  • your tv sucks

  • whoo!! i just found out my ex cut his phone off and leavin me with the bill!!! all i could do was walk around the house singing "oh my lord, lord, lord, lord"!"!! mmmm-hmmmm mmm-hmmmm

  • These men goin to CHURCH

  • If you look closely in the TV, you can see someone holding the camera. :P lol.

  • my favorite part too! thank you for posting :)

  • JUPITER! hes so adorable!

  • best part, no doubt

  • fuck what color you are, this is american history!!!!!!God bless this country

  • They killed off his mama. Dam. Imagine how much anger this man had in him.

"Aint even mutcha a matter what happen tomorrow...cause we men aint we."

  • LOL - we always use to do this in high school (the humming). Made the teachers so mad.

  • hes holding bible as if he can read....he couldnt talk

  • @mikevon31 you can always be taught the bible and know its a the good book

  • @FreemasondWreAwsome what do we have today? Are you relly going to ask that. Well because the union won i can do what iwant instead beieng forced into slave labor and working all day and night, and bieng whipped beaten and deprived. How about that.

  • Excellent performances in the movie. Denzel's performance was ridiculously awesome in this film.

  • Lol I'm glad my head doesn't do that on camera! :D We started watching Glory in Social Studies about 2-3 days ago, and we didn't get far but I really love Col. Robert Shaw! Daym he is hott! ^.^ ♥

  • Im watching this movie in Social studies. it's so good!!!

  • Your right bout this scene. It was always one of my favorite parts. All these actors give great performances, Kennedy, Freeman, Broderick and Denzel. But after growing up and getting more into history. Its really irritateing that they distorted so many little facts about the 54th that are so important just for the sake of makin this movie. The true story is just as heroic.

  • @hCHASEs87 true but it made its point i think.......that black soldiers sacraficed and were brave even when most had no home to go to after the war

  • Wow i just watched this in history and this is a great movie it sucks that they lost a wagner but anyway this is my favorite scene.

  • Love this movie!! Morgan Freeman is the best!

  • Best scene any movie ever

  • this is my favorite part too lol

  • i love this movee (:

  • the guys who look like robert horry and other guys who look like michael jordon lol

  • lol.. straight from the TV...

  • blessed Jesus almighty is with us....and we thank you LORD..and ask for your blessing ...day by day....amen

  • Man...I gotta get back in church!!!

  • @cf117119 It's not beethoven because they are singing gospel which is of their roots. Some white people kill me with your idea that everything you think is right is the end all and be all. I know so many white churches that try their best to mimic black gospel music and how we sing it but just can't quite get it right. Last I checked, the majority of society wasn't check'n for classical music my friend. Hell, I'm a professional piano player, I play classical music and I think it's dull.

  • @EvilSiper to hate someone is wasted energy b/c most likely you can hate the person but that's not going to change who they are. Someone could say they hate you b/c you appear to be athiest yet we don't even know you. Hate derives from ignorance. I suggest you live your life focusing your energy on things that are positive instead of hate, b/ c you can hate until you are blue in the face and it wont change one thing. You seem like you may be a bit unstable and need some therapy.

  • @EvilSiper why do you hate christians?? The problem is religious intolerance. Please realize that you live on this earth with billions of people from all walks of life and they are not going to all be the same. That's the beauty of it. If we were all the same this would be a pretty boring place. Obviously you aren't a christian and I don't hate you. I simply don't care. You have just as much right to believe/not believe in whatever you want. Live your life and stop worrying about others.

  • so lordy!!

  • I love this film and this scene sums up all the feelings, fears and bravery of all fighting men of the civil war.

  • I'm just a middle-aged white man from a typical suburban upbringing, but everytime I watch this my eyes tear up. What people (black and white) did for this country was amazing. Or just the thought of going into battle and knowing you'll likely die, wow. So much love for all the people who have/are/will fought/fighing/fight for this country.

  • whats the songs name

  • morgan freeman is the legend

  • thank you for this video!

  • MUCH LOVE TO ALL THE WHITE MEN THAT FOUGHT AND DIED FOR OUR STRUGLE,something that our genaration tends to forget

  • I first saw this film 21 years ago. Have seen it again many times since, and I've always found it moving. Certainly one of the best films about the American Civil War. Then again, I brought some backstory with me to "Glory." As a lifelong Civil War buff, I learned about Shaw and the 54th in 1969, when I was not quite 10 years old. So it was kind of a culmination for me to see this excellent film, nearly 21 years later:).

