  • Does Penn actually post comments here in YouTube?

  • @PolysaturatedFat No, it's generally us 'helpers' who comment in here.

  • ah that makes me a sad panda.

  • Try to speak more fluidly man, your "um" and "ahhh" stutters take up like half the video.

  • I'm flattered just because you took time to respond ( big fan)............& the Huntsman.......definetly, the Huntsman.

  • Random, but......Why is there a Swiss Army knife display in the background? Does Penn also work as a Swiss Army dealer in his spare time? LoL

  • lance - would you be interested in the Equestrian model or do you prefer the Huntsman knife?

  • Hilarious ending. I appreciated that. ...Quite amusing.

Too bad comments to you get censored. There are so few of us nonconformists who think on a high level. It make me feel very isolated, because the few who can understand what I have to say are incommunicado.

  • I am drowning in your ego.

  • solvent basis? how does not thinking solve anything. seems pretty fascist to say that stupid people aren't allowed to think or talk among themselves. It is important that people watch the debate and keep informed and think about whats happening in the world, so they can build a complete picture about it. I think that representation should be fair however, and often it seems unfair to society to reinforce practices that are not additive in societies advancement because even if its false, othe

  • er people will relate, and increase awareness that they related so that they make talk about it more and possibly get corrected. Its not to say there are more informed opinions out there, lots of the time it seems he plays to the crowd that pays the most money to me, its not your opinions even, that's why I have trouble faulting you for what you say sometimes, even if its false, however I don't think you should represent what isn't true, although it depends what you do with the money & time

  • LOL I've watched like 4-5 of your videos in quick succession, and you always make the best endings for your videos.

  • rant after 5:40 is great

  • lol. i feel ya man. just go before you strangle somebody.

  • I really enjoy these because they call people out on their anonymous comments. I mean, Its still a pseudonym but at least he calls them out for their nonsensical posts.

Anonymous, ignorant nonsensical comments taking up page after page after page. Very entertaining.

  • lmao at the end... my fuckin hero there

  • fuck a duck screw a kangaroo finger bang an orangataug

  • The debates haven't even been real debates since the 1980s I think it was. Anyhoo, nowadays they're entirely regulated and scripted with everything being agreed on beforehand.

But I don't even get a say, not being a yank as I am.

  • I must be an angsty person then.. since Penn and Teller's shows appeal to me. Oh darn.

  • I dont agree that the American Government should be small, it should just be reformed.

what kind of democracy has a two horse presidential race both accepting donations from corporations? its awful. the fact that if both the democratic party and the republican party both agree on something it goes completely unopposed is a sham. Here in Ireland we have dozens of political parties and each government is a coalition.

  • penn for president!

  • i wasn't listening that entire time,i was too busy looking at that giant swiss army knife...

  • i was wondring what that was

  • I know that saying this has a tendency to make me seem dumb to the people I'm bitching about, but honestly, you can always tell when someone can't justify their argument if they have to slip into overly-verbose speech and use tons of metaphores.

If you can't get it across in plain english then you are proably just a self-important jackass who would never consider the other side of any argument anyway, and constructed yours over which words sounded fanciest.

    vote Zod '08

  • You are judged more by what you leave out.

  • Mmm, I reckon that comment reveals more by what it leaves in..

  • That's true. I suppose that a good way to educate yourself (not you but uneducated people, don't know if you are one though) would be to take part of arguementations and make sure to know your stuff. Read on both sides of an arguement and then come to a conclusion on which side to take, after this you'll be able to do whatever you want with the knowledge, but you'll never feel stupid.

  • Sweeeeeeeeeet I see it now.

  • Great video once again.

  • Like the F*k you at the end, I presume the kids were in the house thus the reason for the silent scream.

Don't agree with the not to vote unless you have a strong feeling either way. I would agree if you meant not to if you don't care either way. Both candidates have positives, as well as negatives.

  • Twas not a Fuck You, but what it would look like if you were a deaf school child and Penn were to yell "Fire!" at you and then run away! Trying to prove that that analogy is indeed completely different than what he's doing... and it is. These videos that he is posting are loosely based on his beliefs, but in the end, he's being paid to make them. :)

  • Ah, fire. Should have caught that one. Thanks

  • Right... But some candidates are more or less selfish. It's that simple, and when it comes to something as important as an election it would be preferable if the most unselfish person was elected.

