost. Thanks for posting. I love this song.
Thank you so much for posting this! As a teenager growing up, I loved the Statler Brothers songs, and they taught me a lot about sentimentality. This song struck a chord with me thirty-four years ago. I played it many times on my Sunday afternoon radio show on the AM radio station in our sleepy little town. Thanks for the memory.