  • The HISTORY of this Regiment, is GLORY.

  • Thats an awesome 3D tv................ :D

  • Can't believe Denzel didn't receive and OSCAR for this Emotional Roll. He carried the film with Morgan! And I can bet they felt these rolls deep in the Hearts and Souls!

Instead he receives it for a Stereotypical Roll in Training Day. What a JOKE!

    PEACE

  • @ddesign63

He did win the Oscar. He won best supporting actor for his role.

  • @RedDeezy ..Yeah....I was hoping for BEST ACTOR! That role, I felt in my Heart.

    PEACE

  • @ddesign63,

Yeah, him winning for Training Day was really stupid. He won for playing a stereotypical black guy/crooked cop. Not really a believable win for me. Sean Penn should have won.

  • this was my least favorite part, heck I have hated christians for a long time now.

  • @EvilSiper Why do you hate them?

  • @EvilSiper Why do you hate them?

  • @EvilSiper why

  • I meant should

  • This country is fucking awesome.Whoever doesn't think this should go burn in hell.I love being American and so should you.We have brave people that die every fucking day just to serve our country. You shold be thankful.God Bless America!!!!!

  • @renren725 great comment

  • @renren725 i like our country but i hate it because we stole it from friendly people who without them the first colonies probably wouldnt have survived and then we turn around and steal all their land and kill almost all of them and callthem "indians" when they are the real americans and take half of mexico while were at it. its a lot our fault they are so poor

  • such a good scene. so impowering of what it was like for the African American's in the US during that time. how even though they had next to nothing they still had faith in the lord. such a good scene and such a good movie:D

  • my favorite one is pay day id love to say (10 doller a lot ov money ) no im not makeing fun of it it just sounded kined of neet the way he said it ten doller a lot ov money

  • Isn't there a part in this film where a black soldier starts beating up a white woman in front of her home for some biscuits and he gets shot?

  • Every now and then I start singing the song that they were singing and it all comes back! I will always admire their courage and sacrifice for freedom.

  • 1:20 and 2:50 Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington have a big heads too, lol

  • Funniest part of the movie.

  • "Whether I die by the muzzle of riffle. Die on water, or on land..... I may know that you Lord Jesus are with me!"

  • My favorite part as well. Such a great movie.

  • One of the best movies ive ever seen but sad sad ending...

  • :30- his head getting big is hysterical

  • 5 people survived in the whole movie wow but the one racist dude got shot in the face in the end

  • My favorite to. I love how all the soldiers come as 1 that night.

  • It's good the Union won & the slaved black people had their turning point from their white kidnapers. I just wonder if the Confederates won, history today is much different. Are both racist Confederates & Nazis alliance is possible?

  • is a confederate and nazi alliance possible? in my opinion, abso-fucking-lutley! think about it. Nazi-Killed Jews, Confederates-Killed Blacks. If both parties were still alive and running well, our world would be SCREWED. and oh, read Harry Turtledove, he made a novel about what would have happened had the CSA won the war.

  • Southerners viewed blacks as property, Nazi's viewed Jews as animals (while similar, they had no value to Nazis)

  • @hencura Correct, If you happen to visit Hattiesburn Mississippi, you might get a tast of the beginnings of such an alliance. Each year they parade throughout the city of Hattiesburg. However, they have managed to draw the wrath of such diverst groups that it looks like they've picked a fight with the United Nations. Strangest thing about it is the fact that they demand the right to bear arms and get mad when their foes do the same.

  • Mine Too

  • This is also my favourite part. It is brilliantly written and naturally acted, almost as if it was not scripted, but the actors are speaking from the heart. Denzel, the main star of the movie has the least to say in the scene. He simply cannot find the words to speak. His tears represent a turning point for him. The sad things is that it is too late. He is killed in battle. "Cuz we men," is almost a justification for war. We know not why we fight, other than that we are men.

  • @peckamite Uh, I disagree with your take on the last battle. There was a color guard from the 54th that was given the Medal of Honor and I was under the impression that the Denzel Washingtin character was the portrayal of that individual. It was a brilliant movie regardless of it's historical accuracy.