  • And how would we know that, by what they say? I think not.

  • No, but it's one way to go. It's a fucking election, if they don't live up to the peoples espectations they won't have the chance to be elected again. They give a lot of promises, if they don't live up to these promises I have a hard time seeing how they'll be elected again. If you don't like that idea I suppose you'll just have to go ask their families or someone that is completely neutral towards them but still know them... Good luck.

  • i know mccain will win because its just like how bush was, everybody wanted the other guy but bush somehow won

  • ...Where were you hiding during the election? Obama won...

  • He made the video before Obama was elected. Don't try to call him a retard based on your blindness.

  • I never called him a retard, don't say things that aren't true. Besides, it says he responded two weeks ago, it has been two weeks since the election... So... Either of us could be right, mostly because of the youtube system. Don't call me blind before checking your own facts.

  • Listen you fucking child. Penn says right in the beginning, "by now you probably know Obama is president, but right now it's still up in the air as I do this."

You did imply that he was retarded from the world by saying, "Where were you hiding."

I had to respond because people who respond to comments like you really tick me off. I mean, your first sentence is so redundant, it just pisses me off I itch all over.

  • No, I never implied that he was a retard with that statement. I should know this better than you, I was simply insinuating that he didn't pay attention to the election.

And what tells you that this guys comment was made exactly the same day Penn posted this video? It doesn't have precise dates so stop implying otherwise.

  • HE SAYS IT, YOU FUCKING TWAT!

And again, stop speaking like a child from deviantArt or something. Nobody cares what you THINK you said. Also, look up the definition of retard.

  • Look, consider this. He could have missed the election and therefor I commented the way I did. It was a mistake from my side to assume that he made the comment after the election, but it was also a mistake from your side to assume he didn't. He never says that he posted his comment on exactly the same date Penn posted the video...

So I looked up the definition of retard, I say this much. Definition of Retard: "cause to move more slowly or operate at a slower rate" or "idiot".

  • This is why I called you a twat; because you're a fuck-up. :]

Also, nobody other than you made assumptions. He fucking says it in the beginning. Learn to listen newfag. (Also, that isn't the definition, keep looking -_-)

  • ...Ok. Now you've got me confused, nothing in this sentence "i know mccain will win because its just like how bush was, everybody wanted the other guy but bush somehow won " says whether he missed the election or not...

I'm not sure whether we're talking about the same thing...

  • OMG! I've gone deaf!! Thank goodness I can read lips. So uhhhh... What kind of vacuum were you screaming about just before you ran off?

  • Go check out my new video Sex, Religion, & Politics. Thanks for the mention at 1:14 Penn, (& Robbie).

  • Free Minds and Free Markets!

The bailouts are corporate welfare, and just like FDR's actions after the 1929 crash, they will make the recession deeper and longer.

Obama and McCain are both socialists, just of different stripes.

I voted for Barr, in spite of his flaws, because I agree with him about 75% of the time.

I'm a HS math teacher with two masters' degrees, and it doesn't help when I tell people to educate themselves either!

Government schools are a big part of the problem.

  • I dunno, I'm feeling awash with angst after watching this. Perhaps it's fits of apathy. Maybe I just feel unclean (and loving it.) Hmmph.

    Maybe it's just PMS.

P.S. Go educate yourselves ya buncha ignoramuses.

  • I will add "in all do respect" to my charm school. It took years to learn "that's nice". Which means "fuck you" too.

    The English language is complex.

    Education:

Universities are a great but certainly not the end of all of education. My opinion; The quest for knowledge is dulled by the Universities.

    Small Government:

Would like to see Homeland security disappear

and coast guard returned to the department of the interior or the department of defense.

  • Education doesn't mean Universities. I'm highly skeptical of Universities BECAUSE of Penn's show bullshit. All the information you need is on the internet... just a search away...

