I have an older one...the bridge is shaped different cus its an older model. I like how the old style bridges look. Its in fair condition and sounds good. I put better tunning machines on it (gold ones) and a martin style pickgaurd on it cus when I bought it, it didnt have a pickgaurd I bought the guitar 6 yrs ago for about $250 but its nothing like my Martin D-28 but nevertheless I never parted with it. I like the sound difference it has to the Martin.
My first guitar ever and it was worthy. for the price $225.00 it was a steal! Good neck, very good tone and decent action. Great for a begginer or an intermediate player.
I would definately recommend thr RD8 for anyone wanting a good inexpensive guitar. The sound is pretty good. Not "boxy" sounding like so many other low-price acoustics. I have even used this guitar in the studio several times.
The case that comes with it is really good too! It is really a good deal for under $300.00 US new.
I have a dy54, 5086, 5056, dy90 and a dy54. I played the 8's at Dave's Guitars in La Crosse, Wisconson and was surprised at how good the lower end Alverez's were. A good guitar for the price.
Picked up an Alvarez along the way. Thought it was just "corner shop piss," until this dude figured it out for me. Thanks! No cut-away, so o-q-stick it is.
Lol this guy sucks

I have the RD8 and it is okay... but I use a capo a lot and it dents the neck up. Its not the capo its the guitar.