  • My favourite scene as well. This is the point the whole film leads to and it does so exceedingly well. I remember knowing what Denzel was going to say after he says it doesn't matter what happens tomorrow. "Cuz we men."

This was the climax of the movie. But it could not end here. The final slaughter had to be shown for theatrical and historical purposes.

  • Great movie but a bit surprised this is your favorite part ... for me it's the ending, or pay revolt part.

  • Dude shut up.

  • Oh, shut up southparkqqqqq. What you said was beyond ignorant.

  • this movie is the best!

    my all time favorite movie!

  • si è fantastico!

    belissimo film!

    Back to the video_

Awesome video, it doesn't matter if its bad quality, it sounds good no matter what

  • i saw this in mr. stewarts american history class....best teacher ever, and becasue of him im an american history buff now.....i read books....god honest BOOKS

  • and Woz I here ya man :S cus I'm Majoring in American History, and yet none of my professors mention this battle or these men? O_o

  • And why do you think that it has not been taught??? I show this in my United States History class every semester. Its an important part of our history that has been deleted on purpose up until the 1990's

  • i seen this in my US History class....it was a good movie

  • yeah i think it should cause its the first time black people had a part a part to fight and be free

  • Really sick movie man, my fave part too ;) mmmmm hmmmmmm....

  • I live in SC & visited near where this battle took place. It is now underwater due to the erosion. There is not a marker or monument that I know of there. It's a shame. These men made the first major advance for the black man & they are mostly forgotten.

  • Yeah, cool ain't it?

  • :30 his head got big

  • i taped from the tv, that's why the quality is fucked up...

  • @browns42 ive seen the movie Glory browns42 ... so what are you talking about ? plz tell me :D

  • @CMoopu rofl

  • we just watched this in class its actually pretty good

  • me too

  • me too man it was pretty sick movie

  • @Moviemakerthe1st Me Too

  • @Moviemakerthe1st me too

  • @Moviemakerthe1st We're watching now in my class! I love Matthew Broderick! (Col. Robert Gould Shaw!) ♥

  • Why couldnt they just show 1 guy who said when it was his turn "Hell with you all, I aint dying for nobody, I want my gov check and my free food for my 8 kids, Im gonna go spend my money on 20inch rims!" Think thats wrong? We ALL know that this fictional guy does indeed exist. He needs to watch Glory and stand up like men, LIKE MEN! Where has the nobility of these singing men gone to? Why is entitlement and you-owe-me mentality so common? Freedom = Nobody owes you shit, you have to earn it.

  • dude were watching this in hsitory class

  • The 54th had more soul than any European composer, I doubt the hater of this scene could even keep rythem with the GREAT song....Oh my lord lord lord lord.....

  • mmmmm hmmmmmm

  • One of my favorite scenes from the movie - Thanks for checking out my video response :)

  • Thanks - the best part of a great movie!

  • ah you don't like it when black people sing. would you rather it be, backstreet boys or nsync? maybe new kids on the block. sounds kind of racist to me. what was your favorite scene, all the black people getting killed at the end?

  • no i would rather see the scene where they read the speech from the confederate armed forces and the next day there is still a full battalion of soldiers with hardly any deserters. so why don't you go fuck yourself - let me guess your black and are trying to get reparations or something and yes i do hate that kind of singing, like i hate most black music - lets face it, its hardly Beethoven or Vivaldi is it! Oh and i do think the end scene is very good and if you don't like that then oh well.

  • ahhh you sound so angry. i am black and i'm proud of it. no i don't look for reperations because i work hard for my money. nice try though. i like this scene because they're expressing themselves the way they know how and expressing they're human and scared but they went anyway. that's called courage. i myself like beethoven and stravinsky. i also like old motown, which a lot of rock groups were influence by. have a good one. sir.

  • u said this is the worst part? i should smack u with my dick.. easily one of the best parts

  • <33333333333 forever for posting this!! hahahaha

  • How did you know this was my favorite part.

Thank you. Denzel hit on the head.

  • This is really awesome! Thanks! I had people tell me that I resemble Denzel Washington!

  • really?...the women must be all over you...