  • Get educated? Education may help you but it can make you arrogant. It suggests the writer is himself educated and knows the difference. You need to talk and be open minded. When I say "open minded," I mean the willingness to change your mind if you later disagree. I would guess Penn believes that or what would be the point of this? I listen to Penn because of his willingness to present a view when most people aren't willing to say anything at all to maintain an air of peace. Keep talking Penn.

  • In no way do I think I know everything... I've been proven wrong enough times to not make that mistake. But there should at least be some respect for history since it does tend to repeat itself... it seems silly to make up some ideas about how you'd like the U.S. to run without knowing the consequences of your proposal... I know I don't have the background to be able to design a new system of government to replace the one we have now - I'd need to do more research before giving an opinion.

  • I especially enjoyed the end of this video. You made me monster-chuckle, Penn!

  • why haven't you created a magic trick to make a few lbs disappear?

  • I read that as "libs" as in "liberals."

To which I say "If only!"

  • Penn, you are my favorite person to disagree with!

  • Great Vid, I'll have to remember the "With all due respect" next time I have to deal with someone unpleasant. At least I don't feel like the only one who could give a toss over the Election. January will come with a new swearing in and my life probably won't change a lot...if any.

  • penn bring back the bees!

  • Penn appears to have a really cool house.

  • I'll only say this a few hundred more times . . . this dilemma — between voting your conscience and have no effect, and choosing the lesser of two evils — this dilemma is artificial. It is a product of the plurality voting system, where a candidate wins if they have the largest vote total, even if most voters prefer another candidate.

By simply changing the ballot to a preferential ballot, we can forever destroy the two party system.

Search for "Instant-runoff voting" and check it out.

  • Thanks for reading my comment Penn, ^_^

I did'nt mean to say that ideas are irrelevent. Only to say that candidates represent ideas. Based on the ideas they represent, people can choose. Whether that be Ralph Nader, Charles Baldwin, etc.

Debates showcase the ideas of Obama & McCain. It's a shame they don't include the others. But I think people should relate the closest thing to their ideas to either O or M. Whats wrong with hearing what they say & relating ideas? Hope I'm cool in ur book.

  • is everyone here aware that obomba is a socialist?

  • "is everyone here aware that obomba is a socialist?"

I don't know who Obomba is - wasn't he one of the Jackson Five? There was Michael, Jermaine, Tito, Obomba and I think Luigi, right?

  • McCain is a socialist too. If it's not Obama pushing socialized healthcare it's McCain(and Obama) pushing for socialized military/charity/protection services/ect.

  • That Swiss army knife is cool behind you.

  • Re: the first guy you mentioned, who said that anyone with ballot access in all 50 states should be allowed in the televised debates: wouldn't that mean only McCain and Obama? Bob Barr and Ralph Nader are only on the ballots in 40-some states; McKinney is only on the ballots in 20-some states; and Baldwin is only on the ballots in about 15 states, last I heard.

I think that the cut-off should be anyone who's on the ballots in enough states to win 270 electoral votes.

  • he's getting creative with it now....

and by the way i'm am an angst filled tennager. and penn didn't think about the stuff he sais first. Those are the libertarians ideals he is just the pop face saing things in a easier way but the core fundamentals are pretty much Libertarian

  • You are throwing fire on a long haired duck as it grows a horn! See, I can out do the nut jobs on this site. :) have a good one

  • lol- appealing to angst filled teenagers? LOL- about an election? doesn't the author of that letter realize 15 year old can't vote? LOL...

  • Right. Ok. Using that logic, no one should learn about things that they can't personally do. I can't vote in Britain, therefore I shouldn't care about who their prime minister is. The British can't vote in the American election, therefore they don't have the right to have an opinion about our presidential candidates.

I hope for my sake and my future kids that you don't think of yourself as an educated voter.

  • What happened to his forehead? Lobotomy? Accident with the "majic swords"? Hanging out with Chuck Lidell? Teller finally had enough and "told" Penn off?

Seriously. What's with the big scar on the forehead? Yo Penn. What do you think about the Anthrax attacks being an INSIDE JOB? Who's laughing now you moron. Even the FBI say it wasn't muslims islamofascists. Haven't heard you blabbing your patriotic claptrap for some time. Not so popular anymore huh?

Finished school in a plea bargain. It shows.

  • Alright, I got it. The screaming fire in to a school of deaf kids? You got the first part, which is, he's saying you're being an alarmist.

But the second part is (I think) like, it doesn't do any good anyway, cause they aren't listening to you. Then you run away instead of helping them confront the fire/problem.

Even though it still doesn't make sense, I think this is what he was trying to say.

  • You're right, it DOESN'T make sense. The part I don't understand is that through these mediums; sony or youtube or whatever, these people are going out of their way to what him, so I don't understand how those he is yelling at are considered deaf. Maybe what the author is saying isn't that we don't listen to HIM, we don't listn to others, like we're sheep? I don't get it...

  • Dude, if you understand the analogy enough to where you can disagree with it, you aren't in the schoolhouse.

  • That Swiss Army Knife display thing going on in the background is cool. I love that thing.

  • 8:33 is amazing but in order to understand watch the video.

  • Oh well still awesome

  • Dang-no mention

  • Educate yourselves.

With all due respect, of course.

  • they can go to harvard (cock)

  • Thanks Penn/Robbie for the mention. It is pronounced "Why-kul" but you were very close. I have new stuff and would love feed back. Love your stuff Penn.

  • (0) Thank you for looking over the comments. I am not entirely certain what that last commentor was getting on about but while I disagree with some things you say I think you do a good job of being honest and putting out what you really see as being the case. If we could get ANYONE in politics to do that we would be headed in the right direction. Hell I would even be willing to vote for someone who flat out said he would screw us over for his own benefit so long as he was honest about it. (0)

  • Why would you do that? That's like saying if Hitler was honest about his plans to gas the Jews, you'd vote for him! That's a pretty low standard!

All I'm saying is that if you're going to have an opinion, make it an educated one. Otherwise you are just making noises with your mouth that don't mean anything!

  • Because it is better to have an Evil you KNOW than an Evil you do not KNOW. Right now we elect people that make Hitler look tame and we do not know what we are putting in power at all. At least in this way we would know what to expect (and perhaps prepare for).

  • How do you prepare for the Holocaust? Build shelters for Jews in your house?

  • (0) Are you joking? WE will need the shelters not the Jews. It depends on the nature of the Holocaust, move to another country, arm yourself with knowledge and weapons as best you can, fight or die. Those are your major options but I would rather have them than be taken by surpise. (0)

  • Arm yourself with knowledge first and foremost...

  • He, he, he, he. Dude... That's a rather bold statement. Hitler was far more dangerous than any president alive today.

  • No dude, the ones who agree with you are more likely to make a kiss-ass response video. I know you're new to Y-tube, but get a clue.

    PS- luv u Robbie!

  • I think your audio cut out at the very end. ;)

    lawl.

  • This vid was one of your best so far Penn. :)

  • What's with the Swiss army knife in the background?

  • I don't know..but i like it..and i want one.

  • I think Penn should just not read our responses to his diatribes, and just spout whatever the hell he wants to say and ignore our input. Hearing him talk about how he filters our input through some faceless weirdo doesn't exactly endear him to his teeming masses of fans. It's like when Palin claimed she was just like hockey moms and then spent more money on clothes then she would have her son's medical bills.

We know you're not one of us, Penn. YOU'RE MAGICAL! We're not worthy blah blah blah..

  • First rule of government: If it ain't broke...Keep fixing it.

  • Penn,

Why does the word "socialist" mean "communist" to so many? Why are so many people so opposed to socialistic ideology? I seriously doubt most people understand the many nuanced flavors of socialism. For me, I don't think any one is quite right. I like to think of myself as somewhat of a libertarian, but maybe a bit more practical. Capitalism is more like the opposite of socialism to me and it seems that capitalism requires that money trickle up. I'll try to formulate that better.

  • Honestly, Canada is a bit socialist and look at it. They're doing pretty well.

  • "Why does the word 'socialist' mean 'communist' to so many?"

When I read about isms some years ago, and maybe this changed or maybe I just misunderstood it, but communism is an unreal idealistic Utopian state we've never really seen. Even at it's best, the USSR was never a communist state. It called itself that, but it never got better than socialism, and that was on a good day.

I'd just call it fascism and occasional downright tyranny. When human beings are involved, you can't have Utopia.