  • nice clip

  • This scene and the scene where the white soldier says"Give 'em hell 54th!" always brings tears to my eyes. This movie forces people to see that we are all made from the same mold and that color means nothing when it comes down to our souls. We could all learn a great deal from this movie.

  • amen that bit gets me everytime too

  • Let me tell you, I was about 10 when this movie came out and me and my cousin who was a couple years older then me went to see it at the show and when this movie was done and the people were walking out the show, they were BALLING, SNIFFING AND CRYING, white and black, without question the most powerful movie I have ever seen, I had to fight back a few myself but let a few go for sure..

  • you nailed it!

  • I live on James Island, SC where they fought in their first battle. The courage and bravery they had is something 99.9% of us will never comprehend. One of the top ten American films ever made

  • wonder what the ACLU thinks of this scene....

  • ...?

  • Morgan freeman is the best. He could probably make an orange jucie commercial sound epic. "If tommorow is our great gettin up mornin"...lol yes. gotta love it. best before battle speech in movie history, rivaled only by king Theoden's speech in "Return of the king".

  • lol...true that

  • It's amazing that a film clip of a film clip can draw almost 12,000 views. It just shows that this scene really strikes a chord in people. They really had faith in God to endure as they did. I love it when Denzel says "y'alls the onliest family I got..."

  • yea that gets me too. and you're right about the film clip...i don't know how to get it directly to my computer...

  • Fine prose,mr.Freeman could read a menu, and make it sound wonderful.

  • Can I just say, Morgan Freeman rocks my world, it has to be said

  • Denzels performance in this scene is amazing.

  • i felt like a tool i cried at this part and wen they were marching towards fort wagner and the asshole at the beggining who said "Give them hell 54th" ur rite denzel did a hell of a job in this scene

  • I always thought he said "give them hell for me boys!" I'll have to listen again somehow. I so often hear things wrong.

  • GO UNION!!! general grant is my great great grandfather!

  • Oh, wow! You must be proud!

  • i absoultely LOVE this movie. very touching. this is on dvd right? cuz i can't find it]:

  • yeah it on dvd...have you gone to best buy?...that's were i got it

  • oohh thankks! omg. i love it. lol

  • I love this part! My friend finds it annoying. I used ti think that the first guy to talk said "I may know that You, blessed Jesus all muddy, are with me!". "Oh my Lord! Lord, Lord, Lord! Mmhmm... Mmhmm... Mmhmm".

  • amen, amen&amen

  • Nice clip, but not of the best quality in both sound and graphics. Great film choice though.

  • yeah...i took it with my camera...but just needed to share

  • WE MEN AINT WE

  • Excellent movie. The cast and director really brought it home. I love history when it is upclose and personal. This scene is one that speaks of the inner conflict, building courage and unity. Nothing you would find in a history book. This scene really reached out and touched my heart.

    Thank you for posting it.

  • I don't think they prayed bc they believed they would somehow win...but to settle their hearts. They knew that a lot of them were not going to come back. It was an effort to accept their coming fate...that's what i think.

  • I meant that they were silly enough to think there was anyone listening.

  • Praying was a big thing back then. And they also were saying their good-byes to eachother, because they knew that most of them wouldn't make it back.

  • o my lord..lord..lord..lord

  • I love this part of the movie...Just wish it was the whole part of the prayer session and a little better quality. I love it though!

  • This is definitely the best part of the movie. Thanks for posting it. Robert Gould Shaw is such a bad ass for going to the front of the line, and being the first to die. He could have stayed in the back, and hid, but he was a man. I admire Gould Shawm and I am not going to lie, I actually cried the first time I saw this scene because it was awesome, and I get chills every time I see the other soldiers cheer for the 54th right befor Wagner. Thank you 54.

  • someone post a better quality version of this clip

  • agreed... this is the highlight of the movie...

  • best part ever... do it with my friends all the time

  • awesome movie.. thanks

  • Glory was an excellant movie! Best ever since in reality they did pray before their assault on Wagner, they knew they were going to die.

  • Beautiful film with a gorgeous soundtrack

  • was a good movie but Gettysburg might have been better lol

  • great cast

  • BEST MOVIE EVER!!! i love the sound track!!

  • yeh this part is really good!

  • best movie!!!!

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!