  • On Reddit, I'm a member of both the libertarian and the socialist sub-reddits. Occasionally the libertarian group will post a paper which complains about socialism. But, no form of socialism necessarily requires or encourages fascism. In fact, there is a form of socialism called libertarian socialism. Never mind about communism and what's happened; no one I know of suggests anything like that and with lessons learned, we might be able to avoid it. Check out the wiki on socialism flavours.

  • A nation can claim to be a socialist state but actually practice fascist behavior or vice versa. The current US government pretends to embrace capitalism, but behaves more like a schizophrenic despotic socialist monster.

They're all just words we throw around. Bottom line: are the people ruling, or being ruled? It's usually the latter, masquerading as the former, no matter what labels you use. I love my country, but I hate what it has become.

  • Amen, thank you for contributing to intelligent discourse. Fear has a way of making people buy duct tape and deride thoughtful insight as anti-patriotic.

  • I'm a socialist also. What I really hate is people who say that socialism is evil when they think charity is good. Charity is a socialistic idea and there's nothing wrong with either.

  • The difference is that charity is voluntary, whereas mandatory paycheck deductions are coercive.

  • True, but that doesn't necessarily make one better then the other though. They both could and often do achieve the same goal. Only when people are forced to help out their fellow man do they scream communist fascist anti-god police state. Well at least in america they do. But that's why society exists right? To be interdependent makes a society.

  • I can't speak for everyone, but my take on it is less anti-"fascist police state" than, "I consider my own judgment on where to donate my charity dollars to more likely positively affect the particular causes which I personally champion, than to be coerced to donate to a collective pool and have it be voted upon by committee, and easily swayed for political capital to support something I don't necessarily want to support."

    My take, anyway.

  • i dont even care about politics but i sure love me some penn

  • PENN!

I like how you spun everything to make me sound foolish. :) And I think you are an awesome entertainer, I love everything you do, especially Bullshit.

Just sayin - the majority of the population aren't interested in politics in the way you and me are - the evangelical way. So someone watching the vid without much of a foundation would get the wrong impression... that was my point.

And my middle name is kealoha which means "of love" and my first name, Sean, means "God's gracious gift"

  • Hey he saw my video, and yes i'm ok with people trying to stop people from harming themelves but not the goverment.

  • What's the penalty if nobody voted? I mean an absolute absence of interest.

  • Well...that's a weird scenario, because presumably the people running would still vote for themselves...if you want an absolute lack of interest, you should ask what would happen if nobody ran for president.

But, as a thought experiment, I have no idea...that would mean that both the people and the government that represents them are entirely bereft of will. I don't think there would be a penalty, but presumably there would be some serious evaluations of the political system.

  • hahaha the ending was amazing

  • Angst-filled, deaf teenagers unite!!!

  • Only a fascist would think we are moving towards the ideal sort of government (unless they just haven't been paying much attention).

  • :) I love you Penn.

  • hahaha Nice swiss army knife.

  • You're an ass. That was awesome.

I don't understand why some people are so gung-ho about other people voting. It's none of their business if I vote or not. I'm an American, and it is my right - no, my DUTY - to sit around on my ass and not do shit.

  • That last guy Penn answered was an idiot.

  • Wow then we are more than simply just fucked

thank you person i now know that the world will end faster than it should have

  • I dont think a lot of people understand what "government" means, much less demand for a larger or smaller one.

A smaller government will mean less employees for things we need, like police or government funded scientific research.

  • That is not typically what we want to shrink.

I myself want to shrink the IRS and the multi-leveled bureaucracy.

And less intervention in our lives.

    Freedom baby, yeah!

  • penn you're really cool

  • Holy shit he said mine :O

  • OK that was funny.

Smaller government and more individual freedom...

Everybody should also be thin and have great sex

This is the kind of deep analysis typical of the

    Plea Bargain School.

  • Is that a giant automated swiss army knife?

  • good video

  • WTF is moving above the backround above the monitor?

  • Advocating freedom is amied at angst filled teenagers? no one else wants more freedom? what a crazy bastard.

  • So having a problem with something means you're angsty. That's a new one.

  • Hey Penn, you should do some videos on objectivism. From the videos I've seen it's pretty obvious you must be a big fan of Ayn Rand. There aren't enough objectivists on youtube, and there are almost none that I know of in popular culture.

Objectivism needs all the champions it can get, especially those with television shows. Even if you are just a bullshit juggler.

You should do an episode of Bullshit on statism.

  • I don't think objectivism deserves to be championed. Being for small government, secularism and individual liberty is one thing, but being against any form of altruism is really fucked up. Plus there's these cult-like elements surrounding it, and this "second-handers suck" bullshit. Maybe I'm wrong here, but that's how I see it.

  • Here's an analogy: you're poking two fingers into the jelly-filled donut of angst-ridden politicians and then inflating a rubber ducky raft with Blind Lemon Jefferson songs, all the while correcting grammatical errors of the uneducated masses.

I expect to see this on the next viewer mail installment.

  • I like angry Penn.

  • No educational system has ever taught anyone how to think just what to think so why the fuck does the youtube viewers talk about getting people educated so they can vote? jesus fucking christ !!!!

  • Penn, you appeal to me, and I'm not an angst-filled teen-ager.

  • Penn, I'm neither angst filled nor teenager, and I still enjoy listening to what you have to say.

I'd consider myself a Republitarian as opposed to a true Libertarian, but just because you're making people think doesn't mean you're pandering to an internet crowd.

Keep yelling FIRE if that's what it takes, hopefully there is more of us that can read lips.

  • Your giant swiss army knife is alive.

  • You could also argue that perhaps watching the debate might convince people they don't want either of those schmucks.

Presumably many of those who vote for a third party do so, when they are dissatisfied with the two existing parties, and they wont be unless they hear them speaking and discover the similarities between the parties and emptiness of their rhetoric.

So maybe you should be telling people to watch the debate , like you tell people to read the damn Bible.

  • I think it's best that apathetic and disenfranchised people don't pretend to be otherwise by voting. I'd say people should deface their ballot papers if they can't get behind a candidate though - people died so you had the right to deface your ballot paper.

  • The "braces" analogy fails because it implies that there is an expert who knows exactly how to fix us. In the case of orthodontics, this applies, but nobody knows exactly how to fix the problem's people have except for themselves. Nobody can micromanage the American people, of course Obama says he can, and everyone thinks he will. By the way, I like your Swiss Army Knife decoration! I remember wanting one after seeing it in the window of an outdoorsman's store when I was a kid.

  • Penn, Your house sort of makes you have a small echo. It's a bit difficult to hear, for me at least.

  • lol at Penn at 4:09

  • DON'T WATCH THE PENN

    ;-)

  • ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★!!

  • watch the" Synchronized Presidential Debating ", 2&3 were exactly the same script.

  • In a democracy, the people will get the government they deserve.

  • No zey won't. In a democracy (as we know zem) people can only choose between z options given to zem by politicians (even when much [or all] of z time, none of z options actually represent any of zeir personal preferences. People often mistake democracy for majority rule, but actually, it's minority rule. Majority rule is just an illusion (of choice) created by limiting people's options and zen making zem choose amoungst a limited set of options, none of which actually represent zeir interests.

  • lol I had fun reading your post.

You're right, too. It's lovely how people are suckered into participating with the very government they find necessary to improve.

How to alter something if you keep playing by its rules?

  • because you have to understand something to understand how to improve it.

  • Like Communism, a true Democracy does not exhist. The US is part Democracy, part Republic. Mainly, Replublic on the Federal level, in-between at the state level, and Democracy on the local level. The Republic part is supposedly there to protect minorities from being persecuted by the majority. Politicians like to use this rumor of a Democracy, as it keeps us dumb and accepting of whatever they choose, which always helps them out first, and leaves us with the bill and disrespect of the World.

  • True, true...well, most of it anyway.

That's one thing that everyone seems to forget, we don't live in a simple democracy (i.e. majority rules), we live in a representative republic. In a true democracy, everything would be put to the people and there would be no need for senators or representatives...it would also be a horrible way to run a government. *shudders* The confusion alone would be enough to make me vomit in terror.

  • Hey Penn, you should run for Congress on the Libertarian ticket in Nevada!
